During the meal one other customer appeared and waited at the bar for a take-away and the big lady ate a plate of chips. It was a further indication the restaurant is hardly a hit locally. When asked if we had enjoyed our meal, we said the food was well enough, but stone cold and we recommended heating the plates in future. The waiter remonstrated that nobody had ever complained before, we were unjust and simply mistaken. We will not be returning even though it is only Indian restaurant in this area. We gave two stars because it was at least clean. The ambience was lacking as much as adequate heating.

It's not extremely fancy inside but has sufficiently nice decor. Before the meal, two large pieces of papad are served to the table with mint & yogurt chutney and what I believe to be injipuli, and souf/funnel seeds are served after the meal to clear your palette. For my main course, I ordered chicken saag "extra spicy" with a side of tandoori naan. The entree also came with rice. I was satisfied with the level of spice in the saag, and I thought the dish was overall very flavorful and would certainly recommend ordering this here. The portion isn't enormous but certainly isn't small, so I was happy with the size. I had never ordered non-paneer saag and was pleasantly surprised with how great the dish tasted. The rice was definitely the best tasting rice I've had in Hamburg. I also thought the naan had a great texture after being oven baked and thoroughly enjoyed eating this with spinach and rice.

The food was mediocre unfortunately, so I am not sure I should be doing this review at all. As you all know I am a big fan of the cuisine, and have traveled frequently to the Indian sub-continent itself, but given the quality of cuisine I have come to expect for this region, unfortunately, this fell far short! The portions however were ample and lasted us for two whole days after that first dinner.
