Came here after doing the Jameson experience. This little gem of a restaurant is a must try. We stopped in a few minutes past six even though the chalkboard said they stopped serving at six. A lot of things were closed due to the bank holiday. The very nice waitress said she would squeeze us in. We were sat right away. She could not have been nicer, she was soooo friendly. Possibly the nicest person weve met in Ireland this far (we've been here 10 days) I just don't even have words for how nice she was and how funny too. We ordered some delicious food, seafood chowder, monkfish tacos, and fish and chips. The fish and chips was terrific. We've had it at many places. This was slightly different, lighter but incredibly delicious and the portions were really large. Of course we had to have a Murphys since we were in Cork. The waitress (forgot to ask her name I was so charmed by her) was working really hard. There's only a few tables, but she really spent time with each table, telling them about the food and really asking them about themselves and chatting. She even offered to make a phone call for us because as American tourists we were having a hard time trying to figure out how to make a phone call. lol. We didn't feel rushed at all even though we knew they were past closing time. I heard this was a newer restaurant so please , go here and make sure they're successful because it is definitely a hidden gem right off the main street. read more
