We decided to eat here our last night in Lisbon. The restaurant was pretty full and there's only one server for the entire place. I think he was serving about 20 customers all by himself. There are also 2 cooks in the kitchen.
I ordered the ribeye and the wife ordered the veal.
First off, as they do in Lisbon, make sure you don't eat the bread and cheese they put at your table. They are not complimentary. But if you want to eat the Cheese & bread, by all means.
I did noticed that if a table does not touch the bread & cheese, I think the server will put it back and will serve it to someone else. This is very unsanitary as I do not know if someone else has touched, breathed or sneezed on it. We are definitely not in Kansas anymore.
The meat that you see displayed by the window when you pass by is the same one they cut up for your order. I wouldn't have any problems with that if it was kept in a closed refrigerator, but it was not. It was left sitting on top of what I can assume is cold air just blowing on it. This can be very dirty also because I don't know if a fly has touched it. I know that it gets cooked and all, but I don't want to take that chance.
The steak was just ok. I had to add extra salt & pepper because it lacked it. There was no steak sauce to accompany it either. The fries was not too bad.
The veal was cooked in a mushroom wine garlic sauce. It was actually good. Although the veal was not as tender as I would have hoped for.
With so many restaurants to choose from within a few feet of each other, I would pass this by if I ever come back to Lisbon. read more
