I dealt with Wood Gundy for many years. The first two advisors I had were very good. They would call every couple months, tell me what they thought about my investments, maybe some changes we should make. However about three years ago I was assigned a new advisor, I did not hear from that guy once. I have some money sitting in a cash account that was never invested, just left to sit. I called several times but always got assistants etc, NEVER received a call back from my advisor. I ended up moving to RBC, was charged exorbitant fees by Wood Gundy to close my account. I emailed the manager to voice my concerns, he did not respond either. I would not recommend them to any one. read more

I have dealt with a number of advisors over they years but dealing with Wood Gundy is a hold new low. New to the city I received a recommendation from by bank that Wood Gundy would be able to handle all my investment needs, now after three month experience with them I can say I would not recommend them to anyone. I placed my funds with them and it sat uninvested for over a month to busy with RRSP apparently. I gave them instructions not to sell certain securities they ignore instructions, I told them not to convert my US dollar account to Cdn they convert. I have tried for three month to talk to head of advisor group and to date have not received a call back. The only ones I'm able to talk to is fourth place assistant. They invest a large portion of my funds in a group of mutual funds that has a high MER and trailer fee and sell new issue with high fee all to their benefit. My recommendation is to look elsewhere as I am doing. read more
