A lovely neighborhood park with amazing views of the ocean! The park was clean and well maintained - they offered bathrooms as well! Swings, slides, spiny rides - you name it. Our daughter had a blast! After our daughter enjoyed the park, we walked around the trails and took so photos of the flowers and ocean views. Why is it called Dinosaur Caves Park? Apparently per the information area, there used to be a massive dinosaur statue that was eventually taken away - caves? I did see a cave or 2 when we were checking out the ocean views. Overall, I think Dinosaur Caves Park is a great place to get out and stretch your legs - it's especially nice to let the kiddos get some energy out before heading back to your roadtrip!

The playground has that wonderful jumpy, foamy floor it was clean and in great shape. I can tell the place wasn't being used as much, as there was very little wear on the ground. The parking was easy and plentiful all around the neighborhood. Picnic tables are around in the shade and the really cool part about this park is the view! Walk up the hill behind the playground and it's breathtaking. The playground is right up on Wadsworth next to Judkins middle school. My 1 year old enjoyed tugging on the seesaw and going down the winding slide. If you are down in downtown Pismo and need to kill a few minutes with a toddler bring them here, they will enjoy it.

There is a large grassy area to play on. There are a few picnic tables to eat on. There is a fantastic overlook to see the ocean. There is a semi hidden path to get down to the ocean. The playground is great. Part of the playground is in the shape of a ship. There is plenty of equipment to climb on and a few slides to enjoy. There are toddler swings but there aren't any regular swings. Part of the playground has wood chips underneath, part has soft padding. The playground has a larger and smaller playgrounds. There is a small parking lot for visitors to this park ... you enter the neighborhood at Hermosa to get to the parking lot. Near the parking lot there are about 4 picnic tables w/ BBQs and a horse shoe pit. There is also a small playground area for children. If you head up the hill a short walk to the top of the park, there's a beautiful ocean view. There is a nearby bench and ocean view point, but no beach access.

But you can see it once you see other people hiking the same route. The view itself on the way up is beautiful, your able to smell the ocean smell, enjoy the view and just take it all in. Really green everywhere, watch out for the cow droppings because they do roam. If you lucky you can see them afar enjoy their grass and space. I would say it was maybe about 1.5 miles back and forth, I want to try the loop next time but these was just a quick little hike before we stuff ourselves with food!

There are multiple routes to take depending on which outlooks you'd like to see! I did the Spring to Spring route which totaled to 4.7 miles. It was relaxing, not challenging at all. Parking is available but if you don't want to pay and don't mind a little walk, I parked on the dirt across Ventena restaurant for free!
