I was very skeptical of talk therapy - this wasn't something I really wanted to do! But it seemed apparent I needed to try something new and I'm laughing now at my stubbornness. Marina has been a wonderful listener, and although sometimes just that sounding board is enough, she is **much, much** more than that. I feel motivated, challenged, and inspired by our sessions. She's given me new perspectives and ideas that I hadn't considered before. She isn't afraid to give me honest direct feedback that challenges me, but she delivers it gently enough to help me hear the message. That is what has been the most helpful, knowing and trusting that she's going to engage with me on such an honest level, regardless of how she thinks I may feel or react. She is a fun problem solver and super creative. Lastly, I'm excited to start bringing my husband to a few sessions with me. She's highly trained in the Gottman method of couples therapy/marriage counseling and I feel very confident this will be a game-changer in our relationship, just as our one-on-one therapy has been a game-changer in my personal life.

As a therapist myself, I was in search of a professional to help me see the things I couldn't see for myself. A professional to ask the "appropriate" questions to surface the real issues that I had longed to release. I also desired to work with someone balanced - meaning not just strictly scientific in their approach but spiritual as well. I was only able to see Aileen for a brief 2 months or so, but as my intention was set to "be well", and Aileen understanding the short duration we would have together she provided the necessary work for me to release attachments to the past, fears and also helped me to find my voice, step up and step out into the world to fulfill my purpose in life. I appreciate Aileen for the quality of work she provided for me and the variety of techniques she used. It wasn't always just sitting on the couch and talking but there was interactive work involved. I appreciate having something to take home and work on from one session to the next and Aileen offered a variety of practices, meditations, visualizations and other suggestions that I could pick and choose from... or not, if I so chose. I recommend her services to anyone seeking an understanding and effective therapist. One who holds a space of love, openness, and yet directive. I also encourage anyone to join her Meditation Monday class as I also found new insights into freeing my "Self", new friends and community there as well. Aileen is a 10+ and I am forever grateful for the freedom I experience in the present. Thank you, Aileen Nealie :) Cheers, Howard

She took the time to get to know me and built a therapeutic and ETHICAL relationship based on trust and respect. Before becoming Aileen's patient, I was seeing a very dysfunctional and abusive therapist and was extremely anxious, depressed, and lost due to huge boundaries violations. At the very first session I felt a real connection with her. She was so genuine and I felt that she really cared about me. She did not judge the mess my life was in, but rather gave wonderful perspective to me about the choices I was making. Aileen, thank you for being such an important part of my life. Thank you for developing a therapeutically healthy and ethical relationship with me. You are truly healing one soul at a time! Love, S.

My review is long overdue:…read more I was attending a DV program in LA County for several months, then started a new job In Ventura County which conflicted with my weekly class schedule. I searched and found Westlake Village Family Services. I explained to Dr Kaufman that I completed a certain amount of classes and didn't want to lose the credit. From the get go he was extremely helpful, explained the classes are in the evenings and conducted by his wife Rhonda, forwarded me all the paperwork so I can continue my DV classes that same week. I really looked forward to Rhonda's classes , I appreciated the fact that she took time to ask each of us how our week has been, asked us about any updates with our cases that we wanted to share, and all the ladies in the class were so welcoming. It really felt good to have a safe place to talk about all the unfortunate things that were going on, when I couldn't discuss them with my friends or family. Each class she did exercises with us that helped me gained a lot of insight. I was also court ordered to do individual therapy and asked Dr Kaufman if he had any availability which luckily he did. Dr Kaufman is truly one of a kind because he is invested in his clients success. For almost two years he has helped me tremendously with my DCFS case always listened, guided me, helped me stay positive, and truly wanted me get my son back. Even when my case was getting complicated he reminded how far I came to getting my son back. He is extremely knowledgeable and helps you see things from different perspectives. I can't recommend Dr Kaufman and Rhonda enough to anyone who needs to do DV classes or needs individual therapy. Both of them truly care about each and every persons success.

I started seeing her with my ex-husband and my kids and in therapy. You're supposed to feel safe and secure and I was crying and was telling my daughter how I felt and she immediately snapped at me. Talk to me like I was a child disregarded. My emotions told me that I was Never supposed to show emotion towards my daughter and put that on her which in my opinion and I've always been taught in therapy that being honest and showing emotion is a good thing. She made me cry all the way home and after I got done talking to my therapist and multiple people about what she did, they agreed that there was nothing wrong with me, showing emotion. And the fact that my daughter was not comfortable, she was not her outgoing self. She was quiet and meek that is quite opposite of my daughter's personality. I even reported that one of my daughters had a full-blown eating disorder and she did nothing about it I was reporting abuse going on after their father's house and she did nothing about it. I would be very cautious when seeing this therapist.

I withdrew my child from therapy because there was no support for our family unit, just divisiveness and projection. Just because I put my child in a therapist's care, it doesn't give them the right to assume that what they assume is always right. Kimberly was making assumptions that was wrong.
