This Christmas Market was at the top of our list to check out while visiting Munich in late November. We're always looking for opportunities that are LGBTQIA+ friendly and this sounded like so much fun.
We ended up visiting twice, once on our first night and on our final night. DJ James Munich was playing music both nights. The holiday music was great and there were plenty of songs that got the crowd singing and dancing along to them. We really enjoyed "Pink Christmas" which is a song from DJ James Munich and found ourselves singing it throughout the rest of the trip.
This market can get very crowded and was mostly people grouped together enjoying delicious mulled wine and other drinks. They did have a couple food options as well as some shops but the crowd was mostly enjoying the music and each others' company.
The market itself is lit in pink with Santas hanging from the lights and you can see it from the street as you walk up.
The mulled wine is served in .2 liter rainbow glasses that have a 5 Euro deposit. I'm pretty sure they expect people to take them home, because they're so cute and the pfand should cover all the glasses that "go missing". The line here for drinks can also get crazy long, so jumping back in to get your pfand back may not be worth dealing with the crowd. We decided to keep ours as keepsakes and we love them. read more
