It was near my house and had next day availability, so I took a chance and, gah, I'm glad I did. I saw Jana. She cut my bangs exactly how I wanted them and dusted off my ends. The price was insanely reasonable. In hindsight I wish I'd tipped a little heavier because this is the least expensive hair cut I've ever gotten in Charlotte (lived here 18 years). And it is a GREAT cut! Jana was super nice, easy to talk to, LISTENED to me when I said "yes" or "no" to her questions about my cut. All in all very happy with the experience. The salon itself is very cozy. Unpretentious comes to my mind. It was clean, functional, and cute but didn't feel like it was trying too hard. Parking threw me a bit: I couldn't tell if they have their own parking spots in the two surrounding lots. There were signs about permits, which I didn't have. I ended up parking on the street that ran perpendicular to 10th. Not a big deal but mentioning in case it helps others plan. Booking was a breeze, I made the appt. online without any issues. Definitely look into this spot! I'm happy I took a chance.

I did a consult with her to go over what I wanted. She listened to me and gave honest feedback. She also wanted to know what my last colorist did on my hair which I feel is going above and beyond. She's always been available by text to receive hair inspo pics and she wrote out a thoughtful list of Charlotte must-go-to restaurant/bars just because I was asking. I've been wanting lighter brown hair for a long time now to warm up my fair skin tone - something that my previous stylists have not been able to really achieve. Katy got it on one shot and she gave me a killer layered cut, too. There's no reason to ever look elsewhere for a stylist in Charlotte.

She is wonderful with color. Most recently we went super short and I tell you what I get compliments on my cut at least once a month from various strangers. I used to think her strength was color, but truthfully it's both. She can translate what I'm asking for to something that works for my hair type. She does continuing education with Aveda often and I trust her implicitly to know what's right for my hair. She has me looking good always! My review of Evergreen - I only ever deal with Nadine, but I notice how happy she is there. The other stylists and front desk folks appear nice and the vibe is good. It's an Aveda salon and they have all the newest products. My only complaint would be the bathroom. Thanks to the complimentary diet cokes, I have to use it often and it always looks like it could use a touch up. I think it's the minuscule trash can - get a bigger one that way two paper towels won't fill it up and make it look like the bathroom hasn't been cleaned!

After trying several different places, and sick of the overpriced corporate cuts, I was about to throw in the towel until I heard about Robin at All About You. She did a fantastic job on both my cut and color, (single color and long hair with layers), and the price was by far the most reasonable I have yet to come across in Charlotte. Robin has been cutting hair with the salon for over eight years now, so I was instantly at ease in her chair. (Keep in mind this is coming from a girl who can't stand getting the slightest of trims.) The salon itself is adorable, in an old house divided up into many rooms and nooks that offer both a comfortable and personal experience during your hair cut. I especially loved all the little framed quotations that were hung at every turn (see pics.) All About You offers other spa services as well so I will be back very soon to try those out. A very cozy, quaint place that delivers a professional job? Yes please. Robin, I think it's safe to say you are stuck with me!

This is a salon that specializes in African American hair care needs including natural care, braids, weaves and updos. Shantel started where all good hair stylists begin...at the shampoo bowl. She gave my hair a good cleanse using quality salon products by scrubbing my scalp thoroughly yet gingerly. This is normally the point where most stylists loose their patience with my super curly, super thick hair and begin to tug and pull or slack off on the washing process. Not Shantel, despite my apologies, she trudged on without commenting on my crazy hair with some interesting and entertaining beauty shop conversation to boot. She then patiently and gently detangled my hair. She applied a protectant, sectioned it and blew it dry with minimal heat. Once dry, she went on to straighten my hair section by section applying just enough product to give a nice sheen while avoiding a greasy weight. After straightening, she TRIMMED my hair perfectly (and I do mean TRIM). She took off only what was necessary to give me a healthy head of hair and beautiful shape while retaining length. She then went back through and gave my hair a nice bend and styled it. After taking some pictures for me, she even wrapped it. The price was reasonable given the density and length of my natural hair, the quality of the products and the high caliber of the result. I don't straighten my hair often, but I will definitely be using Shantel for all future blowouts. The results are unparalleled.

My mother has been here for 2 weeks & wanted to get her hair washed, colored, & curled. I made a last-minute appointment yesterday, after reading the good reviews on yelp. When we got to the salon, Cheresa took my mother right away and had her hair washed. Shortly after, my daughter began having her hair washed. My mother got a wash, condition, color, trim, blow dry, and curl. My daughter's hair was washed, conditioned, blow dried, and flat ironed. The care and good energy that Cheresa showed my family was as if she were doing her own mother and daughter's hair. On top of that, when the other stylists & patrons heard it was my daughter's birthday, they helped me sing happy birthday, in the Stevie Wonder version. Lastly, I told them that my daughter is a singer, and they allowed her to perform her version of "Rise Up," by Andra Day. This salon is really living up to its name. My daughter enjoyed her birthday, getting a beauty treatment like a Unique Lady! When we were leaving, another stylist said to me, "You all are family now."
