This facility does not know how to treat children you keep getting the same runaround from their doctors then after four visits, they tell me they can't see my grandson again, but I should take him to an urgent care. Doctors and nurses are amazing but typical CHOP administration coupled with a lack of customer service and professionalism from new front desk staff. I was laughed at when I questioned that the only option to reschedule was an appointment 6 months later and no waiting list for cancellations. Given the lack of availability of appointments and getting them pushed further and further out we would be skipping an entire year for a well visit so will start looking for a new practice. read more

Having 14years of service experience with this practice the problem is answering the phones in a timely manner and accommodations by the front end of the practice. I having been having this issue with this office for many years, they can't seem to get that addressed. I waited for 30mins for for someone to answer the phone. I just hung up. This is not the first time this has happened to me. It's only because of the doctors I have stayed with them. I am giving them an F for this type of inefficient and unimproved performance. I wish I could give the from end zero stars but Michael at the front desk is most kind, knowledgeable and professional, he is the star. read more

Heads up: this practice just charged us a $50 copay for a "sick visit" when I brought my newborn in for a routine weight check as I was requested to do by docs. I had no concerns about my child, she wasn't sick, and I was given no warning. I questioned this and was told "That's just how it's scheduled." So obviously they have found a way to make extra cash off of unsuspecting new parents. Moral of story; when scheduling any appointment, find out what they plan of scheduling it as because clearly, logic won't apply. read more

From sniffles & scrapes to shots - these pediatricians take care of it all. We've been going here for about 3 years now and I've always been happy with the practice. There are five different doctors on staff (we particularly love Dr. Sharon Corcoran and Dr. Scott Tomaine) so it's pretty easy to get an appointment when you need one, even on Saturdays. Sometimes the wait is a bit lengthy once you're inside the exam room, but we've always been given all the time we need when the doctor does come in. They take insurance and are affiliated with CHOP. One of my favorite features is that they'll fax a prescription to your pharmacy right after your appointment - anyone who's ever had to stand around a pharmacy for 45 minutes with a sick, cranky kid will appreciate that! read more

These are some of the absolute best pediatricians you can imagine. Caring, kind, and courteous. But my god the administration of this place is really bad. It's impossible to get through at times, there's a 2-hour wait for after hours calls, they lost some medical records, etc. And we just called for a yearly checkup and they said they're booked for 3 months and can't even schedule us because their schedule doesn't go out that far. So we're on a waiting list. I mean it's CHOP so I expect the best. They clearly have the best doctors but the rest of it is a mess. read more

I must be sick, because I actually look forward to going in for my daughter's checkups at Kids First in Flourtown. The Doctors are so very nice, and they don't make me feel dumb when I ask a question pertaining to the little bruise like thing on my kids tail bone. Oh, you mean the Mongolian bla bla- exclaims Dr. Sharon with her big smile and her jangly buttons- (like the kind I wore in HIgh School.) I like that both the Doctors and Nurses talk to me like an adult, yet explain things to me that even my baby would understand. Speaking of the Nurses, they are always quick with a call back when you have a concern. If it is a big one, they will try to fit you in right away. This busy practice runs like a well oiled machine. read more

In my opinion, this office is terrible. Waiting time on their phone is sometimes upwards of 1/2 an hour just to speak to someone. Scheduling well appointments is a nightmare. Go elsewhere unless you enjoy wasting countless hours of time. read more

Although this is the only pediatrician I've been to since I was the age to need a pediatrician for myself, I'm impressed and pleased with Kids First Flourtown. The doctors and staff are clearly kid lovers. We've found them all to be patient and accommodating. The cleanliness of their modern office and their professionalism soothes my worries as a jittery new parent. So far we've seen Drs. Tomaine and Belzer, would we'd be happy to continue seeing either. I've asked and apparently they are willing to keep patients up to college age, but realistically this is a place for little kids, probably up to eight or ten years old. They will make appointments up to six months in advance, so you can schedule your 'well visits' at convenient times. Finally, they have separate waiting areas for sick kids and well kids, which hopefully minimizes the chances you will bring a new problem home with you from the doctor's office. read more

Since we had the Budder we've been taking him to Kids First in Flourtown. We were very impressed with the doctors when we first visited and they've done nothing to change our opinions since. My wife, son and I are all starting to lean towards Dr. Tomaine who has been great every time we've been with him. Kids First is also associated with CHOP. It's nice to know that option is there if we need it for some reason. read more

Impossible to get through to talk to a human being. Waited on hold for 45 mins then gave up, tried again a few days later when my child's rash was getting worse. Again 45 mins then was disconnected. Infuriating. It says you can schedule a sick visit on "MyCHOP" but I wasn't able to, only well visits which are too far out when I have a child that needs to be seen. read more

I can't say enough good things about the doctors and NPs here- love them and have been going since my daughter who's 5.5 was a newborn. My other daughter is now almost 2. However the office administration is AWFUL. If you don't call at 0801, you will not get a sick visit for the day. And don't bother trying to make it on MYCHOP because it doesn't work and then you waste time doing that when you should be calling. I was on hold for 45 min today and called at 0805. Another day I called around 9 am and all of the appts for the day were taken. That's just crazy. Then I was referred to the ER or urgent care. My point is that if you actually CAN get an appt here, you will be pleased with the medical staff and want to come back.... but good luck getting another appointment . read more

My son was a patient here since birth but I've recently switched to another location 100% because of the office staff. I would dread calling for an appointment because I always felt I was either inconveniencing them or I would never get a hold of them. If I could do it over, I probably would have chosen another primary care office. read more

The providers here are outstanding and they deserve 5 stars. I have 2 children and both have been patients since birth so we have about a 10 year relationship with this practice. The reason for my 2 star rating is due to over the years the office/front desk staff has consistently been rude and unpleasant. Not very friendly at all. I have continued to come back solely for the care my children have received by the providers. But I do dread every time that I have to call or check in at the office :( read more

While I loved Dr. Sharon, I found it difficult to get an appointment with her and my newborn was shuffled between three doctors within her first four visits (and then we left the practice). The waiting time at each visit was completely unacceptable (30 minutes after they had baby get undressed). The front desk receptionist appears to hate her job and the waiting room is unwelcoming. I can only give this practice two stars because we really did love Dr. Sharon! read more

Last time we were at CHOP Flourtown was January. At that time they were calling patients to schedule appointments. I called today wondering why I didn't receive a call to schedule this year. They said they no longer do that, unless you are under 18 months or need vaccinations. Apparently the notices are posted in the office, no good for those of us who only go once a year. They are scheduling in March for well visits!!! I called a new highly recommended pediatrician and a real live human being answered after 2 rings, I almost fell off my chair, I was so used to an automated system answering and choosing my selection! I was able to schedule after school hours well visits for both of my kids in January. I could have taken my son sooner but decided to take both at the same time when my daughter is due, this way I have them both on the same schedule for yearly visits. I was so upset over leaving CHOP, the doctors and nurses are great but the scheduling is ridiculous!! The woman on the phone could have cared less that I was leaving. What kind of answer is it that the signs are in the office?!!! That is no way to notify your patients of anything! read more

Love three of the doctors. Have been there since my daughters birth and my boys have gone for 5 years. Every review that complains about the office is true. Mike at the front is compassionate and awesome as is Joan but the practice is not allowed to close to new patients EVER. Which means that you are essentially dealing with a triage situation all the time. I have requested a call back from a Dr. once in 5 years. My daughter was given amoxicillin for strep. Was told to call back in 24-48 if no improvement. Well amox didn't work And they REFUSED to have a dr call me back and couldn't schedule me that day. My daughter had 105 fever and they had a positive strep test. Also when you call to schedule yearly check ups they are a disaster. They reel you to call on a specific day, then the schedule isn't released, then you call back 3 days later and it's totally booked up. Also had an issue with my son needing to see a specialist at downtown CHOP. They told me to call two different depts. and gave me phone #'s. Both depts said that they couldn't schedule without notation from dr. Took 4 mi the to get and it ended up being THE WRONG SPECIALIST. I waited over 6 months to see a dr who told me my primary sent is to the incorrect place (this is with BCBS personal choice). Found a pediatrician in Andorra. They answer the phone with a pleasant attitude and talk to you every time you call. They scheduled all 3 of my kids well visits before I even turned in the paperwork (called in July scheduled for oct and jan). They have glowing reviews from tons of parents in our area. I'm already breathing a sigh of relief. And they are affiliated with CHOP and St. Christopher's and DuPont. read more

I don't think I have every been treated with anything above complete disdain at any my visits. We've been taking our son here since he was an infant and I absolutely love the place. All of the doctors are great. I believe we've seen most of them, but when scheduling well appointments we usually go for Dr. Tomaine. Each of the docs have very different personalities (Dr. Corcoran is VERY upbeat and cheery and Dr. Limmer is very calming). But, they are really great with kids and spend time asking plenty of questions and answering all of mine. They also always seem to be well read on the latest medical journal research. Would, and have, recommend them to anyone in an heartbeat. read more

I was hoping to register my son as a new patient with this office, mainly because they are associated with CHOP and the doctors have gotten good reviews. I was wary what kind of treatment I'd receive on the phone though because of the warnings on here. I called anyway wanting to schedule a well-visit for over two months out. I was told they are scheduling 3-4 months out for new patients and couldn't get an appointment until October. The person on the phone wasn't rude, but not helpful. Thanks, but no thanks. read more

Before anyone says this was a one off, this has always been an issue with this office. I've been fortunate enough to not have to call the office with the exception of making well visit appointments. I put up with it for a bit until I finally had enough. I agree that the doctor's are wonderful but the front desk needs a major overhaul. My 4 month old developed a fever and I tried desperately to get a same day appointment with the office. This was at 2pm on a Thursday afternoon. I called 6 times, I tried the "nurse's line" multiple times but no one answered. I proceeded to try the regular line by hitting 3 on my dial pad and ONCE I got a real person only for her to tell me to wait. I hung up after 5 minutes. I tried again multiple times and finally gave up out of frustration. I searched and found another office who was more than happy to see my little girl. Not only were they concerned, they were VERY helpful. The next few days I received multiple phone calls to follow up. Now that's customer service. Well today just sealed the deal for me. I called the office to request my daughter's records transfer to her new doctor. It took almost 20 rings before someone picked up. Yep, I cant wait until this is all over. read more

Call for wellness visit and they aren't taking appointments yet, call back and I'm too late and they are now booking 6 months out. With 3 daughters, I've been going to this practice for about 21 years. I've seen every doctor in the practice, but Dr. Corcoran has always been our #1. She knows my family so well and has felt like an important part of our family for all of these years. She has essentially helped me raise my children. With my youngest being 17, I will be sad to say goodbye, but maybe in a few more years my grandkids will be seeing Dr. Corcoran. Dr. Corcoran diagnosed my daughter within 3 minutes of seeing her with a very rare disorder. She made herself personally available to us while we went through this scary time and I would never trust anyone with my kids more than I trust her. She is caring and devoted to every one of her patients and the most genuine person you will ever meet. Yes, you sometimes have to wait months for an appointment and then an hour to see her once you finally get there, but that's because she is in demand and because she spends the time with each family to be sure they leave with all the concerns addressed and questions answered. Just plan ahead for the wait. It will be worth it. As teens, my girls are still excited to see her at least once per year! Some of the front desk people are friendly and some are not. After 21 years I don't even think about. They do their job and that's the important thing. You can go elsewhere, but the doctors in this practice are top notch and the bottom line is to be sure your kids are taken care of by the best and most caring doctors. read more

I LOVE LOVE LOVE CHOP Flourtown! The doctors and nurses are so smart, kind and loving. My 4 year old told his pediatrician that he wants to be a doctor when he grows up and she wouldn't let him leave without a goodie bag of medical supplies (band aids, tongue depressors, gauze etc). I always feel that my concerns are validated and I always feel that my children are in capable and loving hands. I wish I could be a patient there! read more

im only being polite when im going this place 2 stars. I have been going here my whole life, and only continue to go because its the closest doctor to me. When I arrive early for an appt. I notice that the babies ALWAYS get seen before me, even by the same doctor I have an appt. with at the same time so Im stiuck in the waiting room for 45 mintutes, and when they finally call me back I wait in the room for another 30 minutes for the doctor to come in. This ALWAYS happens and im so sick of it. I have been calling this place for the past two days to get an appointment and every time i call the lines been busy. I definately reccomend going somewhere else unless you have an infant, because unless you do its like your invisible there. read more

Just Came back from an appointment with my son who is 5yrs old and it saddens me the RACISM that was shower upon us today. I have been working in the medical field for 20yrs and what happened today should not have. We waited 45min to be taken back for an appointment that only took 20min. 9 parents with their children came in after me and my son did and 8 of them were taking back before within 5min of there arrival. We were the only blacks in the office/waiting area. We talk so much about Gun Violence and BLACK LIVE MATTER but they matter as well in HEALTH care. My son was restless and antsy from having to wait so long. The lie and justification they tried to give me once I started to question what was going on only salified what I already knew wich was we were being DISCRIMINATED AGAINST. IT is 2018 and if that how Chop @ flourtown is gonna run their office they should SAY and scene that they TAke Cauciations patients ONLY! I could have gone to a free clinic and been treated much better. SOmething need to done about this try of treatment to children or any human being. read more

We are a retiring military family new to the Flourtown region. My children need school physicals in order to enroll in PA schools for the first time. I called the clinic to make an appointment and was told by the receptionist that the earliest appointment for well visits for new patients was in three months! Also, since we are just coming from an overseas assignment, our medical records are on-board a ship right now. I was told we couldn't be seen without bringing all of our medical records as well. After 22 years as a military spouse, I have never been required to bring in the records of my children. I always start anew with new patient forms every 2-3 years when I enroll at a new clinic in our new duty region. (Of course, I hand carry immunization records.) I am flabbergasted that is how new patients are treated. I am not looking forward to this new civilian life. Customer service needs improvement at this clinic. I hope PA schools are lenient about the school physical policy. read more

One star is entirely too much credit. My wife and I started going there with our girls when they were born because some family members recommended them from their past experiences 20 years ago. Every concern of ours has been addressed and diagnosed over the phone without seeing our daughters. The only welcomed visits we had were their routine milestone check ups. Every time we call, we are diagnosed with some bull sh*t only to call back three or four times and get deferred to the emergency room or urgent care. As new parents, we understand that we can be over cautious and that kids get sick, but it is almost as if they didn't want us to bring them in. We found out the hard way our one daughter was allergic to amoxicillin. She developed an infection and they prescribed her amoxicillin AGAIN even after we told them she was allergic. Both daughters contracted cellulitis due to improper vaccination procedures and yet we were offered no apologies or anything. You guessed it, we were directed to go elsewhere. What prompted this review is the most recent of outrageous treatments we received: both of our girls were diagnosed with hand foot and mouth a month ago after being told, over the phone, that it was pink eye. Now we are told that is wrong. After 4 days of phone calls and diversions, we are now going to urgent care. Bottom line, this organization does not care and we are switching providers. read more

the doctor are amazing but that is completely overshadowed by the incompetency and rudeness of the front desk. every single well visit (which is a lot with infants) has been a problem trying to schedule. they never have appointments and give wrong information about when to call to get an appointment. if they can not accommodate the patients they already have then they should not be taking on more. they really need to get their act together. read more

I have been with Chop Flourtown for 11 years and am now looking for a new pediatrician. Scheduling appointments always take 3-4 months to be seen. When I'm told to call back in November to schedule for December and I comply only to be given a date in February. This past appointment I was 9 min late for my appointment (due to traffic, rain and excessive fog) and was told I missed the 15 minute policy and had to reschedule. When I pointed out I was only 9 min. late I was then told I was 9 min late for the schedule visit. (What happened to the 15 min policy the nurse so rudely pointed out to me!!!) Though I pointed out I was 9 min. late they gave little to no consideration. Then I was given a reschedule date for a week. My son never sees the same pediatrician, I feel he is a number rather than a patient. As a parent of an asthmatic child you want your child to have a good relationship with his doctor as there are emergencies and visits in addition to the regular well visits. I have tried to stay with them because when he was younger they were phenomenal. Unfortunately this last experience in addition to all of the inconveniences I have had with this office, we will be going elsewhere. read more

We have been a handful of times to CHOP Care Network and have had positive experiences every single time. Our daughter is 4.5 months now and have seen the same CPNP (Jen) each time. She raves about our daughter each time, who isn't high in the height and weight percentages which can make me worry. She assures me that our little one is on track with her growth. She spoke with me and took the time to hear my concerns about all the vaccines in the earlier months, encouraging us if we felt we needed to split them up (we did) and we could just come back the next month. These last round of shots I was okay with having them all done but she saw that one was done just the month before (we split the 2 months vaccines to be done at 2 and then another at 3 months so it wasn't too many in one day) so she encouraged us to wait since it may have been a little soon. I appreciated that. She is very kind and sweet. The nurses will call you back if you have a question (which we've called about diaper rashes/yeast infections). We love this place and love how our daughter is cared for. read more
