The kind of place you have to try if upscale refined fusion, in this case Austrian and Caribbean , appeals to you. Service was spotless . Atmosphere was relaxed and didn't give away the gastronomic heights this place is able to reach . It is also the kind of place you'd expect to find in a large metropolitan city rather than Graz-they must have gone out of their way to find a pair of chefs this creative and skilled (Simone Maringer and Peter Wölfer who apparently trained in the Caymen Islands). Unsurprisingly, the menu sounds highly exotic, tempting and adventurous . The place is perfect for meat lovers: I recommend the bison tartar and pork belly appetizers , and the beef rib main course. Wasn't too crazy about my dinner companions ceviche (might have been the fault of the sweet curry sauce) . The lamb leg we ordered was less impressive than the beef ribs, I expected the sauce to be more flavorful.Bread basket was one of the best I've had in Graz, their mini wholewheat rolls are worth a mention. They have a main course fish selection as well but we didn't try any of it. Their Riesling was just the right level of dry, smooth and pleasant. Place is perfect for an impressive date night or anniversary dinner since you're almost guaranteed to have an unforgettable experience due to the refined cooking techniques and unusual flavor combinations. Cocktails were good, not great but a nice start to the meal.
On the flip side,my dinner companion thought the menu promised more than he food could keep (referring to the tempting descriptions) but I do not share this opinion, however I do agree that your experience might be a little hit or miss depending on your choices. However, if you want to impress someone or enjoy a top quality, tasty creative dining experience , go with confidence ! read more
