Negative review of Au Coin De la Freme By unhappy customer…read moreI visited Au Coin De la Freme in Paris, France in October 2023 and I had a very bad experience. Here are some of the reasons why I do not recommend this place: * They did not deliver all we ordered. We had to remind the waiter more than once and some of the dishes never arrived. * The food came after more than 45 minutes and it was cold. It seemed like they did not care about the quality or the timing of their service. * The staff was rude and unprofessional. They ignored our complaints and did not apologize or offer any compensation. This restaurant is a waste of money and time. I would not go back there or suggest it to anyone. There are many better options in Paris for a good meal.

I had some friends staying at the Best Western across the street and this brasserie caught the eye as it was truly a hole in the wall next to a market store. LA FERME gave me a true Parisian restaurant feel as the menu was in francais. I went with the Beef Grillades which is the traditional American thinly sliced rib eye charred yet tender with frites and la moutarde. I wish I would have tried more on the menu since it had traditional french cuisine but I was in a hurry to get to my next desitnation but overall the pricing was good as my meal was under 11 Euros. In general the St. Denis area has a lot of authentic Parisian cuisine and bakeries.

The sardines are gorgeous, packed in lovely tins, and they make great gifts! Or pick up some Fleur-de-sel, or have raw oysters right at the tiny table in the middle of the store. Visiting La Petite Chaloupe really added to our Parisian experience. I highly recommend it - even if you don't particularly love sardines!

We had foie gras (their specialty) very delicious, escargot, smoked salmon salad, french onion soup, and plenty of baguette. Helpful servers speak English well, they were quite patient and friendly. All the food we had was eye-opening, in both taste and presentation. We arrived 30 minutes before the kitchen closed, with several groups in front of us, but they kept us apprised of the situation and prepared a place for us outside as soon as it was available. We placed our order and the food arrived quickly; in the meantime several more diners came by and were seated for wine and desserts. It was fun for people-watching at such a late hour as many groups and couples were still out and about. While waiting to be seated, we had a chance to peruse the deli area with many varied terrines and foie gras, pickles, smoked salmon, caviar and wines. I wish I was more knowledgeable about their products, but I was amazed that my French from high school and college (40 years ago!) held up as well as it did!
