We happened upon it and I was so pleasantly surprised. I think we went three times during our time in Madrid. I loved the counter experience, I'd definitely recommend that option. I wasn't looking to sit down and do all of that upstairs so my review is solely based on counters on the first floor. The locals love this spot and that is quite obvious. I was told in advance that they do and coming here was very enjoyable. The pastries and coffee are very yummy, you won't be disappointed. Makes for the perfect spot if you really want to get your day started but want to grab a quick bite before doing so.

Meal the me came and I almost stopped at the first bar I saw with food when I thought to Yelp up local favs. LA GENERAL cafe topped the list and with "Todo Razon". I picked the combo special of a salad and main dish and selected the spinach salad ( with incredible mustard dressing) and the Curry chicken with mango others received so well. As a drink the roasted beer off their tap was absolutely perfect. And talk about price / value.....all for 25 euros with a tip. HIGHLY recommend if you find your self in Barajas Spain !!!

The avocado+tomato toast was also decent, though needed some amping up with extra virgin olive oil and salt that they provided to season for yourself. The combos also come with a choice of coffee drink -- I did a late, which was very well-made. Overall, somewhat Spanish takes on various breakfast/brunch cuisines, done pretty well. Not a standout spot in Madrid, but a cool spot nonetheless that I'd recommended moderately.
