Recently it took…read moreabout 14 weeks (March 26-July 8) to have a simple removal of mortgage from title and change of name on title done. During this time, the paralegal doing this work provided evasive answers when I called to get a progress report and one occasion blatantly lied to. I called on a Thursday and was assured that the following Monday that a lawyer would be reviewing the documents. Two weeks later when I called, I was told "I'm just starting work on everything now...". Finally in July, I received a call to come to the office to pick up the documents that were supposed to be mailed out! The only thing done in any expedient manner was the depositing of the cheque given for services rendered. I'm sure that other staff in this office do great work but if you need anything related to real estate and you are concerned about timelines, I would suggest this firm is not the one you want to deal with.

I expressed my displeasure and left. When I got home I searched "reasonable notary publics" I contacted one in Port Coquitlam close to Coquitlam Center. I was quoted a price of $40. I set up an appointment and took my papers in a couple of days later. When completed I was told that because it was so easy the fee would be $30. That's $50. cheaper than Rose Miller.
