Love the convenience of Cilantros! They have a bunch of locations popping up around Chicagoland. We ordered the asada tacos which were really good! I also ordered the pollo tamales, which weren't my favorite. There was hardly any meat in them but if there had been I bet I would've really enjoyed them. Hopefully next time! Each location also has a bar so if you're feeling a drink when dining in! Awful experience. We used to order tacos from this location for many years but today they delivered the worst Pastor tacos I have ever eaten. The meat was shredded and the seasoning tasted awful. It had pieces of something that look like tomato skin. They were disgusting. I called to let them know that maybe my ordered was wrong and the cook answered and said that that was the way the pastor tacos were made now and that there was nothing we could do about it. I have had a pollo burrito and burrito belly bowl here. I ended up getting the belly bowl because they didn't have a two taco meal option and this was cheaper then ordering two tacos with rice and beans on the side. I hope they can add a two taco meal to their menu for lunch time customers. The belly bowl was good but also overwhelming. It just was missing something but it was hard to describe. Complete disappointment between both the service and the food. I've never had an issue with this location until tonight, I had ordered the kids STEAK quesadilla (as included I selected an horchata) and the selected side of double rice no beans, through there online service which is commonly convenient. I walked in to pick up my order as any other would, as it was continuously one thing after another. I had to remind the girl about my drink and ask for utensils (which should be already provided). I make my way home ready to enjoy what I thought was going to be a good dinner average commute of (20 minutes), to then realize my quesadilla had not one piece of steak (which I also paid extra for) and both rice and beans when I had specifically asked for double rice. AND to add on further than found hair in my quesadilla, Instead of them taking their time and reading the order correctly they insisted on throwing whatever together whichever was convenient for them. I had called to speak with the manager regarding this disaster disruption of service and was told I would've received a call sooner than later around 7 PM, 7:10.. 7:30 still no call, I took it into my own hands as any customer would (when their dinner is completely ruined) to further then call and receive any type of sympathy through service especially this location. The girl over the phone left me on hold for another 30 minutes, still not reaching the manager as she continuously gave me attitude and further then lied stating the manager wasn't even on the clock, She also stated "I don't know what to tell you, he's busy" as she further then stated he wasn't there. so bad from the food to the service. I placed my order in person and then was not only up charged by cashier but she had put in the wrong order. to fix it, she then wanted to charge me more than what was originally due. i let it go because i thought maybe there was a language barrier. she seemed pretty annoyed about the whole thing. meat from torta was cold and chile relleno taco was all sponge and literally no chile. i only didn't go back to ask for a refund because i was exhausted. annoyed and still hungry. should've just gone to portillos lol read more

I was hesitant to try this location again after seeing the recent reviews and they're right. The quality has dropped. I tried to place a pickup order over the phone but ended up getting put on hold for over 7 minutes.. I actually made it the restaurant in that amount of time only to find the girl at the front ignoring the phone still.. ordered a steak burrito & had to wait about 20minutes for it to be ready. The burrito was mostly filler(not a lot of meat) & a lot of the steak was chewy & fatty, they must've switched to a cheaper cut or something. Overall not the worst experience but not worth coming back anytime soon. Maybe I'll try back in a year or something.. read more

I only get out for lunch 1 day a week and cherish my taco Wednesdays... I have been going to this location for weeks for 2 steak tacos with everything without any problems... suddenly there was a GOTCHA today with the woman taking my order.. I asked for everything as I always so, she didn't ask any further questions... First, the prices on the overhead menu are out of date. So when you get your receipt it's kind of irritating. When you mention it they just kind of ignore you said it. Second.... (1) Burrito (1) LG horchata $17.88 with a $2 tip. If I waited to tip until after I ate the Burrito I probably wouldn't have tipped. Here are my takeaways; - Authentic Mexican flavors are present but subtle - Tacos are teeny tiny - Burritos are on a diet - Salsa verde was my favorite amongst the three options The store was clean and the food came out fast. My friend and I visited this location tonight and got 2 chicken tacos and some chips and guacamole to go. We took them home and my friend bit into hers, and found this hard stick looking thing in her taco. We called the location and asked to speak to the manager. When we were explaining to her what we found in our food, she said "Oh yeah the steak". We didn't even order the steak, and either way that is not something that you should find in your food. She just seemed to be justifying it and not concerned at all. Over the course of the phone conversation, the manager never once apologized for our situation. All she said was "Well do you want your money back or do you want us to remake the order?" Really not a good experience. We paid $10 for this meal and this just made us lose our appetite. Size of their burritos and prices are inversely proportionate, where size shrink by 10% each year while prices increase by that much. In ten years, I picture myself paying about $40 for zero burrito. Instructed by management or upon the mood of the food prep, I will never know. To add insult to injury, the worker gave me a defective cup for horchata, which leaked and leaked all the way home. Large turned to small in my short commute. Great new diet. Thank you Cilantro! Update: ordered with a lady over the phone at 4:50pm on 8/26. I get there 20 min later and they said no record of order. It doesn't get much better than Taco's Cecinas (thin salted and dried steak) from Cilantro Taco Grill. Seriously, all the food is great. It's so good that my friend Nick has been here four times in that last two weeks. And, he would have even gone more often, but the line turned him away. That's the only downside to this location (there are currently 5 locations) - it's very small. There's very limited seating. There's a counter with some stools and a couple of tables outside. It's pretty much take-out ... or, if you're like me (impatient and favoring hot food) you can eat a couple of tacos standing up. The chartreuse (yellow-green color) cilantro-guac salsa is the best. Been wanting to try this place forever and have driven by many locations and never stopped. However this one opened up right by where I work in Elmhurst! Ordered three al pastor tacos with onion and cilantro and a small horchata. Horchata seems to get its flavor from red hots candy which I'm not the biggest fan of but it was not nearly as overpowering with hot cinnamon as the chata I had at Big Star. These tacos were decent. It was lightly seasoned grilled pork. The pork was good on its own but lacked that deep flavor I have come to expect from an al pastor at other taco spots. I sampled the red and creamy green salsas on the tacos. The red had a fantastic smoky flavor to it which I really, really enjoyed! I think it would probably go well on ground beef or steak. The creamy green was not messin around! It was delicious and packed quite a kick of heat too! While I waited for my food I tried a spoonful of the tomatillo salsa that was In a bottle along the seating rail, it tasted much like the green verse at Taco Bell only you could tell it was made with fresh ingredients, it was REALLY good! I'm sure it's the bomb with chicken.... I will certainly be back to try more of their selections as I have heard many great things about this up and coming brand and I have to try the salsa pairings on a few other items. Checked this place out on my way back from work around 5pm on a Thursday. I ordered a steak burrito and a vanilla filled churro. The service was quick, staff was friendly, apple pay is accepted, seating is limited and there is a private parking lot with plenty of parking. This store is open Mon-Sat: 10am - 10pm Sunday: 11am - 9pm. I would definitely recommend this place! read more
