I happened upon this Christmas market on my way to the Pink Christmas Market in nearby Stephansplatz. I passed it up initially but when I discovered how crowded the Pink Christmas Market was (and as cool as drag queens selling glühwein certainly is, the novelty wears off quickly when you realise you're never getting to the front of the line to buy any) I headed straight back to Sendlinger Tor.
The scale of this market is totally manageable: several stands selling wurst, glühwein, pommes and the other sorts of foods you'd expect. Whilst I didn't, you might happen upon a small gift for a loved one as there are plenty of stalls selling jewellery, clothes, candles and trinkets, most of which look handcrafted.
No, this Christmas market won't blow you away in size or offerings, but if you're looking for a fun way to pass an evening with friends catching up and sipping on a hot beverage or eating handheld meat products, it's a pretty solid bet. read more
