I ordered two 9' garland light strings after Chirstmas (on sale) last year. I only inspected the contents and everything looked fine at the time. When I went to put them up this Christmas, I realized one string had been mislabeled- it was actually only 8' long though the package said 9'. I contacted them after this Christmas (almost a year after my purchase) and they said they no longer had these lights but I could pick something else. I didnt really get a chance to even look, this is what I really wanted. But lo and behold, several weeks later they notified me that a package was coming. I just got my replacement 9' garland light set today! I honestly cannot recall the last time I have been so impressed with a company's customer service efforts, this is above and beyond, like they had not forgotten about me. Incredible! We ordered a box of 25 small twinkle lights. When we put them in our decorative lighthouses they did not twinkle. We wrote a disappointing review. We immediately received an e-mail from Julia Teeple in customer service offering us a refund or replace pack. We opted for the replacements and they worked. Our lighthouses are blinking once again and we are so pleased. That was excellent customer satisfaction from Julia and we e-mailed to thank her. There quality of lights is nothing special, the price is high, and their return policy is horrible. They charge a 10% restocking fee and make you pay for the shipping cost. I had unopened lights I tried to return that were a few days past the 30 day return period and they refused my return, not good customer service. First off, I am a repeat customer, so this LACK OF SERVICE is surprising. I paid for USPS PRIORITY shipping and NEVER received my items. This place is a joke! Told us our order would ship the next day. A week went past - only the bulbs showed up, no wire to string them. Upon calling back they said that the wire had been back ordered for well over three weeks - however they CHARGED us for the wire they didn't even have in stock! Order: Pathway lights: The lights are very pretty and bright. I have only one complaint, the stakes that came with the lights are only 4 inches tall. When I push the stake into the garden the bulbs are lying flat on the ground. The stakes need to be at least twice as long. After talking to 3 customer service reps they finally found my return and gave me a credit for $69.99. I called to ask why and they said I had to pay (an exorbitant!) shipping fee to ship them back (they sent me a return label) and a penalty of $10.00 for the return. In a day where exchanging products are the norm, I am trying to process a return as the lights are different than what was displayed in the pictures on their website. Customer service told me that they could generate a return label for $10 (basically covering the return shipment cost)! On top of that there was a 10% restocking fee. The wires going into the LED socket were NOT sealed. I could have purchased a better quality light from Walmart at a cost of $3.42 vs the $8.99 I paid for the LED lights from Christmas Lights etc. They would NOT refund my entire purchase price and could not tell me why I did not get the entire amount refunded. Do Not Buy lights from them. Bought 8 strands of icicle lights for the outside of the house. On their photo it shows whole front of house with said lights. Put them up and 10 minutes later they all went out. Wth! Went to their site and in fine print said only plug 3 strands together. Whose house is only 3 strands going to cover. Looked to return but so many rules makes it that you can't. $100 down the drain. Target icicle lights you can connect several strands and they don't go out. Not these so beware. Did not include my unit number on fedex shipment, so fedex returned my item to sender. They didn't refund anything to me until I reached out on their website's chat (no response to email). They only refunded partial amount, keeping the shipping cost despite it being theirs and fedex's mistake. I have my paypal receipt which includes my apartment number, so I am guessing it's an honest mistake where the data from paypal (which has unit number on an extra line, after the street address) did not get ingested into their system properly. I can tell they used my paypal info because the name on the data which the customer service rep showed me was my maiden name, not my current name (which has an added -second name after), and paypal is the only system in which that data exists in that way. I wouldn't have manually entered my maiden name on a form on their website. However, they were quite rude about it being my "fault," and refused to return that amount. I won't be using this website again. And I guess I'll be changing my paypal account to ensure the unit number's on the same line as the street address, in case any other websites have this bug. read more

I ordered some lights and everything went well. A couple of days later, the site dropped their pricing. After speaking with them they refused to refund the difference because "that's their policy" and "they do not know sales before they come out." I ordered 5 LED trees. A 7ft, 5ft, and two 3ft gold LED fairy light tress (warm light), and a 6ft brown LED tree with multi colored bulbs. The total to my order was $340.21. The order was placed on Nov. 24. I received the order on November 26...I was super surprised that I received the order so fast. So needless to say, shipping was superb! On November 27 I unpacked and put trees up. My 7ft LED fairy light tree didn't light up to the top after connecting the top and bottom. I phoned into customer service and spoke to Linda. Linda said I needed to send a picture...she sent an email and I was to reply to the email and attach the picture. I immediately went to my computer, saw the email, replied with 3 photos. Days went by, I heard nothing. On December 1, I resent email and asked for an update...nothing all day. On the evening of December 1 I decided to phone in. I spoke to Marie...She said there was no email and Marie sent an email that I was to attach a photo to. While Marie was on the phone with me I sent the email with 3 photos...Marie didn't receive it. I then preceded to send photos from all 3 of my email addresses...still nothing. I then sent emails from all accounts without photos to see if they would get those...nothing. I then sent photos from my iphone...nothing. I sent email with photos from my iphone...nothing. I then asked if customer service was receiving emails from any customer...Marie replied yes. I asked what am I supposed to do...Marie said they needed photo...which I totally respect and understand, but I was trying to figure out a way for them to see the 3 photos of my tree that is not working. I mean I am certainly not a computer GURU, but I know how to send emails, everyone else is getting my emails, google will certainly get this review....with the photos of the tree that I will upload. I am just stumped. The trees are beautiful, but it would be nice if ALL the trees I ordered worked. They might be in the Christmas business, but their customer service folks are scrooge. I discover that ALL 14 stings of our 4-yr-old lights were dead. (They came from CLE, too). They worked when they were carefully put away. I fixed them over 2 days but then, the next day, most were dead again. I replaced an average of 20% of the bulbs. Anyway, I needed some lights quick as I had kids coming in from out of town to use them. They don't sell the color we like at the stores, so I placed an order. Now right up front, CLE's prices are double those in the stores, but I was ok with that in order to get the color I wanted. I placed the order because their website says "Same Day Shipping". I live close so I should have received them in 1 to 2 days.... should being the word here. After 3 days, they still had not shipped so I tried to call. They told me that Next Day Shipping is only for Air shipments.. (It plainly says SAME DAY SHIPPING on their site. Besides, they don't know how UPS will get them there. The shipments are the same. Then the man could not give me assurance when they would ship, even though a UPS label had already been created. The man was rude, to be sure, and then he just cancelled my order. I ended up going to Lowes and using plain clear bulbs, but the good news is they were much cheaper for GE-branded lights, which I expect will last much longer than CLE's cheap chinese junk anyway. Needless to say, I'll never do business with them again and I strongly suggest that you don't either. If you want specialty lights or colors they don't have in stores, try 1000bulbs.com. I run a small business making marquee signs and order lights regularly to light up my signs. My regular distributor had the lights I normally order on backorder. I was relieved to find that Christmas lights etc carried the same ones. I ordered the same day and paid extra for overnight shipping. My box never arrived. When I called to ask about getting a replacement box I asked how long it would take to get shipped. They said they don't shop replacements until UPS finishes their investigation into the missing box, in about 9 days. I asked if I could at least get the overnight shipping I paid refunded, Gasmine, their customer service rep, told me she would check with the hire ups and call me back. Two days passed and I didn't hear anything, I emailed them and just asked for a refund on my whole order, they said yes. Two weeks later I realize I never got a refund, so I emailed Gasmine again asking about it, and she just said "we refunded it it should take a day or two." And THEN I get an automated email saying a refund has been issued. Tiny box was lost. They drug their feet. And then forgot about me. We'll see if the shipping charges are refunded in full, after this I doubt it. I came to this company because of the reputation I saw "as seen on Oprah and Ellen" and blah blah blah. Seems to me like they don't treat the little guys as well. I'm so disappointed. WARNING, Be very careful in dealing with this Internet Store. I made the mistake of deciding to purchase higher end Christmas decorations from them and am very sorry. Thier site is tricky and does NOT detail what you need to purchase to actually have your lights work in some cases. Post Sale it gets even worse. Rude Customer Reps who do NOT care and do NOT follow-up. Tricky language read from a script that is misleading. I am still working with them on my returns and, wile can talk to Customer Service, I can only talk to someone that can respond to a script. Order a seasonal product (Christmas light stakes) to use for outside decorating at home. For the first use, the product worked fine. Noticeably cheap and a couple of them broke but nothing too bad. I stored them away at the end of the holiday and when I pulled them out for the second year...every single stake just crumbled when I touched them. I contacted the company who denied my request for the product to be replaced because it was outside of it's "3 month" warranty. So basically, they make them to work for one season, then by the time you get them back out for a second use, they are broken and outside of their warranty. The customer service that I received was as bad as the products that they sell. I'll never purchase another thing from them and I would recommend the same for anyone who reads this. read more

Very disappointed in the customer service at Christmas Lights, Etc. We bought a 10' tree from them 4 years ago, mainly because of the 10 year warranty stated on their website. Several weeks after we put it up this year most of the lights went out. There was an electrical overload somewhere in the tree that fried the main plug and could have started a fire. We called customer service and was told the lights only have a 1 year warranty, so we're out of luck and the were willing to provide zero assistance. Good luck finding the warranty exception on the website or paperwork. Not a good company to deal with. Now we can't light the tree and have to throw away a significant purchase. We will never deal with them again. Before this happened, we bought a 12' tree this year and now know what kind of support we can expect on this purchase as well.
