We found Ivan after searching for the right Ikea cabinet installation company for some time. He was showcased in a custom Ikea cabinet manufacturer page but what set him apart (and ultimately made us choose him vs. others) was the quality and attention to detail that was evident in the pictures from his previous jobs. Our installation consisted of various materials, standard Ikea Sektion boxes, custom acrylic upper doors (push to open), and custom white oak base and tall cabinets. When the job started, Ivan was quick to point out seemingly minor improvements to the original design that made a big difference: we were able to remove/relocate filler pieces that resulted in a cleaner installation. Which brings me to my second point. Whenever there was a decision to be made, however minor, Ivan took the time to stop and consult with us regarding how we wanted to proceed. This is a refreshing take as oftentimes contractors make their own choices without the client's input, resulting in costly changes down the road. Just like the pictures during our installer search, Ivan's work displayed a keen attention to detail. Ivan takes pride on his work and cares about the final product. For instance, after he installed the uppers, we felt that some of the gaps around a corner cabinet section were a bit bigger than the rest. Mind you, this was not a simple door adjustment, but Ivan took the time to remove previously installed side panels to make sure everything lined up precisely. However, the amount of time and effort it took to get it done and get in contact with this guy was ridiculous. Doesn't answer phone, isn't there at the shop when he says he's going to be there and work took an extremely long time with no communication and updates. Since they don't answer the phone or return calls, we tried to head down to the shop and it was closed down. I get that they do a lot of commercial work and large scale projects and aren't able to drop everything for a single kitchen drawer but it was extremely hard to get in contact with this shop. In addition to this, not too friendly. I was finally able to get in contact with someone through yelp and was able to get everything figured out. Great work but pain in the butt getting it done.
