Due to work I've…read morehad to drop off several pre-paid Special Delivery packages at various Post Offices around Bolton and I can honestly say that the staff here are the friendliest and most welcoming of any I've been to. It's also one of the easiest for parking -- if you can't park on the little lay-by by the Post Office itself, turn quick right before the Beehive roundabout and you'll be able to find somewhere that doesn't annoy the neighbours. In short, the owners do a great job here and deserve our support.

I really dont understand why some people choose a job where they deal with the public when they…read moreclearly do not like other human beings, i live locally and over a few years now i have used this post office for various things to be greeted by the same rude, ignorant, misereable woman who makes you feel like your are putting her under great strain to do even the simplest of things. Today i took in 5 parcels, one of which was was a parcelforce 48hr i had prepaid for them all online and i asked her what i needed to do she shrugged and grunted to leave them in the corner, i offered her the paperwork and said i had not done this before, she said she didnt need the paperwork and i left, i have since discovered she should of scanned the barcode and given me a receipt which i need for the insurance, when i now try and track the parcel its no where in the system as she has not done her job properly, and this package was a childs present to be delivered by Thurs which will now not happen all because this lady simply cant be bothered. I shall not be using this post office ever again and i know that a lot of others from the village also feel the same. i feel sorry for her husband who sometimes works there he is a nervous wreck, i wonder why?

As a bonus they also have a counter where you can buy a hot pie/pastie at a reasonable price. If you are fed up with huge queues and an impersonal service at main post offices then give your local PO your support and keep them open.

They still provide a lot of the services which you can get at a larger post office, but without the impersonal service. I draw my Grandmother's pension here after they closed her local one, and she is not able to walk there but always requests one of their pies as a treat.
