I'm a local since 1982. I used to do RC boats (sailboats, speedboats, subs, tugboats, fireboat, fishing trawler, Arleigh Burke Naval Destroyer, a 48" replica of JFK's PT boat) in the reflecting pool. This has been in theovely spot to relax by water, never found it to be too crowded with tourists (for too long). It is a bus tour stop in the summer but still you can find your own space.

I used to spend my time here, a lot of time here, since my apartment and college was a few blocks over. I've laughed here, I've cried here, I've had special moments and breakups here. I've even spent time here just to sit quietly. It was a route I took to go to the Prudential Center. There is a massive reflecting pool and in the summer time, you'll see kids and their parents with boats. You can't go in the reflecting pool, because we tried to once and someone, out of nowhere, yelled at us to get out. The splash pad/fountain that comes out of the ground in the summer time is also fun to run through and stay cool. The buildings and architecture of it is pretty nice and I'm rather proud to see this in Boston. It's still one of my favorite places in Boston to date.

I've toured the Mother Church of the First Church of Christ, Scientist half a dozen times, and love introducing family and friends visiting Boston to this beautiful site. I've long been interested in the history of new American religious movements, so how cool is it to be able to visit the mother church of a worldwide religion founded here in Massachusetts? The free 20-minute tours are offered every half-hour by volunteer guides. While I'm not a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, I've always received a warm welcome. The tour itself consists of visiting the original Romanesque style church and the Byzantine-Renaissance style extension, which features an organ with over 13,000 pipes. Most visits I've been fortunate enough to be able to hear a demonstration by an organist. Mary Baker Eddy and the Christian Science movement are a unique part of Massachusetts history, so I definitely recommend a stop at the Mother Church. While here, be sure to also check out the amazing Mapparium next door ($6/adult).

Put the kids (of all ages) into the swim suits and head to the water sprinklers! On a hot day in the city there is no better place to cool off and take in the views than at the Christian Science Church. You can relax while gazing at the looking pool while the little ones splash about.

Ever stepped inside of the church building itself? Beautiful, awe inspiring and a nice place for self reflection when there isn't service going on. The reflecting pool is great to relax with lunch on stressful days. Oh yeah, and kids dig it. If you're looking for the Mapparium, it's next door in the Mary Baker Eddy Library.

The church is a beautiful piece of architecture and the viewing pool next to it is a place of utter tranquility. Mind you, my friend was walking on the other side of the viewing pool and showed me his trick of walking on water. It really did look like he was walking on water. Too cool. At the end of the viewing pool is a massive spewing water fountain, fun for kids and adult to play in, when the weather gets muggy.

Reasonable price and ability to pay/reserve ahead of time. Negatives: Confusing entrance/exit and layout of garage, lots of pillars, poor signage about where to find the restaurants, restrooms, exits, etc. Exiting after the game took longer than it should have, due to poor layout, steep slope up from level 1, poor traffic management. Also no signage as you exit onto Park Drive and are faced with three possible directions to go. Like much of Boston, you need to already know how to get around before you get there.

Well guess what, as of this writing it's been cut to FIVE fricking minutes!!! Yep, $5 for less than 10 minutes it took me to park, wait in line at REI, pick up my online order, go back to my car and leave. These people have zero shame. I hope the pandemic economy puts these scumbags out of business ASAP. Next time I come to pick up an order from REI, I will simply park in the "Lyft drop off / pickup" area in front. Will have to dash in and out before these ingrates try to have me towed.

The construction may explain the limited availability, however, meaning that the first time I tried to get a ticket here I couldn't find anything that fit my schedule. The second time, I made a good choice in aligning my schedule to see a barn-burner of a movie that I don't think a single person in the theater got up for, despite an almost three hour run time. The seats in my theater reclined amply, and despite being stuck with a front row seat, there really wasn't a bad seat in the house. I found a couple of spare outlets on the walls and briefly charged my devices, important after a long day as a traveler. Landmark will have movies that other places won't, and one hopes that the industry produces things worth seeing. I did not sample the concessions having found a good option nearby.

I recommend purchasing your tickets directly at the location, as they were cheaper than buying them online or through the Go City app when we visited. The top floor is more geared toward taking pictures and has some really great photo opportunities. The lower floor has more of an outdoor feel, along with a great bar, music, and a fun atmosphere. It honestly felt like a great after work hangout spot for adults. There's also a nice gift shop where you can purchase the photos taken at the beginning of the experience or pick up a souvenir. I would definitely recommend View Boston for all ages. The best part was that everyone in our group enjoyed it from the little ones to the older kids, with ages ranging from 2 to 14. It was a fun experience for the entire family!

That was the whole point of choosing that time! Unfortunately, everyone was asked to leave by 6 PM because the venue was closing for a private event. I never even made it to the bar because it was already closing, and although I managed to step out onto the terrace, I felt rushed the entire time. It was heartbreaking, especially since I had traveled all the way from Miami for this experience. What frustrated me most was that there was no mention of the early closure when I purchased my ticket. Had I known, I would have made a different decision. I would still recommend the venue, as it has a lot of potential, but I sincerely hope they improve their communication with guests. Transparency about private events and early closures would have made a huge difference. I left feeling disappointed and let down.

I *SO* wish I was writing this review under different circumstances. There is now a deep pain…read moreassociated with this building... but this isn't the building's fault - thus no stars deducted. You see, I used to work at one of the companies within. I don't want to name it, so let's say I was somewhere between 50%-75% of the way up. To say it was a dream job is an understatement; I couldn't have dreamt it up if I tried. Well, my employment ended in less than six months. Not 100% my fault, not 100% theirs... even if you were to find the numbers, they probably wouldn't add up to 100 either - sometimes in life there is a sprinkle of rotten luck. I had a lot of pride not only in the company I worked for and in the work I did, but also for where (physically) I worked. Friends and colleagues would often ask me, and I would tell them I work right in the John Hancock Tower. Outwardly, I would [try to] be completely nonchalant about it, but inside I felt just a little hurt when the other person wasn't as wowed as I was walking into work every day. From inside, well, the view is incredible, of course. The one caveat is the nighttime view isn't what you would expect (nor what I accurately conveyed in the photos). I think it is partly due to the blue mirror coating on the glass - it reflects some of the now rather scarce blue light. As an architectural symbol, it is probably as uniquely Boston as Fenway. Something that is immediately recognizable. Yes, there are valid criticisms about its location right next to Trinity Church, and how it fits into the overall landscape. It is said, correctly, that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I for one, despite what anyone else says, think the building is wicked awesome. I also love how one can see it from very far away (I've seen it from Lynn and Weymouth!) There is also some fascinating history surrounding the building, including cases where the glass would fall out, and many windows were replaced with wooden panels. Or, how it was determined that under certain wind conditions, the building could fall - and reinforcements were added to the structure, as well as a stabilizer on one of the top floors. With all this, and especially the privilege of having worked inside it, there is not conceivable way I would award anything less than five stars.

This towering skyscraper stands tall at 790 feet, making it the tallest building in New England. Construction on the John Hancock Tower began in 1968 and was completed in 1976. The tower is made up of reflective glass panels that give it a sleek and modern appearance The John Hancock Tower is located in the heart of Boston's Back Bay neighborhood, at 200 Clarendon Street. If you are lucky to go up to some of the high floors, you could enjoy great views of the city.
