State farm adjuster came and spent 10 minutes on my roof and then they rejected my claim saying the only damage was that my 11 roof vents were all destroyed and replacing them would be under my $1000 deductible. I got an estimate from Deschutes Roofing to replace them for $1605. State Farm would only have to pay $605. they rejected it and told me to find someone who will do it for under my deductible. this has been going on for over a month. I have never filed a claim for auto or home in the 13 years I have been with State Farm. The office staff is very cordial but they just keep saying, claims are not their job and there is nothing they can do. so be aware if you ever have to file a claim State Farm will fight you at every turn. I contracted with another roofing company for $6500 to do all the roofing repairs and I will have to pay for it all.

There was a small issue with my billing and they called me to multiple times until we were able to get the issue resolved (I was grateful I didn't have to chase them down). I worked mostly with Ryan and Rebecca. They were super friendly and very thorough, when needed. I appreciated the fact they educated me when I didn't understand something. At the same time, they didn't overwhelm me with unnecessary information or say the same thing over and over again. The information was clear and concise. One of the best parts about this insurance group, it is locally owned by a great family! Always a good thing. Plus, you know the people you are speaking with in the office. Bonus, if you need to go into the office, you can drop by the Deschutes Tasting room for a free tasting afterwards!

I spoke with Operations Manager, Kristina Olson, for nearly an hour and she happily - no, gleefully - ran through quite a few scenarios to help me understand the policies in more detail. She listened to my concerns and goals and set out to craft policies that not only surpassed my goals, but saved me hundreds of dollars in the process. She left no stone un-turned and seemed genuinely thrilled to be helping me save money as we watched the rate repeatedly drop. I daresay she even made it seem fun... By the time she was done, I'd saved several hundred bucks on the home policies and almost $100 on my auto policy while maintaining the exact same coverage. I've never been impressed by an insurance company. Like, ever. Until now. One more thing that I really loved: my call went right here to the Bend office and not some far-off call center - this allowed us to chit-chat about relevant local things while the system was crunching numbers. Not being placed on hold or subjected to lengthy spans of dead-air was nice.
