Ok so I went to Rita's today 6/13/26 and they have REDEEMED THEMSELVES. The young lady taking orders was very friendly and it was so quiet and comfortable in the store. Apparently you need to go as close to the time that they open and they are fully stocked on the Italian ice flavors. Today on my visit I got a pint of strawberry and lemon combined for $9.25. Looking for an ice cream spot somewhere between Clemson and Greenville SC, Coastal Cafe and…read moreCreamery jumped out at me with all the great reviews. Upon arrival, I was slightly disappointed with the signs out front advertising Hershey's ice cream. Not knocking the ice cream itself since it is good, but if you advertise yourself as a creamery, it's usually something local and not a brand that's delivered in bulk to many states. The interiors are cute and service was friendly enough from the girls serving. I went with a scoop of the coconut ice cream. It was really good and creamy, and not like most bulk produced ice cream that tends to melt quickly. Overall, I'd rate it a 4/5 which is about as good of a rating you can get for a more widely distributed ice cream brand like Hershey's. Prices are very reasonable, so if you don't mind that the ice cream isn't from a local creamery, I suggest a visit to Coastal Cafe & Creamery for Hershey's ice cream treats.

The guy at the window was very friendly, which was a nice touch. I ordered a double steakburger with onion rings. The steakburger eats more like a smaller burger since the patties are thin, but they have a great crust and good flavor. The onion rings were pretty standard, but done well. The meal came out to $13, which isn't too bad in today's world. Overall, I enjoyed the food, and paired with the cool retro vibe, it's definitely worth a visit.

You order at the counter, find a table and wait for your order to be called out. Mom K. had the Chili Burger Plate and I had the Hamburger Plate. Both came with French Fries and Cole Slaw. The portions were very generous. My first impression was both the Cole slaw and the fries needed a little more seasoning. I usually eat my Fries with Malt Vinegar or Red Robin seasoning. (Can you guess my usual go-to hamburger place?) The restaurant had a diner vibe. The young lady that took our order was fast, efficient and friendly. The food was plain home-cooking. It's a good place to go if you're on a budget...the portions are huge and the prices are good. Next time the mother-in-law wants to treat me again, I'll have to try the Peach Milkshake!
