Stopped by for the first time tonight (4 February 2022); owner told me that he only opened four weeks ago. From the outside it looks like a 'head shop' and it kinda is - he's got cigarettes, bongs and water pipes, cheap Chinese pipes with the metal in the bottle of the bowl (which he needs to get rid of; no one should ever smoke those as they literally can be dangerous), vaping mods and tanks (mostly Smok) but not much of a selection of e-juice, and some other head shop items. He even sells scratch-offs, I think, if you're willing to give this rotten state of Maryland even more of your money - lottery is a tax on people who don't understand math.
Look past the 'head shop' portion and you will find one of the largest and best stocked cigar humidors in Maryland. Man, this cat has virtually everything in there! The only brand he isn't carrying at the moment is Davidoff and while I'm not much of a Davidoff fan (their $20+ prices aren't great when you can find $7-$10 cigars that are every bit as good) I do love the Davidoff Winston Churchill and had stopped by the store in hopes of picking one up to smoke tonight. Alas, no Davidoff, so I left with a H. Upmann Cameroon, a Gurkha Real magnum, an Olivia toro with a Connecticut wrapper, and a Smoke Odor Eliminator candle. Had I had more disposable income this week I would have purchased much, much more.
He's got Perdomo (one of my personal favorites), My Father, Ashton, Fuente, LFD, San Cristobal, Gurkha, Padron, Rocky Patel, Nub, Dunbarton, Olivia, H. Upmann, Deadwood, Drew Estate, and a loooooot more, you name it and he's probably got it in stock- not only does he have all of the best cigars he has the largest selection of them as well! He has more choices than both Main Street Cigar in Churchville and Humidour on the Hill in Cockeysville COMBINED; for example, he has most of the cigars that Rocky Patel makes. He also carries bundles of budget cigars which every cigar smoker needs. He has a massive selection of cigar lighters and cutters - Rocky Patel, Zippo, Xikar, and the like, plus a few nice humidors and humidification supplies. He even has a large selection of butane lighter fluid, some nice cigar cases, and Smoke Odor Eliminator candles so your wife won't complain about the house smelling like cigar smoke.
Sadly he currently does not carry any decent briar pipes and only has a couple of pouches of Captain Black on hand. I spoke with him while I was there and encouraged him to expand at least some into the premium pipe tobacco market and I very much hope that he does. Pipe smoking is coming back into 'fashion' slowly but surely, and he'd be making a mistake and losing out on potential business if he doesn't open some accounts with Cornell & Diehl, Peterson, Sutliff, and other producers and distributors of premium pipe tobacco. I personally do enjoy Captain Black, but I'd choose Peterson (formerly under the Dunhill name) Night Cap and more premium pipe tobacco over Captain Black 100% of the time.
I kinda hate writing this review because I would like to keep this store all to myself, haha, but if people don't shop there then he'll not be around long and that would be a serious shame. I didn't get his name, which I should have and will the next time I stop by, but he entered into the humidor with me and spent at least thirty minutes talking to me about cigars and his shop. He may have done so because he thought that I looked kinda sketchy and he may have worried that I was going to stick a few cigars into my pockets, but I don't mind that sort of thing; if he was thinking that, and I don't know that for sure, he definitely realized quickly that I am a serious dude when it comes to fine tobacco. The owner is a nice guy and I enjoyed discussing cigars with him and telling him about my love of briar pipes and fine pipe tobacco.
He, very sadly, does not currently have a smoking lounge but he hopes to get permission from the company that owns the shopping center to have one built. Hopefully he's able to get that done in 2022.
I cannot possibly explain how impressed I was, and am, with his cigar selection. I know that there are larger shops out there but I've personally never had the privilege of walking in to one larger. I'm definitely going to be stopping by his store at least once a month and probably more often than that. I strongly encourage you to stop by and take a look inside his humidor and tell your friends about it as well; I don't want to see this local small business have to close its doors! read more
