Christina, Mr. Collins and her team are hands down the best ! My youngest son at the beginning of last year ( in 1st grade ) was having a very hard time with reading , to the point his teacher questioned that he might have a learning disability . I had put him in Kumon and tried other tutors but he was still having a very hard time .Long story short , I found Christina through her excellent reviews on yelp , I figured I would give her a try .It was like an Angel was sent from up above , he was going 2x a week for almost a year just this year due to our busy schedule I changed him to once a week . I just had his parent -teacher conference was very nervous what his 2nd grade teacher would tell me about his reading . I have seen a huge improvement but was still not sure were his reading level was at. His new teacher had no idea that just a year ago he could not read at all. I was referred to Christina by my sons teacher Ms Korsten at Almond Grove in Oakley. My son is in 2nd grade and was having a difficult time with math. We spoke and got to know a little about each other over the phone, both asking questions and giving answers. The cost is extremely reasonable compared to others and the location is extremely convenient for us (Starbucks on lone tree near his school). Christina set us up with her tutor Ms Liz, who happens to be sooooooooo sweet, understanding and she's FANTASTIC with my son. He goes twice a week for an hour and by the first week SHE noticed how he struggles but by the second week I noticed improvement. My son who is shy and gets frustrated with his struggles in schoolwork, opened up and feels very comfortable with Ms Liz. He loves tutoring and gets excited about his own growth and improvements with her and also at school (which as a mother, makes me feel so happy and proud). My son has been going to Top Class Tutor for about 5 months. Christina Scofield (owner) is not only professional she is very flexible and does her very best to accommodate your schedule. We have a very tight schedule due to all of my son's sports. She managed to fit us in. My son LOVES Miss Connie. We stopped for a month over the summer to give him a 'break'. I have a daughter that just turned 12 and she's been going to Christina for over a year. When I first brought her for tutoring, my daughter was in 5th grade and struggling with math and her self esteem was at a real low point. I needed somebody who could strengthen her weak areas but also be able to work with her on her current homework. Many places I called have their own curriculum that we would have to follow and wouldn't help with her homework. They also charge exorbitant fees. Christina's rates are very reasonable. She comes prepared with lots of learning materials and is very creative, making learning fun and challenging. She has also helped my daughter with comprehension.
