A family I'm friends with goes here, and said I should check it out. I grew up going to church, every Sunday and Wednesday, I studied the Bible and thought I would be apart of that church for forever, but was pushed away for a series of reasons. It left me feeling angry with them, angry with God, scared to go back, scared to open myself up to potential judgement and hurt again, even though deep down I was aching for a community. All that to say I basically couldn't help but cry the moment we were welcomed and shown our seats. Everyone was authentic and kind, open and friendly, and the lesson left me feeling educated and inward looking at things God wants me to grow in. I can't put into words how much I missed feeling like I belonged somewhere again, and Christ Church offered that by just being who they are. It wasn't flashy or arrogant, or pretentious. Christ Church Gilbert has, by far, been one of the most impactful places I have ever been. The people are the kindest, most welcoming, Christ-loving people. The preaching is solid, expository, and applicable to daily life. Getting plugged in requires commitment if you want to do it well, but it is easy to do with several great options for studies, groups, and gatherings. This church and Pastoral Staff are great. Adam, as Senior Pastor is right on biblically and exegetically. The people are very friendly. No church is perfect and if you were to find one, it wouldn't be perfect anymore. The worship music is very uplifting. Christ Church is biblically based and gospel centered. I contacted an organization that helped find churches and I explained to them that I couldn't drive due to vision impairment and I wanted to know if someone from the church could possibly pick me up for the first time to re-introduce me to church. The organization contacted this church in return the church contacted me. I eventually was corresponding with a woman through email. I did leave a message for her on the phone, but then she replied through that should've been my first clue that someone was not giving me the respect of a phone call. instead corresponding through email she offered to pick me up and take me through a tour of the church and take me back home. At one point I questioned that maybe I misunderstand her however I'm 100% sure I did not misunderstand she asked for my address There was some scheduling conflict so we rescheduled it for another day. I got an email saying I'll meet you at the church. . I was a little confused, but I asked her if she could give me a ride home. I did find a ride there so I thought. OK I'll meet her there and because of paratransit needing an hour at least before they pick you back up to schedule I couldn't have got a ride home. She sent me some bogus email about no guarantee she could help me. it was bizarre, it was so weird. Then later the church contacted me offering for me to visit and saying I needed to take the first step for people to get to know me. This is sick sick. It's sick behavior for churches to do this and it's sick behavior to do one thing and then for no apparent reason to turn around and do another. I thought churches are supposed to be there to help people through difficult times in their lives. I mean, just say no just say you can't just say we don't offer that here or would love for you to visit however we don't offer that. DONT offer and then take it back and then be ignorant about it . I'm going through a lot. I'm going through a lot, a lot of losses, a lot of grief, and this time of year is tough For me to reach out for help. Takes a lot of courage on my part. tried this church for 3 years. I live in the apartments in the same complex, so I thought it would be a great convenient church for me to try as a newer Christian. One thing that stood out to me was how welcoming everyone is in the beginning, but I will tell you right now I've heard lots of unkind words spoken in the bathroom from people who are serving at church. one lady who I won't say names, was saying very mean things about someone's day! Another thing that stood out to me was how expensive a lot of the clothing and shoes the people on staff have. It was uncomfortable to me to see the designer items even the pastor or band members would be wearing. I work in retail so I recognize 300 pair of sneakers. it seemed they were Almost as it outI thought "no that can't be the reason I don't go to church because of the wealth of the staff". Well, several months ago, there was a big push for everyone in the congregation to pay more tithing to earn money for new buildings that the church was wanting to purchase. I have always been proud to pay my tithing, so I was happy to do this. I did feel uncomfortable when the pastor went on a three month sabbatical shortly after to Italy with his family. Then there is the topic of divorce. I have personally been treated wrongly because I have been divorced. Even had a comment made to me by someone there. I don't have older kids, but my neighbor did say that her daughter felt uncomfortable in the youth ministry because of all the "clicks". I also didn't have a welcoming experience at their small group. I do make the drive to a different church in Scottsdale, and I am very happy and feel that I am growing in my walk. This church may be good for some people, but I did not want to go here any longer. read more

God is working at this church. The true Gospel is shared, His people abide in Him and they love anyone who walks through the door. We've been blessed with Bible based teaching, getting connected with a small group, amazing childcare and now we volunteer there! Praise God for Christ Church!! read more

Our family was looking for a church in the East Valley and had been to multiple churches we liked. However, when we visited Christ Church (then Harvest) we knew very quickly that this would be our church home. Why? Everybody is welcoming. The Word of God is preached unapologetically. And although the worship music is amazing and spirit filled, I love that this church considers every part of the service, and ultimately how we live our lives, to be worship. An amazing experience visiting this church!!! I have been to many churches in my lifetime and was most impressed by Christ Church, formerly Harvest East Valley in the Gilbert Town Square, about two blocks west of the big fountain. Friendly friendly people who remember your name and are all smiles and will seek you out the next time you come. "Family" is the word that comes to mind. The facility is new and spacious and the preaching is dynamic and expository. Modern music and a great cross section of worshipers are truly excited to praise God and to understand His message. There are two services, 8:45AM and 10:30AM. You need to try it out. You will be happy you did! read more
