Short drive from the Graz airport, this restaurant serves traditional Graz food. This area is known for pumpkin seed oil and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I started my lunch with pumpkin seed oil soup. It has that distinct roasted pumpkin seed smell and flavor to it, I really enjoyed my soup.
Garden salad is also served pumpkin seed oil dressing. I recommend sharing with others as the portion size is huge! I was only able to finish 1/3 of it. After the soup, perhaps too much oil? I still liked it just got too much. Wish I had check in luggage then I could have brought some home.
For my main meal, I ordered today's special. I still don't know what it is called but it was beef with gravy, dried opinion on top, served with potato. Again portion size was very big. I told myself I needed extra gym hours next day. If I can find what is is called, I will update my review but whatever I had was good.
No English menu, no English speaking staff... Used my translation app to read some words and with the help of my local business contact, i was able to enjoy my lunch.
Like many other places in Austria, if you order coffee or wine, it is served with a glass of tap water. It is such a great idea to help stay hydrated.
When I visited, it was shortly before the Easter and the restaurant was decorated with Easter theme. Lovely decor throughout.
If you want to take your leftover home, they will provide you with tin foil. I saw a table next to us did that and I had to ask if it was common and and the answer was yes.
