It hasn't changed in 10 years. It's never been a favorite of mine but it fit the bill today for location, cost, and available tee times. Fairways were "ok," greens were inconsistent, and some of the tee boxes need a lot of work. A couple of the par 3 tees had no grass at all. I don't see myself rushing back here anytime soon but if you need a place to golf with a group and the cost and location work for your schedule, it's satisfactory. I view this course as a 2nd tier for based on my regular courses that I play. read more

I love the layout of this course, but it's in the worst condition I've ever seen it, but I still believe. I believe in the new ownership. They've made some good investments and as Rick said, "We have a lot of work to do." They do, but he's invested and present everyday. I will continue to play and support the course, but yesterday, my group was t happy. The greens are the absolute worst I've ever played. Horrible. That'll take work and time as they continue working on the irrigation. However, what can be improved and should be attention to detail are some simple things. The trash cans were over flowing on Saturday afternoon. Obviously, the trash wasn't emptied. It's not a municipal course and it's looking like it. The layout is great and it's potentially going to be one of the best in NE Florida. Keep supporting the course. New ownership that is present. Let's keep supporting them. read more

I played this golf course yesterday (8/1/2024) for the first time in two years. As a result I do not recommend it. Why? I paid $79 plus tax for a total of $84.14, but in my opinion it's a $40 golf course. Granted it's an interesting layout but the once fast greens are terribly slow. To top that off the bunkers hadn't boot raked in days to weeks. Then to add insult to injury a pitcher of beer was almost $30. I will not play there again and I don't suggest that you do either. read more

Absolutely DISGUSTED. Played 1/2/22. 17/18 tee boxes were absolutely destroyed. EVERY SINGLE GREEN was riddled with fungus. Can't believe they have the audacity to charge $60+ for a round here. AVOID THIS COURSE at all costs. It's apparent that the staff does not properly maintain this place. Spend your hard earned money at any other course available in Jax. read more

It's getting back to where it was.....Over the past 5 years - condition here was going steadily downhill.....It was sold, and in the limited time the new owners have been here - the improvements are noticeable - they appear to be putting real $$$ into it: Looks like a really cool expanded back patio coming soon...15 which was a mess in the summer was roped off and allowed to grow in - not there yet, but it looks like it's going to be a great hole when it's done.....some greens a little sketchy, but again - it's obvious these guys are putting in the work for the condition to match the layout, which I think is the best in the area.... read more

We hadn't played golf in a while, so we decided to check out Cimarrone for the driving range one Saturday. It wasn't hard to get in past the guard gate, you need to tell them you are going to play golf. The community is nice and quiet. It was a little hard to find the golf shop but once we did we were able to buy a bucket of balls for $6. When we went to the range, there was one other couple besides us, although there were two groups of teenage boys that came to goof off and unfortunately were really loud and obnoxious, which made it hard to play. One boy even asked if he could tee off my ball, to which I had no response for him and scared him away with my silence. Other than that, I was able to practice driving and my boyfriend was able to practice putting. read more

Came to play a game with some friends, group of 5. Reserved a game at 10:00AM for 5 for a friends birthday. Made us split up to 3 and 2, despite nobody being behind us the entire time. Then, about halfway through the game they made us go into the clubhouse and said two members of the group didn't pay (all 5 did). After apologizing they let us finish our game. The greens were in horrible shape. In need of a lot of work. Definitely needs watering. Not worth the $46 I paid. I've played this course before and it wasn't in the condition it was in. I will give them another chance later this year. But for now I would stay away. read more

Have been playing this course 20+ years, seen several owners/evolutions to the course. New owners last June with years and years of PGA logistics/operational experience. Promised to redo the entire course makeover/Clubhouse reno. In that year the tee boxes/fairways have made great improvement, clubhouse currently in a complete reno but looking fantastic. However, the greens for the most part are unplayable. 3-4 look fairly nice and green, the rest are a mix of good grass/dirt/sand/weeds. Several greens have "half and half" good grass and dead grass, some have 4' wide strips of sod running the length that you have to putt over/through which is near impossible. And the grass that is used is like sticky flypaper. You expect a 10 foot putt but it's lucky if it rolls 4-5 feet, and that's on the GOOD portions. After a year of rework, it would be expected the greens would be top priority and looking AND playing well but sadly not. Love the course but right now it's really not playable to any form. read more

The layout of the course is nice, but the greens, are well lets just say you do not need a putter. All is grass is gone so if you like putting on dried out dirt you will be ok. Played on Saturday April 15th 2023, and once we were on the greens we just pick up our balls and walked to the next tee. read more

This course is located in Cimarrone Golf & Country Club community. You have to have a golf reservation to get through the security guard gate at the front of the residential community to access the course. Apparently, this course is the oldest course on County Road 210. I like the clubhouse, although there is a pro shop with minimal items, there is not much else there. However a plus in my book is that the staff in the restaurant bar is friendly and quick to get you a beer. That being said there is only one 'beer cart person' out on the course during the day it seems, where as most courses seem to have two folks in this position dishing out drinks to weary golfers. Really this course is hit and miss so to speak. The most important aspect of golf relies heavily on how golfer friendly the greens are...and this course just is not consistent with the agronomy in department. Currently the greens are in a sad state of affairs. The upside is that as a result of this poor state of the greens, you can golf this gated community course AND have a beer for around $35.00! read more

Dammit! I HATE it when I don't look at the dates reviews were posted. Obviously, this course has gone DOWNHILL since many of its earlier reviews. I've played hundreds of golf courses, and I'd place Cimarrone in the BOTTOM FIVE! Course is in TERRIBLE condition...tee boxes, fairways AND greens. Not sure what is going on here, but FL has many, many courses that I would play before going back to Cimarrone, regardless of how cheap they make the greens fees! What a disappointment. read more

Friday night dinner, steak. Sounded great. Absolutely zero seasoning or marinade. Butternut squash and broccoli... plain and dry. This would have been a perfect dinner in a retirement home. Not in a country club setting. I am a resident of Cimarrone and HATE to write a negative review of "my"course.. but this is ridiculous. Children unsupervised eating noodles with their hands, while I am trying to eat an overpriced flavorless steak. This is NO country club setting. Apparently, employees who are not working are allowed into the kitchen and behind the bar. No thanks! Unprofessional, overpriced and not a country club environment. I haven't played Cimarrone Golf Club in a couple of years because the last time I was there, the course was horrible. Well, after a couple of years, the course is worse! Tee boxes have little to no grass, fairways are horrible with bald spots everywhere, and the greens are eat up with who knows what. Very, very disappointed in the management of this course. Why would you charge such an exhorbitant fee to play a course in horrible condition? It appears that the management does not care about the course either! I will NOT be back ever. Tough, water lined course (16 of 18 holes have h2o) I pretty much became a "target golfer" here as I was learning the game when I discovered the nice rates. I've played here more than any course. That being said mostly throughout this course was seemingly in better shape than courses in the surrounding areas hot hard by the economy. Course has much personality though I've fallen prey to its deceptions! Thin fairways and much water WILL strengthen your accuracy and course management skills! read more

Finished up the day with a GREAT DINNER at the restaurant in the club. Low country boil, man, what a deal. Peggy at the pro shop was beyond sweet and considerate. I arrived with a rain check and was 7$ short of a full round of 18 and upon realizing I forgot my wallet The sweet women took care of the remainder of the cost and insisted I go out and have fun. Every time I've ever played here she has always been beyond accommodating . She truly made my day and ontop of the course being in great shape she will be part of the reason why this place is always my go to. Used to be one of my favorites - close to home, cheap, and challenging. Unfortunately I've had far too many experiences with cart shortages, overworked/undercharged carts, overbooked tee times, and flat out lying about tee time availability. Don't sell a 1:30 time slot when you know the course is playing over an hour behind!!!!! This, combined with crappy greens and an unfriendly staff, will have me playing the other neighborhood links from now on. read more

We play this course frequently. It is definitely one of our favorites. A little challenging, with lots of water; fairways, tees and greens in good condition. The staff is super accommodating and goes out of their way to be sure you have a great golf experience. Has a great chef, and the food is great and priced appropriately. On a scale if one to 10 I would give it an "8". read more
