This carousel is really pretty and a striking feature at Bridge Street. I'm happy they kept it…read moreduring the remodel and moved it from its former location on the west side to the far east side. Currently, it is more "tucked away" on a road that parallels Research Park Blvd./Rideout Rd., and that road is not used much. I used to take Momma on that back road to watch the carousel which made a nice memory for it! It was a way more prominent feature on the west side and a pretty visual focal point. This was when the larger lake on the west still existed, and they actually had a gondola boat you could rent. All of the features (animals) etc., that you ride on the carousel move, none are stationary, which I would think is a nice bonus! Current costs are $3 per ride or $10 for 4 rides. Apparently, they don't accept cash for payment at the carousel. As you would expect, it does not operate in severe weather. Again, I'm glad it's at Bridge Street, there are a couple of focal points at BS and this is certainly worth stepping out of your way to take a look!

I decided this carousel deserves five stars because ALL of the horses (and other animals) actually move up and down. (I have been on carousels where one line of horses was stationary and they required the smaller kids to sit on those.) There are several other animals to ride besides horses - such as a tiger, a cat, or a rabbit. There was also at least one spinning teacup, and (if I remember correctly) a bench or two. I think you can buy a seasonal pass but I'm not sure how much it is.

It's a really great idea that they have slippers at the bathroom hallway so you don't get your socks wet in anything that might be in the floor of the bathroom. Very thoughtful. Snacks and drinks can be purchased there, you can go in and out as much as you need to get stuff for your kids. It's great time! Just go and do it.

The bartender working was on the other side of the bar and mostly on her phone while there. Which we all thought was odd seeing as this is a tipped position. If you're given the opportunity to make tips, why would you choose to not be present? Honestly, we all had to flag the bartender down more than once. We eventually bowled while here and the lanes, balls, etc, were perfectly fine with the exception of dead spots on the lanes. You couldn't slide on your finish because you'd just come to a full stop. Also weird, they had the foul lights turned on...this was a Friday just after noon. Who is their target demographic on an early weekday afternoon? We had a number of food dishes as well, including pizzas, quesadillas, wings, etc. The quesadillas were pitiful. I honestly thought they were pita chips at first. The wings were fine. The Pizzas were pretty good. Another oddball observation, we were given almost the equivalent of punch bowls for salsa and ranch. Even more odd, we received not a single serving utensil for the food nor the sauces. All in all, not horrible but just not great. It'll honestly 100% depend on the reason you're there.

Most the things were inconvenient, or just broke. The teens were more than just exasperation and annoying. Laser tag was no good either. They kept the straps even though they didn't work. The lady was not helpful and just told us to check if it was and barely even helped us with whatever we needed. It felt vexatious. Kids seemingly broke the rules yet the team members didn't care. They literally watched them do it and enforced zero rules about it. No thank you, no greeting, just them with a straight face just not even caring about anyone or anything. The place is good, and fun too, but the employees are aggravatingly unhelpful, and they seemingly let the staff just do this? Please, no.

We held our son's 10th birthday here this weekend and it was a really great time and we definitely…read moremade a good choice. We had the first party of the day which was great, as the gym wasn't super crowded. The party room was a good size with huge windows that overlooked the kids side of the climbing gym. It easily accommodated 12ish kids, parents and family. It included a full size fridge/freezer, ice machine, and kitchenette. Cutlery and paper products were included. I would definitely recommend bringing table cloths. We bought some and then forgot, whoops. Our party host was Dawson, and he was a phenomenal guy. Super helpful, extremely patient with a herd of rabid cats- I mean, kids- and was just a genuinely nice guy. The kids gym was nice, a bit smaller than I was expecting. We've been to similar gyms elsewhere (see reviews) and this one left a bit to be desired. I wish it was bigger with more walls. Even still, there wasn't a long wait with the exception of the city skyline part. The kids also enjoyed going to the "bigger" room, which is standard indoor climbing walls, that are double the height and not themed. After orientation, the kids ended up with about an hour and a half of climbing and a half hour in the party room for food and cake. This worked out great though the kids were bummed when they couldn't go back after the party to climb. The gym definitely gained a bunch of new customers after this party, many of the parents were thrilled to find this place. The price for the party was really great too. For those who are interested, they do also have a bouldering section (age 14+ only) auto belay and standard belay walls, climbing clubs (kids and adults), meeting rooms and other classes (yoga, etc). All in all, I definitely recommend High Point Climbing. If you do a party here, definitely put a time 15 minutes prior to the actual start on the invites so that kids can get geared up and oriented asap so they can maximize climbing time.

This is the Spirit Airline of paint classes. I have never experienced a paint class that was so…read morestressful in my life. The booking site says limited class sizes but that is not the case, they had 43 people crammed on top of each other trying to do the class that they paid for and were treated like cattle. Don't expect to be sipping while painting because they don't have enough staff on had to get out one drink during your 2 hour class. Also half the class gave up on trying to paint the picture we were supposedly being taught and the other half was completely covered in paint because the method being taught was wade up a paper towel and dab the painting while the canvases were literally touching each other because everyone was shoulder to shoulder. I have been to many paint classes at other vendors and if the class involves paint slinging or dabbing then a "extra messy" clause was always listied on the booking site Pinots palette offered no such clause so paint at your own risk. So will you leave with a painting? Probably. Will you have fun doing it? Depends on your sense of humor and who you're with, just don't expect to be able to have a drink to sip or a place to set it down at.
