I am trying to switch from Walgreens to the Cigna mail order, which is Express Scrips/Evernorth. I can not get any specific info from the Cigna website on the status of the scrips. I only get "processing" and the date that the prescription was sent in by my doctor. That's it, no info about the status of the refill and when it might be shipped. I can not log in to Evernorth because "your information does not match our records". My bottom line, if you have a local pharmacy that you are happy with DO NOT switch to Cigna/Evernorth/Express Scripts. read more

Alright, so you need to call these bozos? Be sure to clear out your entire afternoon. You'll need at least an hour. Things you may encounter: 1. Your prescription arbitrarily being put on hold without warning because you didn't tell them you haven't spontaneously developed an allergy relevant to the drug you've been taking for years 2. Do NOT use Cigna Home Delivery/Express Scripts. They are not dependable, never ship in timely manner and you have to call multiple times to even get the order processed and shipped. Its absolutely terrible service. Even after speaking with an actual pharmacist, the order took over 4 days to ship (this was over a week after the order was placed). My original request was called in on October 24th, today is November 5th and I still do not have my son's medication. It's a seizure medication he cannot do without. I have no idea what prescriptions I have left to refill or what I have refilled in the past. Their IT department is absolutely worthless. They put in a ticket for repair and it goes nowhere. I'd give them 0 stars. I've been trying for many weeks to get a Rx mailed. I got a letter saying it wasn't filled bc my doctor didn't write 3 months of refills worth. That's not their fault but they send a letter all the way to Alaska instead of calling to tell me my doctor hasn't updated the Rx. Turns out my doctor did update it but they still didn't mail it to me bc I stated to call before sending future Rx. Well, this was a Rx I already told them I wanted and also they didn't call anyways. The rep said he would send it to the local Walmart so I could get it sooner. A week later I find out they still have not done that but offer to send it to Walmart like they have never offered that to me before. I will never attempt to get Rx from them again. read more

I'm giving Cigna Home Pharmacy 2 stars, because EVENTUALLY, I always receive my prescription in the mail. It may be a good service for someone who is housebound. Otherwise, it's far too inconvenient and costly. My neighborhood pharmacy fills my one month and three month prescriptions cheaper and the same day, 7 days a week. Cigna is closed on the weekends and holidays. When they receive your RX, it goes in a bin for processing. The customer service representative explained to me that it usually gets filled 24-48 from the time it goes in the processing bin, unless it's Friday (even Friday morning). Then it gets processed Monday-Wednesday of the next week. Shipping is an additional 7-10 business days. This is on top of the week or so it takes for them to receive it if you've mailed it to them. Certain prescriptions need to be signed for, and there is no way of tracking the shipping. So if you're slow to the door and/or you're not home all day long, it is likely you will miss the delivery and have a note tacked to your door telling you where you can pick it up the next day. In total, it takes 3-4 weeks to get a new prescription. I began using this service when our physician's suggestion when she started writing my daughter 90 day RX'S. As I stated earlier, the prescription has always eventually arrived, but each time it's been a huge hassle, from mailing it in, making the copay, phone calls back and forth with long hold times etc. Only recently did I learn that I can fill these at the local pharmacy, and that it's less expensive to do so. I GIVE ZERO STARS -- no! NEGATIVE STARS for this atrocious "service". My blood has literally never boiled as much as it has for this terrible headache of a place. I usually don't use the word "hate" but I definitely HATE this -- I don't even know if I should call it a "place" and I can't call it a service because they DON'T SERVE. I hate them. Hate. Hate. Hate. There aren't enough hates in the world to articulate my feelings towards them. Where to start. Well. I'll start by saying Cigna FORCES me to use this stupid service for two of my VERY CRITICAL medicines. It's not a choice by any means. I don't like CVS either but I'll take them over Cigna Pharmacy any day. Three times they did not send me my medicine on time or without me calling. But I'll tell you the story of my most previous experience to paint a very mysterious and convoluted picture. I take this very critical medicine once a week and twice the same day and it HAS TO be on time. Because of my previous experiences with this "service", I put in my calendar to call 2 weeks prior to make sure everything is in order to get to me on time. They said they will send it no problem once they get approval from my doctor. MY DOCTOR SENT THEM A SCRIPT RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. Anyway, eventually we got past that. I called again on the Wednesday after I ran out of my meds to make sure it got to me BY SUNDAY MORNING and I explained to them it can be CATASTROPHIC if I don't have it on time. There were endless back and forth phone calls and everyone was incompetent. Some were nice but how far does nice really get you? ON WEDNESDAY -- they promised me everything will be ready to go out on Thursday overnight and they said "hopefully you get it by Sunday" -- with no sense of urgency. Anyway, I took that as confirmation that I most likely will get it by Sunday. Saturday and Sunday I checked the mail. Nothing. SO on Sunday I called them again and asked why I don't have it or what's the status of it. THEY SAID THEY NEVER SENT IT. Like what???? So I asked why and I told them I called a million times and each time they told me one thing or another and they even had a record of all those calls. They said there's no really reason it wasn't sent out on Thursday and that technically I could have gotten it on Friday but they can't mail it out until tomorrow because it's Sunday. THE WORST PART was that I asked them if it would have ever got shipped if I never called them this time. THEY SAID NO. I COULD'VE JUST WAITED AND WAITED FOR THIS CRITICAL MEDICINE. DYING HERE BECAUSE STUPID CIGNA PHARMACY IS STUPID STUPID STUPID. I was ready to talk to supervisor at this point and somehow stayed composed. I explained the situation to a million representatives but nobody could explain what happened. My parents and boyfriend were FURIOUS. I had to calm them down too -- my dad was ready to seek legal action because he was so mad (probably wouldn't have once he calmed down) but we talked him down. They kept saying "use the app, use the app" I'm like -- THESE PHONE CALLS SHOULD MEAN SOMETHING. App is crap by the way -- checked it out and will try to use moving forward but it's really crappy. So now what do I do? I NEED this medicine... I already missed my morning dose... so what now? I need answers. I need a resolution. I asked them if they could send a week worth of meds to my CVS. They said they can do that but to do that I had two options. I could bother my doctor (who has done nothing but support me and did everything on his end to make everything right) on a Sunday and ask him to send an emergency script to CVS... OR my CVS can call Cigna and they'll transfer the script over. I went with the second. BUT NO... of course there are more problems. The CVS closed at 5pm and told me to call at 4pm to see if everything ran smoothly. They had me on hold for FORTY MINS. So I RAN to the CVS and told them everything and they said insurance isn't letting it go through. So I call Cigna AGAIN and tell them this should not be a problem with me in the middle and they should be competent enough to work it out between the two of them. So it's 4:40PM now and the pharmacist, in spite of telling her it's an emergency medicine and I NEED it on time said I could come back tomorrow morning. I'm like NO. LIKE WHY DOES NO ONE UNDERSTAND?? Apparently she was trying to transfer all three months to the CVS but I just needed ONE DAY -- 6 tabs. I HAD TO CALL CIGNA AGAIN TO ASK THEM FOR AN OVERRIDE. Mind you, I've been on and off the phone with Cigna and the other parties involved nonstop since 9 AM and it's almost 5pm. FINALLY they gave me the pills at 5:07 PM. I realized that the CVS didn't do anything wrong and I was frustrated with them but it was really all Cigna's fault. ANYWAY -- I got the meds and everything was kind of okay after the next day. And it just keeps on getting worse. Well once you somehow get your order in there, it's pretty easy. You just use the online form to refill it and bam there are your pills. HOWEVER, if you are getting a new prescription or a refill form from your doctor... it's pretty hellish. I actually had to have my doctor's office personally call them (they were NOT happy about that because Cigna has a wait time) because Cigna kept on saying they weren't receiving faxes and were lying about everything. They kept on telling me my order has gone through and that I should get it soon and I would find out a month later that something was wrong with my order. Nobody would tell me about it unless I called them (long wait sometimes). Also, the 24 hour phone line doesn't mean anything because the night time shift phone representatives don't have access to certain systems so they just make you call back in the morning. I am on 12 different medications that were filling at completely different times. I have called in FOUR different times in the past three weeks to get my initial order started. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE customer service. Finally was so frustrated with them that I embarrassingly started crying on the phone to them about how my whole point of switching to home delivery was to eliminate a little bit of stress and this has caused even MORE STRESS than I had before. There's literally no other option for home delivery since Cigna doesn't cover other services because they have their own. What they neglect to tell you is that their own home delivery pharmacy is INCOMPETENT of dealing with complicated orders. I strongly urge others to save yourself the headache and just get a friend or family member to pick up your prescriptions. With a chronic health condition like mine, my life is hectic enough already. I still don't have them and I am out so am taking 24 ibuprofen daily just to take the edge off. They are completely incompetent individuals who have blatantly lied to me about my doctor's response. When I call my doctor they say they have never heard from my insurance and meanwhile Cigna has told me they've denied my request. I am required to do this by Cigna and I would seriously not have Cigna at all because of this service if my job didn't use them. Beware. I have been using Cigna Home Delivery since January of 2018 after switching insurance companies. All was fine and I would've given them at least 3 out of 5 stars prior to this most recent incident. My doctor emailed over a prescription, (one I had already previously been taking and that I had refilled in December, different dosage though). Cigna immediately filled the prescription although I had previous prescription filled less than 60 days ago and charged me $691.80. Yes you read that right $691.80. There was no call to verify that I was okay with the amount, they just filled it. Within minutes of receiving the alert the prescription had been filled, I contacted Cigna to have medication stopped. Nope they had already shipped it and charged my account. I asked why I did not receive a phone call prior and they stated one was not needed. Really for a $691.80 prescription??? They said we keep your credit card on file, even though I believed I had asked for it not to be. Three days I spent trying to get answers as to why they charged me after asking for my card not to be kept on file. Two days of no returned calls from supervisors. I call today and get a supervisor who offered to help me and allowed me to wait and she sifted through call logs. Long story short my money is not being refunded, they have policy that states they keep your card on file unless you request it be deleted and called for any filled prescriptions and they have a policy that states they do not have to notify you unless your prescription is over $1000. As a human decency you would think the person filling your prescription would call you to verify before filling at $600 prescription, heck anything above $50 for that matter. The local pharmacy would call you prior to filling it but clearly those standards do not run across the board. The last young lady that I spoke to was the most help. She researched the calls and allowed me to wait while she did the research. My problem was not resolved, but she did at least take the time to follow through. I am currently being forced to use the CIGNA pharmacy because my prescription is deemed as a special medication that requires only them to fill. They are awful. They lost one of my prescriptions in the mail and after a big battle, I finally was able to get a refill filled at CVS pharmacy, though I still had to pay the co-pay to CIGNA even though they lost my prescription. Right now I am faced with the fact that I need a refill ASAP but it's Friday so the chances of my prescription getting to me anytime soon (processing and the weekend is upon us) is virtually nil. CIGNA, stick to coverage and keep your nose out of my business when it comes to where I choose to have my prescriptions filled! You cause more problems than help. read more

Cigna Pharmacy is the worst. Every month I'm forced to have a long conversation about my health (as if I hadn't already had that conversation with my Doctor, with whom I'd already consulted and had agreed to treat with the agreed upon medicines!). But there are logistical aspects of specialty medicines, and Cigna insists on following their naive billing process which amounts to doing it whenever they feel like it. My specialty medicine has a manufacturer assistance debit card, which can be used once a month. One month Cigna failed to charge that card, so the opportunity to do so was lost. Now they insist that *I* pay the charge, which they will always tell you as a new client *they* take care of. They take the power to handle things from you, then don't do the things that need to be done, and when they're not done, make you pay anyway. Not the type of business that should be rewarded with existence. read more

Awful. I have Cigna insurance and am forced by them to use this pharmacy. If I had the option to use my local pharmacy, this would be the procedure. "Hi, my name is John Doe, could you refill my tacrolimus?" "Sure Mr. Doe, that'll be ready in 20 minutes." Instead, it has taken me 45 minutes on average on the phone with Cigna Specialty to order 3 meds. And they won't allow you to get 3 months at a time. So far my experience has gone horribly. They didn't notify me that they didn't get my prescription order so I ran out of medicine. I got my dr to resend it and called to confirm that they got it. They did and I saw they had the wrong address so I corrected it and they said it would ship out(Monday) and that I should have it in 2-3 days. After over 5 phone calls and multiple online chats, they have been so unhelpful. This is a business that if I could choose no stars, it would reflect what they deserve. Cigna is my new insurance carrier. As is common with insurance plans, many have a mail order service which claims a cost savings and an ability to fill prescriptions for a 90 day supply. In this case, Cigna Home Delivery claimed that my prescription costs would be the same as a retail pharmacy for a 30 day supply, but in general when ordering through them I would recognize a savings reflected in what usually works out to buy 2 months at the retail and get the 3rd free. To make a long story short, I had my MD send my prescriptions to Cigna and then called Cigna to fill my first order. I had one brand name prescription in the order which I knew may be expensive. Because of this, I asked the representative to price all of the prescriptions and to not send any that were in excess of $100 for a 90-day supply. The representative reviewed the prescriptions and the only one that was over $100 was the brand name one and I instructed her not to have that one filled so that I could seek an alternative. A few days later I received a text notification that a charge approaching almost $600 had been placed on my card by Cigna. Having filled most of my prescriptions at retail pharmacy before, and knowing that all of them were around $20 each, the $600 didn't make sense. My first thought was that they filled the name brand prescription that I had requested not be filled. I place a call to Cigna. The name brand prescription was not filled. Instead, one of the generics was filled for $407, which exceeded the $100 limit I set during my initial call to place the order. I asked about returning the $407 prescription that had been processed against my wishes and I was told nothing could be done. Unhappy with this response I asked to speak with a supervisor. The supervisor after some time said she would request my original call and review it to verify what was communicated. This would take some time, but she would call me back still today. If she could verify that I instructed the representative to not process any prescriptions that were in excess of $100, she would approve the return. Now knowing all of the exact charges for the prescriptions, I got to thinking. What would these cost had i just gone directly to my local retail pharmacy and paid cash without even using my insurance? I called my 2 usual pharmacies, Sam's and CVS. My findings are below. Not one prescription reflected the buy 2 get 1 free value that was communicated to me by several representatives at Cigna. Take special note that one prescription was $407.93 with my insurance through the cost saving Cigna Home Delivery, but without insurance and paying cash at the CVS close to my home I would pay $23.98! I was stunned at the $383.95 price difference. Prescription 1: Cigna Cost $20.00 vs. cash cost at local pharmacy $10 Prescription 2: Cigna Cost $407.93 vs. cash cost at local pharmacy $23.98 Prescription 3: Cigna Cost $17.06 vs. cash cost at local pharmacy $10 Prescription 4: Cigna Cost $17.38 vs. cash cost at local pharmacy $10 Prescription 5: Cigna Cost $28.88 vs. cash cost at local pharmacy $11.99 Prescription 6: Cigna Cost $68.49 vs. cash cost at local pharmacy $24 So, while I am on the phone with CVS the supervisor from Cigna calls me back and leaves a voice mail. She has confirmed that I instructed the representative to not send any prescriptions exceeding $100, and she has authorized the return of the 1 prescription. Well, at least she was able to review the facts as I already knew them. However, this was no longer satisfactory. Cigna had claimed to provide a cost savings and clearly with these 6 prescriptions their claims did not match the facts. So, I called back and asked if I could simply refuse the order and have it returned to them. The supervisor did not want to hear that I had been misled by the generalized cost savings statement they quickly make to customers. I was instructed that if I refused the package it would be received by them, the drugs destroyed and that the cost for the prescriptions would be placed on my account and eventually go to collections if I chose not to pay. If I disputed the charge with my credit card company, I would fail. Why? Because they have had experience with this in the past and they have not had charges reversed because it is their policy to only send prescriptions that were requested and even if the drugs are returned to them and destroyed by them, the customer is still on the hook. I don't have the luxury to test this idea. The bottom line is that Cigna misled me by promising a general cost savings of 33%, which was not reflected in any of my 6 prescriptions. They would only return my one prescription after they verified my original call, and even after having verified the call, they would not stand behind the buy 2 get 1 free cost savings claim. $90 local vs almost $600 Cigna. The latest in our story of customer abuse: Wife orders medicine and pays by credit card. About a week later, I place an order and am told there will be no delivery until my wife pays for her order. I tell them she paid by credit card already. They answer we did not. Then a letter signed by their chief pharmacist arrives in the mail saying no orders until we pay. According to our credit card company, Cigna submitted the credit card invoice two weeks after my wife gave them her credit card info and authorization. Typical. I contact PA Board of Professional Licensing - my second official complaint - and they investigate. Investigator calls me to say he went to address in Horsham, PA and found there is only a warehouse there and that the Pharmacist is in AZ. PA investigator will follow up. Just more of Cigna's aggravation and incompetence. I will now submit my Pennsylvania complaints to the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy. One can file a complaint at this web address: https://pharmacy.az.gov/complaint A tip: I have been getting paper prescriptions from my doctors, copying them and sending them by priority mail (keep those tracking numbers!) with a copy of my health insurance card. The absolute worst. Ask for my prescriptions to be held....they are automatically renewed. Asked for my credit card information not to be stored on file...they store it and charge it anyways. Called to verify my new address has been updated.....two days later they ship to the wrong address. Heaven forbid your doctor sends in the incorrect prescription dose or frequency....you're getting it anyways and you're paying for it. What an absolute joke. read more
