Worst bedside manner of any doctor I've seen. Walked into the room saying "sorry for the wait, everyone is having small complex problems, do you have a small complex problem?" Was extremely dismissive, rushed, and condescending when I asked questions. Didn't give me any information or thoughts on diagnosis unless I asked and when I did it was passive aggressive as if I should have known the answer. Completely rushed, genuinely makes you think you're dumb for even being there. Had to see her because my primary Dr. Flagg wasn't available. Will wait to see Flagg next time instead, a complete waste of time and money. The board needs to review her license. read more

I have always been impressed with Dr. Chang's knowledge, but today I was impressed by her shear care and compassion. I see a lot of reviews for her saying she has no bedside manner. And while she can be matter of fact, the truth is she is one of the most caring doctors around. She personally coordinated for my mom to see a specialist and followed up with me to make sure my mom was ok after my mom presented with a difficult infection that two prior doctors(urgent care/ER) got wrong. My daughter went to Dr Chang years ago. My daughter had a severe anxiety attack so Dr. Chang gave her some samples of Paxil. Within a week I had noticed my daughters eyes dilating unevenly so I called to ask Dr Chang if it could be a side effect from Paxil sense it started shortly thereafter. She said no and told me she needed to see her. Dr Chang noticed her strange dilation and referred her to an ophthalmologist in Danville and increased her Paxil dosage. Long story short my daughters visual field started to deteriorate in her left eye, none of the doctors looked of the side effects of Paxil so I finally contacted the FDA and learned it was a rare side effect from Paxil. We found all new doctors, weaned her off the Paxil, the deterioration stopped but it never improved. She lost some site in her left eye. It would have taken Dr Chang a few minutes to look up the side effects. Lesson Learned: never trust a doctor to know all the side effects from medications, never assume they will take the time to look it up. If something in your body changes shortly after starting a medication, it is probably due to the medication. Look up side effects yourselves read more

Christine Chang is the WORST DR EVER!!!!!!!!! She does not care about her patient. She does not explain anything. You will not know what is wrong with you after seeing her. She makes you feel awful and extremely uncomfortable. She has absolutely no sympathy for her patients. I waited for an hour and she saw me for 5 mins. I left her office in tears. She is horrible. Dr. Chang has been my primary care doctor for several years but I never thought of providing a Yelp review until now. She and her staff are wonderful caring professionals who consistently provide the highest possible level of care. She is easy to talk to and takes the time needed to make sure her diagnosis and care instructions are clearly understood. Her physician's assistant Nori is also terrific. I find her to be very knowledgeable about all aspects of medical care. There are many doctors available in my health plan but I can't imagine a better primary care physician. read more

My primary care doctor who I had seen for 18 years left the practice so I wanted to be seen by one of the other doctors but they were closed to "new" patients. The office was funneling everyone to the new doctor in the practice. I insisted on seeing Dr. Chang since my husband was able to transfer his care to her. Right from the start of my appointment she seemed very irritated with me and mentioned that my next appointment will be with the new doctor. She was rushed, rude and overall did not want to be bothered with me. She didn't even bat an eye that I had lost 16 pounds since my last visit and I did not have any weight to lose. Worst doctor ever! I had an argument about prescribing my usual medicine and she would not give it to me. I just wanted my antibiotics and she keeps on saying it does not work. I was a patient of Dr. Chang for the past year. I recently had a horrible experience with a pain management doctor she sent me to. It was a terrible experience with the pain management doctor. I was so upset by the way I was treating by the pain management clinic staff I went to Dr. Chang for help. Instead she totally put the problem on me and did not defend me. I feel your primary doctor should have your back in situations like this. She didn't even want to hear my side of the story, she just put it all on me. I was treated so badly by this clinic and their staff and Dr. Chang really didn't care. Unfortunately that is the way medicine is going. It's a business and it's all about the money. This person made me feel so worthless with the remark he made to me it's unbelievable how someone like him would work in the medical industry. Dr. Chang has been my primary care physician for 8 years. Several years ago when I was looking for a physician, a coworker recommended her own physician, Dr. Chang. I have been a patient of Dr. Chang's for so many years because I am confident that I am receiving the best medical care. She can be quick, but I've always felt that she is friendly and she has made time for everything that I want to discuss, and I felt my health concerns have been heard by her. I believe her to be very intelligent and when I've asked questions about the diagnosis and treatment she provides, her reasoning is always logical and based on her medical knowledge and experience. I sort of hate that it always turns out that she is right, damn overachievers. I appreciate that she skillfully manages her time because I have never waited in her waiting room for more than fifteen minutes. I usually get in after about five minutes and on some occasions they took me in immediately after I arrived and checked in. I have waited for as long as two hours with sick coughing patients in OTHER doctor's offices, so I appreciate that she cares enough to make sure all aspects of her practice are running well. Dr. Chang is a highly competent and compassionate doctor and I completely trust her medical advice and care. read more

Dr Chang has been our primary physician for several years, and she is excellent! She is patient, intuitive, and takes time to really delve into her patient's needs and descriptions of their health. She personally follows up. Both my husband & I go to her and it's true for both of us! Recently when I described not feeling my usual active self with some light-headedness and fatigue from a recent move, she ordered not only blood tests but a chest X-ray. Thank goodness for the X-ray which revealed a diaphragm distention, namely a paraespohageal hiatal hernia which means most of my stomach has displaced itself into my chest cavity between my heart and lungs. A condition which is most often asymptomatic, not even identifiable by the normal endoscopies done by a gastroentronologist. That initial chest X-ray flagged something totally out-of-the-ordinary. She called that same night and recommended I see a specialist, which I did. The thoracic surgeon, after seeing 3D CT chest scans identified a large paraespohageal hernia. I am so thankful to have a primary physician who can guide a patient into proper treatment when vitally needed. I am eternally grateful! read more

This doctor is the on call doctor for our doctor. She refused to take my call and instructed her answering service to not take calls.

Dr. Chang has been my physician for over the past 10 years but no longer. In those 10 years she has been barely adequate but rarely thorough. She is arrogant, argumentative, condescending and often forgets information from previous visits. She is also judgmental about physical looks and attire. She made serious errors in diagnosis and refused to order tests. In a recent change over of computer systems, none of my health records were tranferred to the new system. We spent unnecessary time trying to recall medications and medical treatment. Then in a second change over of computer systems due to being bought by John Muir Medical, all of my heath history again was missing from my file. Additionally, Dr. Chang made claims about my test results from 2008 without looking at any data and stated that my condition had improved. There was absolutely no way she could claim that witthout having test results. Dr. Chang's claim and refusal to order the necessary tests that I requested caused me to have three strokes and permanent loss of vision. Dr. Chang specifically dismissed my symptoms when I discussed them with her. My symptoms were classic warning signs of cardiac distress and it had already been established that I had a blockage. She dismissed my symptoms and told me very strongly that I didn't have a stroke. read more

I find Dr. Chang to be incompetent and unprofessional. Every time I leave her office I feel unheard and angry as she is very condescending and is not a good listener at all. She often doesn't have many answers and as a result she generally just continually gives me useless suggestions and things to do that are of no help. This last issue has been going on for months and she hasn't been able to help me so after numerous visits of arguing with her she started blaming my medical issues on anxiety and depression. It was really embarrassing and frustrating and she seems relieved when I ask for simple things such as a medication refills but when it comes to talking about the real issues that are making me unhealthy she has no reasonable answers. I had to argue to have her write an order for an ultrasound and when I got the results I was in fact having some legitimate issues. She also left the results for me on my voicemail on a Friday so I sat with the unsettling news all weekend without having access to follow up with her until the following week. She also told me that I didn't have Mononucleosis when in fact I did. It took a Dermatologist of all people to give me the proper diagnosis. The diagnosis was eventually corroborated by an infections specialist that gave me the proper diagnosis. Dr. Chang also wanted me to see a Gastroeneterologist to deal with my liver issues that happens to be her husband. She again was condescending and said that she was only sending me to see him so I would stop imagining my symptoms. I had to try and explain the nuances of the Body Mass Index to my own Doctor and I only have a Bachelor of Science but she was not even open to talking about that. She also tried to tell me that the reason why I put on 20lbs in 4 weeks and all in my abdominal area where my pain and swelling was coming from that it was from not eating enough and having my metabolism lower when I run, wrestle or intensely lift weights every day. It turned out to be a swollen liver. Just really uninformed and I feel bad for the patients who aren't as vocal as me. read more
