Chris was on time, super efficient and cost effective. We are going to hold on to his contact information!

Totally recommend this guy. He's fast and efficient. He removed a load of assorted junk and yard waste, some of it pretty heavy. Very reasonable price. I would absolutely call on him again. read more

Great service, easy to work with. I took photos of what needed to be hauled, sent them to Chris, and he gave me a quote. He arrived on time and worked efficiently. On top of all that, he's a really nice guy! read more

Amazing! Chris responds and replies back with a quote super fast. He hauled a bunch of old furniture I didn't need anymore. He's prompt and very friendly. He services most of the East bay, so if you got some junk you need removing, Chris is THE DUDE for the job! Thanks again Chris! read more

Another great experience using Chris the Dude ! He helped me in the past and today he helped me move a piano !! He had a dolly and ramp to make is easier ! We will use Chris again in the future for any hauling or moving needs. Thanks again Chris! read more

Chris, The Dude - Chris the Dude and us! - Junk Removal & Hauling Near Me

We found Chris by a referral from a friend back in late August. He did a huge back yard junk removal and did an excellent job. The job wasn't finished and so we were going to plan another day to take care of that, and he never contacted us back after several attempts to reach him, we finally exhausted our efforts. Which is why I'm not giving 5 stars. The only thing we could think of was that perhaps our initial hauling job caused him to not want to return (shrugs), even though we would have gladly paid extra because we were so pleased with everything the first go round. What a bummer. Outside of the unprofessional way of not getting back to us and ignoring us, if he get's back to you, then I have no doubt in my mind he will be awesome for the job! read more

Had to call Chris to clear a bunch junk out of my rental before moving out. I had a pretty short time line and he was super responsive and quick to come out. Chris was early, friendly, and beat the price for any other hauler I called. 10/10 thanks for the help! read more

Chris does a great job and at a fair price. I've used him on many occasions & always refer him first when friend, family, and clients ask for a fair hauler. I actually just referred a tenant to him moments ago. Thanks Chris read more

I was doing some minor decluttering and decided to try Yelp's "request a quote" service. Basically you describe what needs to be hauled away, upload pictures if you like, and then select which companies for bidding. Yelp also provides local recommendations. I got back four responses between 5 minutes to a day, and the prices I got ranged from "X" to nearly "2X!" It does pay to shop around. Chris, The Dude came in tied with the lowest bid, so I chose him to take away a old, scratched-up leather loveseat, an old wooden coffee table, and an heavy steel safe. He communicated throughout Yelp Messenger and even showed up way ahead of schedule, which suits me fine. He worked alone and was friendly, efficient, and quick. I have a pretty narrow entry hallway so it took some maneuvering to get that couch out. Definitely recommend the Dude for helping out with junk hauling and decluttering. read more

Removed Content: He needs zero stars, I hired him to take away my den furniture. He never saw what I needed done. He felt he couldn't get his dolly in the elevator, didn't try to come up with a different solution or anything. He just got in his truck and left, no explanation. I would never recommend him to anyone. read more

AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING! We first hired Chris when we had to have a very old and unwanted piano removed from our basement. It was like pulling a camel through the eye of a needle.....seemingly impossible (the piano could not fit through any of our doorways)! A challenge? Yes. An impossibility? We thought so, but NOT for Chris! He did an amazing job dismantling the piano so that it was fully removable. Watching him and his ability were awing! We, again, called on him to haul away large pieces of old furniture including huge dressers, large sofa and other large pieces. He single-handedly removed everything that normally would have required two or three persons! And he did the job with such speed and expertise. His total "hauling" ability, speed, friendliness and reasonable rates make him THE DUDE to call for our hauling needs. We are ready to make another appointment with full confidence that the job will be expertly handled by Chris. No questions that he is The Dude! read more

Chris gave us a reasonable quote and came within 2 hours! Once he got here he actually reduced his quote by $50 once he saw the size of the pile. Chris was SUPER friendly and quick. We'd definitely use his services again! read more

Chris The Dude is one of the hardest workers I know. Extremely professional, punctual and always ready to give you a hand with whatever it is you need moved. This is my second time using his moving company and I honestly was so impressed on how organized and fast he got everything done. The first time I used him was for my storage unit which was packed to the brim. It was in San Jose and I was moving to Oakland. He moved everything into my house exactly where I wanted it. Without a single scratch! The most recent time was today, he moved all of my stuff from my house in Oakland to Alameda. Again, fast and so organized! Thank you, Chris! If you need anything moved he is your DUDE! read more

Chris, The Dude - Chris the DUDE! - Junk Removal & Hauling Near Me

We just moved and had a bunch of junk to get rid of... a stackable washer/dryer, an old fridge, large cardboard boxes and styrofoam from new furniture, as well as some demolition materials like wood, stucco, and such. On a trip to Ace Hardware, we asked if they knew anyone who hauls, but they didn't have any recommendations. When we left, it wasn't even 5 minutes later and we see a "Chris the Dude" hauling truck in front of us! So I snapped a photo so I could remember the information when I got home. This past Monday (it was 4th of July), I emailed him to ask his availability, and within a few hours he emailed me back saying he could do it the next day and asked for photos of what we had. I sent a few pictures over to him, and he gave us a price. He showed up only a little later than expected, but he and his partner got everything packed up and hauled away quick. They even swept up after themselves. Chris the Dude saved us a day of packing everything up and hauling it to the dump ourselves. I'd be happy to use him in the future if we have another load of junk we need to get rid of. read more

Chris is great. So helpful and friendly. I will always use him for decluttering my life

Chris crushed it on all fronts! Super friendly and helpful in discussing and quoting the project. Was ready to go on the date and time scheduled. Had an unexpected trailer flat in the parking lot and quicker than a Formula 1 mechanic, he swapped that tire out and was immediately back to work. Loaded up the trailer with ease and the project was done before I could have hoped for and before I knew it, he was off and I was on to continuing with my day. 5 Stars for Chris who gets the job professionally done! read more

We used Chris The Dude Hauling to help my mom get rid of a ton of things she had accumulated over the years in one bedroom and he was very easy to book with, charged a hell of an awesome deal - better than any other hauling service pricing I was quoted. I would definitely use him again! Thanks again Chris!!! read more

My husband called Chris today afternoon around 4pm to get a quote and Chris magically showed up at our door by 8:30pm same day to take our old couch and huge desk away. On top of it, his price was very affordable $175. And for the cherry on top, he had such a great personality. Great to do business with! It feels really nice to feel like we know a guy to call for junk! read more

Chris, The Dude helped me take care of a problem last weekend. He was flexible and agreed to come to my house on a Sunday to haul away my broken down hot tub. When I saw his trailer, I thought it was too small, thinking he was taking everything in one piece. Instead, he took out a Sawz-all, installed a new blade and proceeded to cut the hot tub into pieces. He fit all of the debris into this trailer, cleaned up the work area and hauled it away. He also bid a competitive price for the job. I couldn't be more satisfied. read more

From the first message to Chris loading our junk into his truck was 45 minutes. Price was very reasonable (after receiving several quotes of $350-$400) Chris did the same job (and agreed to take a bathroom vanity and shelf on top of the original quote) for $230! Super professional! Will definitely use Chris again! read more

Chris came by today and now I can see parts of my garage I haven't seen in years. Chris is great, a true professional. We were able to get same day service and he's crazy fast and efficient. We had great communication throughout the day. He's helped us a few times in the past years. He is our first call when we have anything to haul away. I would strongly recommend his service to anyone. Thanks a lot Chris! read more

I believe in being accurate when I rate a company so we consumers have a reliable way of making decisions, and I'm confident this five star rating is well deserved! I'm happy to say that I couldn't have made a better decision about who to hire to remove a huge pile of decking debris from my yard! Chris told me he'd be at my house at 11:00 am, and he arrived exactly on time. The added bonus for me, was that he also texted me when he was leaving his yard to give me a heads up. He and Brendon worked steadily and quietly, and it was heart warming to see them interact. They seemed to enjoy working together which made it a pleasure having them here. They had to make two loads, and left the work area neat and safe between loads and spotless when they were done. There were no hidden costs, and the price was right. Even if he had been the high bid, which he wasn't, Chris the Dude would have been the right choice! I can't say enough about this company! I plan to have them back soon, as my project progresses. read more

Chris was very professional, easy to work with, Chris and his crew are highly recommended. I was in need of a lot of cardboard and trash to be removed out of my facility I had no luck with any kind of Sunday help, I gave it a final chance on yelp, Chris answered very promptly, had a very good attitude, he was able to meet me within an hour and accommodate the trash removal. I got to say anyone with his work ethics is a permanent contact in my list. If anyone is looking to haul trash contact Chris you won't regret it, Chris has a personality that will make you feel like you known him for years. Thanks a lot Chris truly appreciate everything I will definitely use you in the future meaning couple weeks. 10 star rating! read more

Chris is the man. He hooked us up, big time. Quote was less than anyone else, he was accommodating when I needed to change times, and he was fast AF getting everything cleaned out. We filled up his ENTIRE trailer and it was done in under half an hour. Amazing! Awesomely friendly guy with some killer Ray-Bans and much appreciated chill-ness that offset my hysteria about moving. A gazillion stars. read more

We hired Chris to haul away some assorted junk and he was very reasonable on price, friendly, honest, and relatively circumspect about the fact that the hideous, enormous concrete sink we hired him to remove broke his dolly in the process. We'd definitely hire him again, and probably will, if only to make up for breaking his equipment (oops). read more

My parents finally got a new set of couches but we were having the darnedest time trying to find what to do w/ the old ones. The frames were still sturdy but they needed reupholstering....which unfortunately meant ZERO charities had interest .......our only option was the dump After my dad unknowingly made an appt w/ a place that was a complete rip off, I demanded he cancel that appt & took charge of the situation I spent *hours* calling around & getting equally obscene quotes....man is life different in the East Bay. I've never had this issue in SF! Chris was our savior. He literally called within 30 sec of my voicemail & said he could come right away.....we didn't need removal for a few days & he was flexible to wait Chris was the cheapest quote around & he was available when we needed him - came when he said he would come & the removal was nice & quick & hassle free Can't get any better than that! read more

Dudes a schmuck. No call no show on a job we had booked a week in advance. He offered a great quote then never showed up. Chris is THE dude!! Very polite, professional, communicative, very fair pricing, and for someone who deals with junk & chaos he is extremely organized and efficient. We had to clean out the garage/attic of remnants from my in-laws and there was a $#!T ton of stuff. We also live in the middle of nowhere in San Ramon. With that said we didn't know what to expect. We called a couple of people. One guy flaked on us for the estimate, another guy cost way too much, but Chris was reasonable, easy to talk to, and an overall nice Dude ;) We appreciated him calling us to tell us he was running behind because of an earlier job. Our experience has been that any contractor we hire usually just shows up when they do, leaving us waiting or causing us call for an ETA. Not Chris. Very happy and will use him again. read more

AWESOME. Thank you Chris. I called on Monday morning because I needed help picking up a new couch in San Francisco, moving that couch to Oakland, and then getting rid of our old couch. All that same evening. Chris' quote for both services was a lot less than if I'd rented a truck and got junk hauling separately. Chris is very friendly and personable and our new couch arrived without a scratch. The entire time it took from when Chris showed up in the city to getting our old couch out the door was an hour. ONE HOUR. I highly recommend Chris and will gladly call him again for future moves/hauling. Thanks Chris! read more

I've used Chris the dude quite a few times during my move and subsequent remodel of my new place. Be is prompt, courteous and funny. Not only does he do dump runs but he also took a couch of mine to a colleague of mine. I would definitely recommend him for any dump runs, moves, furniture pickups, etc. Although I haven't used him for towing cars - I know that's part of something he can do. His prices are also super fair considering he has to pay for the dump fees which can be pretty hefty. read more

I called Chris after a mover I had scheduled did not show up. I had a deadline and had prepped everything for hours. Chris was at another moving job but promised to help after he had finished. He arrived promptly at the end of the day, 4:30. His price was a fixed bid and reasonable...much more than anyone else I had called! More important he was a wonderful person who I enjoyed working with, very real, a great smile and a hard worker. Chris made everything easy and fun. My job took much longer than I had anticipated and he didn't leave until 9pm. I could tell he was tired but he kept asking if there was anything else I needed him to help me with. Chris was strong, helpful, resourceful, courteous, fun and just a wonderful human being. I'll call him again anytime I need help period! read more
