Jonni is absolutely the best. She was so organized, walked me through every step of the process,…read moreand just went above and beyond to help me purchase a home that is a good fit for me. She took time to explain all documents, timelines, and processes (inspections, county permitting, etc.) thoroughly. I was purchasing a property while living a few hours away, so I was unfamiliar with the area. She made sure that I had all the information that I needed, including reaching out to her contacts locally to do extra research for me. I was purchasing a residential home that is on the historic registry to use commercially. An example of her going above and beyond follows: I had questions about having a property permitted for commercial use, so she texted me the address of the specific county building I needed to go to, with instructions on where to park, the suite number for the department to visit, and some of the terminology I needed to understand. In addition to being very detail oriented and a fast communicator, she was also so friendly and patient through the whole process. I had an infant present the whole time, often had work calls pop up, and wanted a coworker and friend to tour homes with me. She treated all this as if it was just normal work! Spending time with her during the purchase of the home was enjoyable. Buying a home is a huge moment in life, and she made it all the more memorable. That being said, she was very communicate and straight forward about potential challenges in any property that we viewed. I would recommend her to anyone!!

Would never recommend Jim Hafer! I sold my house in Hedgesville, WV in September. I interviewed…read moreseveral agents seeking a professional, one that seemed to be trustworthy, and would work in my best interest. Yet what I discovered is what a person says and promises may not be true. I choose Jim Hafer, Hafer Realty. He promised professional photos, to work in my interest to get the best price, and my impression was a person of integrity. My first indication that this was not true is when he mentioned as the house was being prepared to be marketed that he had a prospective client that "he might show it to." I agreed with the caveat that he inform me if it was to happen and give me feedback afterward. He showed the property and I did not know until a conversation two weeks later that he had done so and the client was not ready to buy. He had a responsibility to let me know when he was coming into my house. On 9/21 the house was listed. There were about 8 showings within 48 hours and he informed that a contract was coming in. The contract was received and was less than the asking price and when I asked about a counter his response "don't, accept it" despite it being $3 less. I did, regrettably. He even wanted to mark the house under contract when a ratified contract was not completed and would have if I had not objected. Closing was to be in 2 weeks and the buyer had multiple home inspections. It was Hafer that mentioned to me that they would have difficulty getting it all done and said he was going to call the buyer's agent and get them to do an extension. He did but - Why? It is their responsibility and when I asked him "what if I don't agree to an extension, they've written the contract that way - he said "they will probably not buy the house." I accepted this advice. The inspection came back with 5 pages of items every thing from them wanting a "hurricane strap" on the garage (who knows what that is - and Jim didn't), improvement that were never part of this near 40 yr old house such as gutters , and despite a house built on a hill - expecting grading. Some were reasonable and minor. During the discussion about counter to the inspection He informed me "listen, I have 2 other contracts to write tonight and I don't have time for this." I suggested to speed the deal forward $1500 credit, Jim suggested $5K and when I said "no" he said "would you go with $3K - and I said "maybe." He said he would call the agent and within 5 minutes he called me back and said "they want $3K". What a surprise! I accepted that - yet lingered this agent is more in pursuit of getting the deal done, his commission and certainly "I don't have time for this" indicated he was not working in my best interest. 4 days before closing we had a discussion and he said "I've not seen the the radon or mold inspection" and I informed him that I had been to the house and had not seen that they had done it. His response - "ill call them and see if they want it done." My response - "no you won't, if they had not done it, it is on them, we are closing." Is he working for me or the buyer?? I've had a handful of closings they are usually a happy time. Jim was outside when I arrived for closing on his cell phone didn't event greet me as I entered the building until in the room. Most agents thank the person for listing with them, even give a bottle of wine or a gift certificate as a thank you. Jim - "thank you for trusting me." I did - and now my perception is I know what you are about - get your commission and make a deal without regards to this seller and I would never trust you gain. There are many choices for realtors today. I wish I had gone with one of the others I interviewed who might have worked in my best interest. I think the house would have sold with knowledge what other houses have sold for since - at a higher price. At least a better agent would have suggested a "counter." Who knows. What I do know that Jim Hafer took pictures with his cell phone here were no professional pictures, never seemed to be working for me. I think I would have at least done better if I had taken pictures with my cell phone and paid a few hundred dollars and had one of the on-line companies to post on the realtor sites. I would have paid less commission and better service doing it myself. Bottom line - I would not recommend Jim Hafer.

My whole home buying process from start to finish was about 2 months. There were a few bumps along…read morethe way, but that was at the fault of the seller's agent and Hafer Real Estate Group was quick to catch their mistakes & make sure they were corrected. Throughout the ups and downs, Jim was always honest with me and did his best to keep me stable. I really appreciated that, as I'm sure I wasn't always easy to deal with! I would highly recommend Jim & his Team to anyone looking to buy or sell their home!
