The screenshots below show my correspondence with their office this morning, and the tone was dismissive, cold, and unnecessarily rude. As a long-time patient, I expected at least a basic level of professionalism and courtesy. Instead, I was made to feel like simply asking for clarification of out of pocket cost for replacement retainers was somehow an inconvenience to them. If this is how they treat families who have been with them for years, I would strongly caution anyone considering becoming a new patient. Customer service and communication matter just as much as the dental care itself, and unfortunately this interaction led to them never getting another penny out of me. I usually go to Dr. Trung; I randomly had been assigned him during my first check up, and just continued to see him thereafter. He is very communicative and thorough when working on my teeth. I do feel that he truly cares for his patients, and is really thoughtful in the way that he says things; he's never made me feel ashamed for not brushing a certain area enough or flossing my teeth enough, just feels like gentle reminders when he speaks to me. Dr. Tran stated I did not need to get a crown and she wanted to preserve my tooth as much as we can. She is not a money hungry dentist! Her and her staff are the sweetest people in the ENTIRE world. They address you by your name and make it a point to remember it. I recently got a filling today (6/19/26) at 10AM and Dr. Tran calls me at 9PM on a FRIDAY NIGHT to ask how I'm doing after my filling and how my bite is. However, the receptionist and Dr. Pham were callous, cruel, and insensitive. Medi-cal paid for my visit, no idea why I was treated so poorly. While in the exam room my wallet fell out of my pocket and they held it hostage, despite being in the office doing paperwork. I called the receptionist multiple times and was given the run around. She lied and said no one was in the office, answered the office phone. She refused to open the door. On the phone I mentioned I felt rushed, the receptionist yelled at me saying "We have it all on camera! You were not rushed!" I drove to their second location and spoke with Dr. Pham and asked her to please let me have my wallet. I told her I am homeless and I needed my EBT card to purchase food. There is something deeply disturbing about these two women. I was told I had to wait 3 days because of the holiday weekend, despite there being an employee currently working inside both locations. They didn't care, Dr. Pham said verbatim, "not my problem, not my responsibility." How cold and unprofessional can you be? So much for the Hippocratic oath. After an 8hr day of begging for my wallet, I finally received a phone call from Dr. Pham. She said I had 10 minutes to retrieve my wallet. Thankful I got my wallet, but I suffered undeserved drama from their horrific treatment. Their unprofessional behavior was appalling, classless, uncouth and distasteful. It was a simple request that literally took 2 seconds. All she had to do was open the door. Instead, I spent 8 hours begging for common courtesy and human decency. Kindness is free.

The hygienist (Juliet) insisted on optional procedures (laser, irrigation, and Arestin) for my wife before providing evidence-based SRP (Deep Cleaning), even though my wife's dental chart clearly showed 5 mm pockets and radiographic bone loss - early stage Periodontitis. When I requested to bypass these adjunct procedures and proceed straight to deep cleaning, they refused treatment for my wife, accused me of wanting them to commit insurance fraud as they wanted her to complete the optional procedures first. According to ADA/AAP guidelines, these adjuncts are not required as first-line treatment. Deep cleaning is the first-line, gold standard for any confirmed or suspected early-stage periodontitis. Most, if not all other offices would've scheduled SRP immediately based on her charts/x-rays. When I confronted them with this fact, Juliet said we were "not a good fit moving forward." and that I was "telling them how to do their jobs," even though I was simply citing standard treatment guidelines that they are not following. I have requested my records and will be going to a non‑shady family practice. I recommend everyone seek a second opinion before agreeing to elective adjunct procedures that this office frames as clinically necessary. Also be aware that many of their Google/Yelp reviews appear to come from profiles with low numbers of reviews, so I recommend taking them with caution. Additionally, double-check quoted prices for each procedure. On multiple occasions, this office overquoted me, and when I asked them to verify with my insurance, the price was drastically reduced.
