I was lucky enough to come across Family Foot Center, and they fit me in as soon as I could visit. They did physical therapy and diagnosed me in the same visit! It was very affordable too. I spent less than half of what I spent on that original Urgent Care visit! Even better, the family culture they foster there. They don't have state of the art facilities or an X-Ray machine, but I felt comfortable and relieved when leaving their Bloomfield location after my first visit.

Before the procedure they took Xrays and scheduled the appointment to have it done. The day of surgery, I did not feel NO PAIN when the doctor used a needle to numb the area being worked on. There was no pain at all during the procedure. I even watched the procedure being done. It only took about a half hour to do the procedure. The doctor put dressing on the area and I had to wear a shoe boot. They gave me instructions I needed to follow while recovering. I recommend and am so glad I made the decision to have this procedure done in the doctors office, rather than in the hospital. If you decide on the hospital you would need to get all kind of tests done before the surgery, it is more involved, and would require 3 to 6 months to recover. Getting it done in the office takes only 2 to 3 weeks to recover. I would highly recommend getting the procedure done in the doctors office. I just had my second appointment a week after my procedure - where the doctor checked my foot, changed the dressing and I have the last appointment in a week - where my stitches will be taken out. Getting it done in the doctors office is the best decision. It is safe, the doctor is very gentle and thorough, and I highly recommend getting it done in the doctors office, rather than the hospital. The Critical Thinking Award goes to the practice manager who offered me the following options when…read moretheir user interface did not allow me to complete a new patient intake form prior to my appointment (even though I am not in fact a new patient): (1) spend over an hour driving to and from their office to physically pick up the form or (2) cancel my appointment, wait for them to mail me the form, and then rebook the appointment, in either case so that I could complete the form and BRING IT WITH ME TO MY APPOINTMENT. When I asked why I couldn't just arrive sufficiently early to complete it there (pointing out that neither of the above scenarios would result in the office receiving the form or any information on it until my appointment), they actually said, and I kid you not, "This is our policy - we cannot allow patients to complete the form in the waiting room." I mean, God forbid. So naturally I offered to arrive sufficiently early and complete the form in my car. Problem solved, right? Still a hard no. I am not one to complain but at this point I lost my patience. And they lost theirs.
