However, we were then charged an additional fee simply for locating the part and texting us the manufacturer's website. Had we known in advance that this would add nearly $120 to our bill, we would have declined. The work itself was fine, but I was disappointed that these additional charges were not clearly explained beforehand. It's a shame. We were considering him for other projects but after this experience, we will go with someone else.

That level of disrespect is completely unacceptable. Clear communication and basic courtesy should be the bare minimum, especially when charging premium prices. As a property manager, I work with vendors regularly and know what good service looks like--this wasn't it.
