12/14/24 Getting breakfast for tomorrow! Arrived and ordered two of their holiday donuts, chocolate milk and their bacon, egg and cheese sandwich. Wide variety of donuts. I asked if he could do ham instead. He checked and they didn't have it. Paid for the order and he said the sandwich would be ready shortly. Small wait and received. Small donut store. I moved to Fresno in 1999, but I don't think I started eating at Christy's Donuts until my friend, Ann got her 1st car when we were seniors in high school. Then, I brought someone I was dating here who was older and Caucasian, freaked out about eating here. Ambiance- It is not in the nicest part of town, however, you can't miss it on the north east corner of Fresno and Belmont. It really is a Fresno Staple. They sell burgers, fries, Donuts and Chinese food. It's older and very hole in the wall. Service- They are there to serve you. It's has places to sit, but there is no waiting. It's mostly self serve. Food- My favorites are the chow mein, bbq pork and fried shrimp. Hands down, the best bbq pork in Fresno, I don't care what anyone says. Other people's favorites are their spicy chicken and I've been told that their burgers and fries are amazing. I have yet to try them. Not gonna lie, it's an old establishment, a scary location right off Belmont and Fresno Street where you might get cat-called and mistaken for a street worker. They barely reopened and I wanted to try it out again. I ordered the chow mein with bbq pork and kung pao chicken. The entrees were good but the chow mein lacked vibrancy in color and flavor. I had to add the soy sauce packet which I hardly ever have to do with Chinese food in general, it's usually seasoned well. I give chances but that'll probably be my last. Wanted to try one of their cheeseburgers. When I ordered a double cheeseburger the Asian lady asked me small or large in which I answered "what do you mean?" she's said large patty or small patty. I've been a loyal customer and will always stop by when I'm in the area and starving. But $3 for a little bottle of soda is just ridiculous. I wanted a fountain drink but the gal told me that she only have bottle of soda. I was fine. Food was only $7 and my whole total was $10 something. I don't have a problem paying that at all. Clean and well laid out, they have everything you could want at lunch, hamburgers, fries, Chinese, ice cream, and of course doughnuts. The Chinese food is ok, nothing to write home to my Taiwanese mom about..you will need to use the soy sauce and chili sauce they offer. The fried rice was bland as all get out.
