After successfully using the internet to find about a dozen photographers (no hits, all misses) in the Anchorage area, I knew I needed more direction. Finding Lauren Roberts (the brains, talent, and amazingness behind Beauty Board Media) was the answer to my questions. Even while on a work-trip outside of Alaska, Lauren fielded my call and took some time to sit in a quiet place and chat with me about what exactly I was looking to do. I wanted my proposal to my girlfriend to be caught on camera so we could share that special moment with our friends and family all over the world. No big deal. Lauren and I spoke for days before she even started talking about the cost of this cross-country production I was planning. A couple from Texas celebrating the 4th of July in Anchorage with a proposal under the fireworks at a small college summer league baseball game. She was almost as excited about this as I was! The words "swoon" and "romantic" were thrown around excessively. Lauren promises, Lauren delivers. She brought along a second shooter to catch the moment in photos while she masterfully shot our video. At the time of writing this review the video has not yet been completed; we asked Lauren to take extra time and provided her recently with some other home video "gems" to work with. Like I said, her promise of a keepsake production cannot be ignored. It's amazing what Beauty Board Media has done for past clients (check out the website) and what she's done for Priscilla and me. The photos are outrageous. We can't stop looking at them. A few are being printed and framed once we decide which of them we like more than the others. It's a difficult task when each picture is a masterpiece. Our friends and family love the pictures. Our only regret is that Lauren is in Alaska and we're in Texas! We can't thank her enough. Her talent and passion captured our engagement; something no amount of money could recreate or duplicate. And now we have a way to revisit it forever. If you have any questions just message me. I'll always be a fan.

I am 77 years old and I wanted to do something special and personal for my family this year for Christmas. I decided to do my family DNA heritage research and have a photograph done. Way not my favorite thing to do and I kept procrastinating until it was middle of November. Did that bother Renee? If it did she never showed it...even when I'm sure she was pulling her hair. I wanted Black and White and she delivered wayyyyy more than I thought possible at my age. She worked with me until we got something I liked and hoped my family would love. They did! Renee is more than a Professional. She's a Professional with heart and desire to give you the best!

At the consultation he learned about my dog's physical limitations and places he loved to go when he was a puppy but can no longer get to now, and the sites he chose for the photo shoot were perfect. Lake shots, mountain shots, fall colors, and great natural light. Both he and Kaitlan are clearly dog people, and did whatever it took for my dog to feel comfortable. David even waded into the lake up to his shins (in October!) to get some great water pictures. He captured my old guy's spirit in photos I will treasure forever. The pictures he snapped when I didn't even realize he had started shooting are some of my favorites - just a girl and her dog outside, happy as can be. The pictures are amazing, and I feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to be on the other end of David's camera with my best friend. It was so hard to pick the best ones, but with Carol's help, I narrowed it down. I'm sure I'll be back to buy more prints over the next few months. David's talent takes my breath away and his ability to read light and color is simply amazing. He even managed to make me look good in the pictures. He is an amazing, kind, compassionate person, and his photographs are above and beyond anything I ever expected. I would recommend him and his studio to anyone and everyone.

This concept is very important to remember when your Uncle Dan or your cousin Sally, who has a really nice new camera that she's just been itching to use, offers to do your wedding photography for you. Please turn and run directly to Jamie Lang. This woman is absolutely an artist. She was recommended by friends, and I only had to look at her website to know that I wanted her as our wedding photographer. She understands all the little nuances that take a photo from being "nice" or "kinda neat" to "absolutely breathtaking." Not only that, but she's a total hoot, and a pleasure to work with. You can tell that she loves what she does, and is excited to collaborate with you on your ideas for what the perfect wedding photos should be. On the day of the wedding, she was everywhere at once, yet unobtrusive (she caught a ton of moments that I didn't even realize she was there for), and she helped us to laugh during some tense moments with my insane father. In fact, probably some of our best laughing/smiling moments were captured when she was cleverly zinging him from behind her camera. We spent a lot of time and energy planning and putting our wedding together, and the evening went by in a blur. Upon looking at the photos for the first time, I was amazed at how well she had captured everything, and how beautifully. It was like reliving the night again. That's what you want in your wedding photography. If you want to ensure that you'll get it, then go with Jamie.
