We're usually a little skeptical of restaurants that hotels recommend to tourists, but we had an absolutely amazing dinner here. Make sure you book a table, as we saw them turning people away. My husband ordered the menu treille muscate and I ordered the sous le platane. Highlights were the scallops (honestly the best we've EVER had), the lamb main course, the wine, and the cheese course. Everything was great, although my beef main course was cooked a little over à point (medium rare) and was a little tough, but the flavors and sides were nice enough that it was okay. Desserts were tasty as well, and great service. Overall we really had a lovely evening, and felt the prices were very fair. Get the scallops!!

The menu prepared wasn't particularly appealing to me but the stars of the lunch were the Seabass and chocolate mousse cake....absolutely phenomenal. We were offered an artichoke with anchovies and the anchovy overpowered the artichoke. The chicory tart with bleu cheese walnuts and bacon was mildly successful. The service was outstanding and the Red wine was another winner. I looked at their dinner menu and they have some lovely pre fixe meals for $32 and $40 euro which looked wonderful.

After it was poured , we all took a sip - that's when my friend discovered that he had just plunged his mouth into a cobweb . We called the waitress , who went to the manager. She came back and gave us this inane excuse that since the season was changing and people were sitting indoors now , they were using a different set of glasses ( the conclusion I got was that none of our glasses had been washed for six months ) . Then she shrugged her shoulders and poured my friend's wine , cobweb and all , into another glass . We asked for the manager. He was too busy circulating around the room and welcoming his friends and completed ignored us . We were not looking for remuneration, a simple apology from him would have been adequate . But as the French say : c'est dommage !

When a chef from a competing village (not a competing restaurant with respect to experience)…read morerecommends a place, you gotta think it's gonna be good. Well, this place was frickin awesome. If by chance you are looking for home-style country looking in the Var region of Provence, this is the place to go! There is no menu. What they's cookin, it what you's eatin. They really don't sound like American southerners but they are country folk in those perched villages. Anyway, we barely understood what was on the menu but we looked around at what everyone else on the patio was eating and went along for the ride. Actually, we were going to say yes and eat there there no matter what anyway. By the way, the patio was one of the nicest we've been to in the region... shaded, clean, quiet, quaint. The setting, service and meal was awesome. The eats were 3-courses. It started with a nice salad that went on to breaded veal that was fried with a mountain of amazing green beans... hearty! The deserts were a large cream-filled pastry and a chocolate opera cake that was like tiramisu but with less alcohol and more chocolate. The accompanying bread was good too... not the tasteless and/or dry stuff you can occasionally get at some restaurants in Provence... France... Europe. In the end, the mean with a half-carafe (half bottle) of the house rosé wine was just 30€ I think... an amazingly inexpensive lunch that rocked our world. This trip in Provence was 3 weeks (last one was 5 weeks) and this restaurant has become my favorite dining experience over the 2 trips. Merci beaucoup.
