Best ever! Hair and beard cut on point…read more Call ahead and book Emilio, he is the owner and best barber.

Showed the barber a picture of what I wanted and told him that I wanted "layers." I showed him that I wanted it short in the front and progressively longer until it blended in to the back. Not only did he not give me any layers whatsoever, but he just gave me a generic comb back style. I tried to style it to make it look like the photo I wanted to resemble but to no avail. The photos I showed both had men with hairstyles that were about 2-4 inches on the top and short on the sides. I got the short sides but the top is a mess now. I've come to this barber shop for the past couple of years when I needed to. When I've asked for a "Michael Corleone" cut, they know exactly what I want. I just think that it's redundant to ask for anything other than a fade, taper, or slick back haircut at this point. It's not the first time I've come out of this shop with a hairstyle that wasn't what I wanted. There's also a language barrier since my Spanish is broken and my barber didn't speak English that well. That's nobody's fault but I think if I could communicate better, or had some help from any of the other barbers, I would've had a better experience. If you like tapers and fades or like to lineup your beard, I'd definitely recommend this place. That type of work seems like their speciality, it's just not for me. I need a hair stylist who knows how to style hair past their comfort level and who won't resort to doing what they're used to.

The shop was super clean and looked very professional. Andy did a remarkable job. I was truly blown away by how clean and precise the cut was. Thank you Andy for making me the most confident groom on my wedding day.

I've been here a few times in the past and honestly nothing to really brag about. My usual barber…read moreshop is Friends Barber Shop on Santa Monica, and I usually only come here when I'm in a rush and need a last-minute cut. Today I made an appointment for 2:30 PM. I selected "any barber" because I wanted the fastest available slot. I arrived at 2:25 because I didn't want to be late and needed to be out of there as soon as possible. Right at 2:30 one of the barbers asked if I had an appointment. I said yes. He pointed to a female barber in the corner and said I'd be with her. I had just watched someone sit down in her chair, so I mentioned it. He then went over and asked her how long she'd be, which confirmed I was looking at at least another 30-minute wait. The way it was handled made it seem like this wasn't unusual. After I canceled my appointment, I got a quick, half-hearted "sorry about that." Honestly, if there had been more sincerity in the apology or any sense that the mistake was being owned, I probably wouldn't have written this. But with 15 minutes left before my new appointment at my usual shop, I figured I'd take a minute to share the experience. What's the point of making an appointment if you're going to wait as long as a walk-in? Not sure if this will help anyone, but it was frustrating enough that I felt it was worth sharing. I know quite a few people who go here, and I've always wanted to like the place, but it just doesn't quite hit the mark for me.
