A tacos chain for your cravings. They offer customize tacos bowl, where you can pick your own toppings and sauces.

Had this catered. Well cooked, came warm, presented nicely. Chips were crunchy, fresh and delicious. Loved the pico de gallo. Guacamole was decent. Chicken and beef were seasoned well. Great catered event! Would definitely consider them again for the next event.

Stopped by to get breakfast, got a breakfast burrito. The server took my order and quickly prepped my burrito. It wasn't too busy when I visited, they had inside seating and some out door seating along the walkway. Will visit for some other food items next time.

For years, I never go to Chronic Tacos because I wasn't sure if their foods were any good. We've have had Chronic Tacos lately at the office and it was good so I decided to give this place a try. The food here is delicious! We ordered the breakfast bowls with chicken tonight and we were so glad we came here. Breakfast bowl came with eggs, tots, your choice of one protein, rice & beans and all the greens you want. ;) We added red bell peppers at home. It was an excellent dinner. Service was good. All employees were nice and efficient. The restaurant was clean.

Burrito

I decided to give chronic tacos a try after finding out it is owned by Paul Walkers brother. So far I have tried the chicken and asada burrito. Food was delivered hot both times, the ingredients are definitely fresh, and the fresh lime and spicy salsa is tasty. But I do feel like everything else is a bit bland? The asada doesn't have the typical flavor you'd expect, tastes like it needs salt. Beans and rice was kind of a miss too. If the ingredients had more flavor/slightly more salt, more cilantro and onion, this would be a solid burrito.

The service is 10/10 very welcoming and friendly. Really good chronic tacos, the salsas are well made. You get your tacos nice and served, you get what you paid for, which is a full taco with meat and not just little pieces of meat. The environment is also well lit, clean and great music. My family and I really enjoyed our tacos. We will definitely come back.

Honestly In comparison to other chronic tacos , the food here is OKAY nothing too great. What I really couldn't believe was the portion of guac . They charge 2.50 and this is what it is? Ridiculous really.. on top of this employees talk to each other which isn't the problem , problem is they keep cursing LOUDLY

My food was really good, but the service was great. I wish I knew the guy's name that help me. I would like to have given him a shout out.

Ask the Community - Chronic Tacos

Do they serve breakfast all day?

yes they sell breakfast all day

Ordered a salad and they didn't put dressing in the bag. Hubby had to drive back to get it. Worker said they don't automatically give it to you because some people don't like dressing. Wtf? They should at least ask if you want it or not.

That's ridiculous... they forgot my carne asada in my carne asada fried before ??

We came in on a Saturday night and it wasn't very busy. Both, my husband and I had the enchiladas combo, he went with the red sauce and I had the green one (salsa verde). Enchiladas were okay but my black beans were not tender, and the rice had some hard pieces. Food on my plate was lukewarm and the cheese wasn't totally melted on my enchiladas. :( Generally, we always have good experience with other Avila's locations but something is missing here. Service was good. Our waitress was super nice and attentive but not overwhelming. I remember asking for the pronunciation of her name then because it's an unusual name but I totally forgot it now since it has been a few weeks. :) 3.5/5

We love El Ranchito, but the one at this La Paz location did not measure up…read more One of our favorite things to order at El Ranchito is the Table Side Guacamole which is the BEST guacamole one can get anywhere. But this location does NOT have this on their menu which actually stunned all four of us sitting at the table. This is one of the main reasons we frequent the Avila's chain and needless to say, this was very disappointing. Because they did not have the table side guac, we had to settle for the premade stuff which was bland and tasted nowhere near as flavorful as the Table Side Guacamole we have had at every other Avila's El Ranchito we have frequented throughout Orange County. This location did have a low carb fajitas option which was interesting. It did NOT come on a sizzling skillet like the regular dish, and the beans were whole (not refried). Instead of rice, they give you salad. I did not love the dressing for the salad btw. I am glad they have this low carb option, but it is significantly different from the normal Sizzling Fajitas version which they do offer here. Service was decent. And we loved their large outdoor seating area covered by shade trees.

The food was good, decent, not mind-blowing, but definitely satisfying, and the service was excellent. The vibe is chill and old-school, giving off a relaxed, nostalgic feel that many will enjoy. El Cortez offers good, affordable Mexican food compared to other places in the area, which was a pleasant surprise. I ordered the 3-item combo, which included a hard-shell taco, two soft tacos, rice, beans, and chips, all for $20. That's a fantastic price for the amount of food. My friends ordered the enchiladas, and my partner enjoyed a chimichanga for around $16.

I went to El Cortez last week and here is my experience: SCAM! Terrible in every way! Swindlers!…read moreBait and switch service by the bartender and the owner. DISHONEST! Read all the one-star reviews; they all say the same thing! Watered-down drinks (I'd bet my left bicep that all of the high-end alcohol in those displayed bottles has been replaced with either water or low-quality booze), hard sales pitch on upgrading the alcohol and selling extra shots (which we declined), but when we got the bill, it showed drinks we NEVER ordered plus dishonestly upcharged alcohol that was never ordered and then added on to the bill! Prices on the menu different than what they charge--they play dumb and have been for years (check all the reviews). Felt like I was back in Mexico--muy autentico! This wasn't a "one off" because it happened again on a different visit, to a large group of us. And when we complained, the bartender gaslit us and refused to remove the wrong charges and dishonest upcharges to cheat us out of our hard-earned money. Criminals! Thieves! Scam artists! We vowed to never, EVER return again because this is clearly part of their standard dishonest "business practices." The owner is one shady individual (a nice elderly couple outside told us that this restaurant is known in this area for being highly dishonest and disreputable), and the greedy owner clearly doesn't care about the people who dine here. Bait and switch is the name of the game at this establishment, plus tiny portions of subpar but overpriced food that gives stomach issues (AKA FOOD POISONING) as a bonus, stale chips, extra charges for everything possible (hoping the customer won't notice), different prices than listed, bartenders who are told to water down drinks and tack on lots of extra charges to the bill to cheat customers, servers who seem terrified of the volatile and hostile management (we saw the owner screaming at staff), dirty crumbs all over the chairs and seats because there apparently is no working busboy to wipe up the tables and booths properly...I could go on. The ONLY good thing about this place was the salsa--muy spicy with good flavors. Other than that, there was nothing to redeem this squalid little hole in the wall. Watch your bills carefully, people! And ask yourselves this question: how does a business like this stay operating for 30+ years when there are never any people dining there (it's empty 90% of the time), they open late and close early, they serve inedible food, they don't care if diners never return due to terrible food and watered-down drinks and false charges, and they play games with the alcohol, drinks, and pricing in order to CHEAT customers? Plus they don't care if a cockroach or two lingers about? Hmmm, seems I should get my laundry done there... maybe the owner should "tell" me about the "car?" ;) Maybe this place should be investigated by law enforcement or elected officials, if you know what I mean. (Uh oh, hope I haven't jeopardized my life by telling the truth about this place, lol.) Final verdict: Dine (or drink) here at your own risk.
