I got fantastic service at West Chester Music Store…read more I brought my Ernie Ball bass in this had an electronic issue. I first took it to Guitar Center where they misdiagnosed the issue as a bad preamp. The guys at West Chester Music correctly diagnosed the issue as a disconnected battery terminal and had it fixed within 24 hours. This was huge as I was on a time crunch getting the bass back The price was fair, the service was done well, and the turnaround time was absolutely amazing. I will be getting any future work done here

I recently moved back to the area and needed a store for supplies and repairs. Took one of my…read morebasses in for evaluation and repair. Got a little delayed because of the snow storm, but they got it done. Didn't test it out at the store because I was short on time, but got home and hooked it up... sounded great. Before picking it up the technician (luthier) gave me a call and explained the issue he found. Was honest - he told me that there was a loose connection on the preamp board which is potted. He said he drilled out the connection but could not re-solder the wire. He said that the bass will need to have the board replaced at some point. Maybe years or maybe weeks.... but it is working. I know that intermittent issues in any electronics are hard to find, especially when potted under epoxy. The store is a little quirky and crowded with product, but they did a great job. Looked around a bit - they have a huge selection of guitar strings, amps and pedals... new and used. Al, I'm guessing, took the time to walk around with me, pointing out product, talking with me about the basses he had, the email group they managed. They gained a customer.

I went to Taylor's Music Store intent on purchasing a vintage Martin D-28. I asked Len…read more(President/Owner) for some help looking the guitar over. I am still a beginner in the guitar game, but I am very particular to the "sound" that a guitar makes. I like the sound of a guitar with rich base tones, which was why I was checking out the Martin. For whatever reason, I just wasn't hearing the sound that I was expecting. Given his experience, Len understood what I was looking for, and showed me a brand-new Yamaha TransAcoustic TA3 Grade all solid wood guitar. Talk about a complete 180 from the vintage Martin, but as soon as Len started playing on the Yamaha, game over, I was sold! The guitar has an internal speaker that sounds amazing and features a built-in loop option. Not only that, but the guitar sounds amazing with the electronics turned off! The new Yamaha was a couple of hundred dollars less than the vintage Martin and came with a lifetime warranty! No brainer! After purchasing my new Yamaha, and per Len's advice, I returned to have the guitar tech at Taylor's adjust the action to better suit me, free of charge! Thank you, Len and your team for an outstanding experience! I would definitely recommend Taylor's Music Store! Regards - Ben Percy

We hired James about four months ago for my ten-year-old daughters piano lessons. Recently my…read moredaughter was very ill and we had to take her to urgent care. She was sick on top of a double ear infection and I told James early that morning that we needed to reschedule. We had only rescheduled ONCE before in all four months also due to illness and not wanting to spread to other kids. I offered to bring him a Dr note and asked for a date to reschedule the lesson. He said to check his studio policy and it would be counted as an "unexcused absence" and next time I'd have to pay for the missed lesson regardless of if she was ill and then pay for the makeup lesson as well if I wanted one. At $65 a lesson, this is a little ridiculous so I asked him if he would have rather me brought her in sick, and that it's unrealistic to expect a kid to only have one sick absence per year and avoid having sick kids in studio. He got angry and went on a text tyrade with me lecturing me on how he needs a consistent income and to make a living. I reminded him that I was not trying to get out of paying for the week, just a date to reschedule, but if this is his policy we planned to finish out the month and the recital my daughter had been practicing for for weeks and then find another teacher. He agreed to reschedule for the coming Friday, in writing. I thanked him and thought that was it until the next day I received an email saying he was canceling my Friday makeup lesson, and all her other lessons that month except the one right before the recital, all of which had already been paid for. I sent him a response literally saying "I am asking you very nicely to honor your word and allow my daughter the Friday makeup lesson you agreed to prior to the recital so she isn't less prepared as a result of our decision to leave your studio." Apparently, this sent him over the deep end and he told me that I forced him to pull my daughter from the recital entirely and there would be no more lessons and that I'm difficult to work with and "I hope you reconsider the level of respect that you give to whoever your next piano teacher will be." I am literally beside myself this horrible man would punish a ten year old and take away something that she has worked and practiced very hard for for several weeks over a simple request to keep a makeup practice. If you do make the horrible mistake of hiring James, I definitely don't recommend giving him any notice when you plan to pull your student because he will be spiteful and take it out on your kid in any way he can. Also, generally speaking he is super inflexible, rude, and has ridiculous $20 late fees for payments whether he invoices you or not. He may be a decent piano teacher, but he's quite frankly a huge diva and a HORRIBLE person.
