Out of all the places I went wine tasting in the Saint Emilion/Bordeaux area, I enjoyed this one the best.
You'll be surprised by the history this family has with this winery. Even more interesting is that the vintner, Anabelle Cruse-Bardinet, once makes one wine every year. At first, you'll think that it's not worth visiting, but that's exactly the opposite. She takes such great care of each step in making this wine and you can truly tell she's proud of her wine.
When we went to the winery, we got a tour with Anabelle herself showing us around. She told us about each pain-staking step she takes to make the perfect Bordeaux.
She'll take you inside her personal home to go to the tasting room. I bought about 4 bottles of her 2001 and 3 of her 2009. Her 2001 is great to drink now because it's at it's peak of aging and very mature. Her 2009, is also great to drink now but she says will get much better in about 3-5 more years.
I don't know if I'll ever get to come back to this winery but I can say that I will be enjoying her wines a long time.
Merci beaucoup, Anabelle! read more
