Our dog woke up with an awful eye issue and we knew we couldn't wait for our regular vet on Monday. I called several emergency vets that I found on Yelp and this place said that they had no current wait for emergency patients and they had two vets on staff today. She encouraged me to head right in so I did. We were there in about 10 minutes and they took my pup's weight and vitals right away - a great sign. However, we then waited 90 minutes in an animal-crowded waiting room to see a doctor. For 45 of those 90 minutes there was a very loud scary dog in the waiting room that everyone was trying to avoid. Not the dog's fault - he/she was just scared. But the front desk staff and the other staff did nothing to remove the dog and put the dog in an exam room, despite having multiple exam rooms open at the time. It was a miserable 90 minutes, trying to keep my dog calm and comfortable, knowing we could have been at any of the other vets that had said they had a 30-60 minutes wait. I get it - this is a vet that sees regular patients that had scheduled appointments. That's totally appropriate but then don't tell people on the phone that there's no wait. And don't pack in a bunch of pets that are struggling to be around each other with tons of open exam rooms. The vet I spoke with was very nice and knowledgeable but I didn't get to be with my dog for the exam because by then they'd run out of exam rooms. It's hard to let them take your dog back when you don't know them and your dog doesn't know them. All in all, a bummer of an experience. I'm sure it's a place people enjoy for regular pet vet needs, but trust me - don't use it for emergencies.

They emailed me back first thing Monday morning, providing information. They followed up with a text to see if I wanted to move forward and when I said yes they called. I was able to get in next day! The evening before I set up my portal account and sent my pups records. On appt day, we were greeted so warmly, like they already knew us, and placed us into a private room. I had a nice chat with a vet tech while she asked questions, and 5 mins later we were with the Dr! He sat on the floor with my nervous pup, got to know us and then took her back for assessment. He avoided intrusive procedures, rather offering less expensive alternatives and gave an over all heath assessment. They checked me out and the cost was very reasonable. While on my way home, they texted lab results that my pup was healthy and good to go! I am so happy I found Hess Ridge. You can tell they love what they do and care to build relationships with you and your fur baby.

It's really hard to rate/review AESC because there are 2 sides…read more 1. Did they take care of my dog, talk to me about what was going on and offer options? Yes. So I'm thankful for that. 2. However, they are so busy all the time. They see your pet based on if the animal is an emergency or not. But what qualifies as an emergency? My dog had been throwing up for hours, including blood and she threw up a massive amount in the waiting room. Still took 3 hours to be seen. The waiting is very frustrating. My pet isn't feeling good and I can't explain to her what/why/how etc. It's quite stressful and worrisome. (Example: there was a Great Dane that had a run in with a porcupine, clearly had a dozen quills in his nose and was in the waiting room for over an hour. We left before he was seen but to me, that's an emergency!) Since they do surgeries etc. there should be a separate entrance for people coming in for surgery or speciality care verses folks walking in with a hurt or sick pet. Separate the two out as much as possible and have plenty of vets and techs to handle both. Unfortunately, this is the only Vet ER in Parker so there isn't another option close by. Just be prepared for a long wait time. Take a book, water, snacks & phone charger. If you can avoid, don't bring your children, they will be so bored.

Kerry M. was our vet and she walked us through every step, educated us, was patient, and was so kind to Iverson and us. I had to cancel the first appointment because I was not ready to say goodbye. They offer a cancellation window up to 4 hours before your appointment and allow you to carry over your deposit to when you reschedule, with no extra fee. So thankful for this understanding. The cost may feel steep, but the in-home service is so so worth it. Iverson had his last meal while the pain meds were administered. It was a distraction where he didn't even notice. He felt safe and comfortable in his home, surrounded by family and on his favorite couch. He was then given a sedation medicine where he drifted into a nap on my chest. When the final medicine was given, he felt no pain as he crossed the rainbow bridge. I have heard horror stories from other in home service companies. I had 3 friends use Caring Pathways and that is why we went with them. I am so grateful and thankful that we chose to work with Caring Pathways. It helps with acceptance and closure and provides a peaceful passing. I will forever recommend them to other family and friends who need to say goodbye to a family pet member.

I went to a second appointment, that was to be a simple follow up appointment to the first, which turned into a whole new scary possibility of a growth in the spleen. The next step was an ultra sound appointment. Something felt off to me. I cancelled the appointment. Went to another vet, did indeed do the ultra sound but not before spending a very long time in a consultation, not a quick 15 minutes. The ultra sound found nothing in the spleen. I was told by the 2nd vet, that the spleen can move and what was originally "seen" on xrays was probably a tip of the spleen. I understand that medicine is an opinion. However, I think that a little more common sense and not quickly ordered tests, exams and appointments would have served my dog, as well as myself, better. One last thing, after spending thousands of dollars, I was told that I have a healthy Aussie by vet #2.

The vet tech took her time to make sure he was comfortable and calm. Then the vet Dr. Shekarchian spent the first five minutes on the ground with my dog to make sure he was comfortable. He wasn't rushed. He wanted to first make sure my dog was okay before he did his check up. By the end of the visit my dog was taking treats and accepting pets (that's a big deal). Highly recommend this place if you want to be treated like family!
