He did tell me it would then cost $2500+ to expand the breaker box for a hot tub. In the time allotted Andy could not figure out what the sub panel did, did not find out what outlets and switches did. He told me I just need to expect that vacuum's and Christmas lights will blow the breaker. I found out after googling and asking around what to look for for a hot tub hook up. Apparently, the breaker box already had a sub panel which leads out to the nation where it is already wired for a hot tub. Andy was not able to determine what the sub panel did in the time allotted. I've never been charged for this type of consultation before. While I agree there was not enough time to look at everything, I am not an electrician and would have been fine with rescheduling rather than being asked to pay for an incomplete job and an irrelevant quote.

He's affordable, but you'll end up paying more fixing the mistakes he makes. He initially came out so we can add a gas line to our kitchen so we can install a gas stove. His story is he got tired of working for other people so he started his own company. We support small businesses and would rather help people who struggle because we have been there before. He came out and hooked up the gas line. The house smelled like gas, so we gave it some time, opened up the windows and turned fans on to clear house of gas smell. We contacted him and told him and he claimed he did everything right. He stated that if there is still a leak he'll come out and fix it. Well, the next morning there was still gas. I called the gas company to find out where the leak is coming from and they shut the gas off until repairs were made. We called rob, he came out and fixed the problem, he said the fittings weren't tight enough and he tightened them down. We had more plumbing stuff to do to our house and I wanted to hire someone else because I felt like Rob was going to be a problem at some point if he makes another mistake and we called him out on it. My husband being such a forgiving man wanted to give the guy another chance because people make mistakes. So my husband hired him to add a shut off valve and expansion tank to our water heater. Rob came out when my husband was at work and did some work I have no clue what he did. When he finished what he did he didn't do it right. He slammed the water heater in the closet about 4 times trying to make it fit right. I had air in all my pipes and water heater was not turned on correctly. I had no hot water for two days and it was leaking before we called rob and told him what's going on. He claimed it wasn't his fault and when he finds time he'll come out and look at it. I have a young child who just had surgery and needed a shower and we had to rely on this guy to fix it. Well we had a second opinion and had someone come look at the work. The eliminators misfired and blew the fuses, the tank was leaking. We had to pay a plumber to come fix the problem and the water heater still didn't work because there was no power going to it. Then we had to hire an electrician to come fix the electrical to the tank. Now I've paid a plumber, electrician, buy a new water heater, I have a hole in my wall and I paid for this con artist. We tried to talk to him and ask him to take some responsibility for what he did and he refused. He has giving every excuse in the book not to do the right thing. We asked him to put at least $140 towards the water heater he broke. We were willing to pay for all parts and some of his time for the work he did and yet still he would not take responsibility. I suggest if you think about hiring him, be ready to fix his mistakes and paying double or triple the price he charges. As the saying goes "you get what you pay for" is true to the T.

I got 3 quotes from Plumbing Plus, Bill Howe and Andy "The tankless plumber". The first two each told me something different, Bill Howe wanted to gouge me for almost $1,000 for a electrician they said I would need to install a new outlet for the unit (there is one 5 feet away that I plug my washer and dryer into). Plumbing Plus told me I would need a water softener system to make it run correctly, while Bill Howe said no it's not needed a better set up would be a whole house filter. It went on and on, Andy was my 3rd and final quote and boy I'm glad I called him! He told me I didin't need any of those things if I didn't want them, the heater itself comes with a filter that takes out all of the junk in our fine water here in San Diego. He broke it down, there are two different filter choices, he didn't do a hard sell or anything like that on any of it. You can tell he has been a plumber forever, knows his competition and his customer service and bids reflect that. He installed our water heater on Friday, it looks great, he cleaned up his mess along the way and when he was done. I would call him again in a heartbeat for our plumbing needs.

He requested final payment before the job was complete; I trusted his word and he screwed me over. I've tried contacting him over the years to come and complete the work and he's ghosted me. He never returned my business keys, so I had the building rekeyed, he never pulled a permit for his work that he told me would cost $4,000 but said it wasn't needed. Come to find out a permit was needed and would only cost $400, so what shady work was performed that he didn't want inspected. Over $22,000 and I have electrical issues every year that I have to get honest electricians out to fix!!!

He offered to look up a replacement fountain controller and gave us a price that included about a 50% markup on the part. We decided to purchase the part ourselves instead. However, we were then charged an additional fee simply for locating the part and texting us the manufacturer's website. Had we known in advance that this would add nearly $120 to our bill, we would have declined. The work itself was fine, but I was disappointed that these additional charges were not clearly explained beforehand. It's a shame. We were considering him for other projects but after this experience, we will go with someone else.
