Doug from Northwest Indiana home inspection came out and inspected the house I am buying. He went…read morethrough the whole house. It took a few hours. He pointed out things to me as he went along. The report was very detailed. Several things he pointed out, he told me they were a concern but not immediately. But they would be fine for a few years. Other things he pointed needed attention right away. I would recommend this company to anyone needing a home inspection.

I had an inspection done for an older house I was purchasing. I felt confident after the inspector…read moreleft; however, after moving into my house, I soon discovered something major that was missed. When investigating the best way to remove tiles from my basement, I discovered my floor tiles could be asbestos. This was never mentioned by the inspector. In fact, he told us we should replace the flooring because it was cracking and damaged. I sent a sample out to a lab and my fears were confirmed. With a one year old daughter, this is not acceptable conditions to have in my house. Now I am stuck paying $3000 to have the asbestos removed because the floor tiles are in such bad shape. I contacted NWI Inspection Service and spoke with Dennis. He seemed to be apologetic, but mentioned that he cannot for sure say whether or not I was offered asbestos testing over the phone. I told him I was not, but regardless, an inspector should suspect asbestos floor tiles and suggest testing be done. This would've allowed me to negotiate a better price on the house. He agreed with me. After we hung up, I forwarded him the emails that were about scheduling the appointment to prove there was no mention of asbestos testing. I told him I believed he should pay for it and my family attorney believed he should as well. He responded claiming that this is not something a trained inspector would be able to notice by the naked eye except through a lab test, which I didn't ask for. He then copied the pre-agreement I signed where it states they are not responsible for testing or mentioning hazardous materials. As a business, I find this to be completely unacceptable. Are we supposed to ask about asbestos testing before we suspect asbestos in the house? Shouldn't the inspector tell us he suspects it? What is the point of an inspection if they won't point those things out? We relied upon NWI Home Inspection Service to make sure my house was safe for my family. If the inspector had told us he suspected asbestos, it would've been taken care of before we ever bought the house. If you see this company and need an inspection, I would advise you to move on. Besides the asbestos floor tile that was missed, two leaking hot water pipes were missed as well. This is very disappointing and very costly!

BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have ever experienced. Both Kelly and Rich here are amazing. I needed…read moreadvice about a mold situation in a condo I am purchasing, and Kelly in the office listened to me with so much courtesy, care, and genuine concern. Rich called me back so fast and he was just as nice, patient, and helpful! He even took the time to review a mold test lab report performed by another company and give me his professional opinion verbally over the phone at no charge. Who does that these days?! I was beyond-description impressed! He single-handedly saved my home purchase by alleviating my fears and explaining that this mold situation can be taken care of if I like the property I want to buy (which I do!). He even gave a good recommendation of a competitor. These people are incredible. So, from my experience, do not hesitate to use Jensen Environmental! You cannot find a more honest organization or be treated better anywhere else! THANKS JENSEN!!!

I worked with both Erik and Brandon. Erik took time via email and phone thoroughly discussing my worries about asbestos as well as educating me quite a bit about asbestos.
