I've met so many great people through events and the love of food and activities. I love concert in the park, the State fair, the many great restaurants and shopping and do much more. The most recent event Sacramento had was Diner En Blanc. This was my first time and this is something that goes on in Sac every year for the past 10 yrs. I enjoyed going with friends and got to see what it was all about. Sacramento has the American River bike trail with I love and so many beautiful parks and who doesn't enjoy going to Downtown, Midtown and Old Town? I have no regrets moving to the area. I guess that's why I've been here so long and am proud to call Sacramento my home.

It has affordable housing compared to Los Angeles! If you're into snow and love skiing, it only a couple of hours away to enjoy! If you love the City of San Francisco and its attractions and amenities, that, too, is about a couple of hours away. The same for Napa Valley and the beautiful scenery of grapes and wine tastings. Hiking and camping, too. Let's circle back to Sacramento! We have many choices of eateries! We have mom and pop's, farm to fork, many cuisines to choose from, popular chains types, bar foodies, food trucks, to Michelin-Starred restaurants!! We have many grocery store options at our fingertips. We have hospitals and clinics. We have many churches and schools. We have quite a bit compared to some very small towns. I think we all take the every day amenities for granted. Overall, it's a beautiful city!! It is not perfect. Nowhere is perfect. Like Roseville it is a beautiful and safe community with a small town atmosphere and now that I no longer work in the City of Rocklin I kind of miss it. No, not my former job but the food places I've discovered while working in Rocklin. My exit to work was actually at Rocklin Road [Exit 108] on I-80 E so I'm referring to this side of the city where as soon as I exit and turn left I see Koja Kitchen a little past Granite Dr. Granite Drive actually has a lot of nice restaurants and fast food places to try. Now while I can't guarantee you a good dining experience nor great food these are the places I've tried... there is Adalberto's Mexican Food with a 24-hr drive-thru, Sushi Kakogan (new business!), Jing Jing Chinese Cuisine (not yet--this place has been on my bookmark list for a long time and I have yet to make it here), KoJa Kitchen (yum!) and when you crave fair food for cheaper price, try FancY FunneLCakeS. On Pacific Street (old Rocklin side) I've had lunch at The Mad Teriyaki Grill and I get my donuts at Jasmine's Donuts. There are plenty more places to eat but my review would run too long if I mentioned all of them. I've also found the back way (from Granite Drive) to Studio Movie Grill! Even though I owned a house here for 9 years that was an income property, I never seriously considered to live in it. Thought I'd live in Sonoma until I died. Well, at the behest of my adoptive Roseville family and the urging of my wife I capitulated to move. And after 10 months of being here I'm diggin' it. I actually like Roseville with an 85% approval rating. I like the excellent infrastructure. The roads are mostly in excellent condition. The tap water is drinkable without crinkling my nose. There's tons of retail for anything I could possible need or want. Lots of good mom n' pop reasonably priced restaurants. I have no children, my neighbors who do give the public school system high approval. Only have one major complaint: The driving habits of the local denizens is horrible to the max. Driving the 4 lane wide surface streets often feels like a demolition derby. Too many speeders, too many sudden lane cut-offs that make me jam on the brakes. The massive size pick up driving good ole' boys are the absolute worst. They drive like it's their constitutional right to commit vehicular manslaughter and laugh about it afterwards. My life long Roseville resident 34 year old nephew has been seriously rear ended twice in the past two months by teenagers who were texting while driving. Can't wait until 100% autonomous vehicles become the vehicle norm. Maybe I'll just start walking everywhere but then again I'd fear for my life every time I enter a crosswalk. Love y'a Roseville. SETUP Among the many sections in the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) where I work, there is the Caregiver Background Check Bureau (CBCB). In this section, we manage background check process for licensed caregivers, their employees, specified volunteers and non-client adults residing in a facility. CBCB Functions Individuals who want to work in Community Care Licensed facilities will submit their fingerprints to the California Department of Justice (DOJ) via livescan - a digital hand-scanning process. All licensing categories (Adult Care, Child Care, Elderly, etc.) require a California Criminal History and a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) check. If an individual is associated to any facility serving children then a Child Abuse Central Index (CACI) check is also performed. So bottomline: before individual can obtain a community care license, provide services, work or reside in any of our licensed-facilities, they must receive a criminal record clearance or an exemption from the clearance provisions governed by statutes, regulations and CCLD's own internal policies. TRUSTLINE Trustline is a service the State of California provides to parents and family members who want to know if a potential caregiver for their child or disabled relative has a criminal background. These are situations where they have chosen not to use licensed care but still want their nanny, IHSS provider, etc fingerprinted and cleared through DOJ and CCL. If they are cleared the name is put on a Trustline Registry. So again - as in licensed care - in these exempt-care scenarios, if they have a criminal history such that no clearance is granted then the agencies that maintain a Trustline Registry for child care and/or the local entities that administer employment clearances for IHSS workers are notified. The last incident was a leaky sprinkler head that was spilling water all over the sidewalk. This had been going on for over a month so I decided to write it up on their app. So after I wrote it up I walked later that week and they already started the repair on the broken sprinkler head. It's so amazing that they're so responsive to this app and always work on items that are broken right away. Plus it's so nice to not have to wait when you call on the automated answering system that put you through all these props this is way easier.
