Absolutely appalling service…read more  Taxi to airport booked for between 6.30 and 7am for airport run. Checked on whereabouts at 6.50 and told 10 minutes away. Called back at 7.10 for update, operator said he'd find out and call back, which he did at 7.20 to say taxi broken down and no other vehicles available.  What kind if service is this? 50 minutes later than expected and dropped at last minute with only a simple verbal apology. Disgraceful behaviour from a company that states on its answering service about moving large quantities of people. I wouldn't trust you to walk my dog!!!!

Most of the cars which you are picked up in are clean and tidy and the drivers never really try and rip you off. I have done the same journey to the train station numerous times and the fare is always the same give or take 20p. The downside to this taxi company is they are not very reliable. I have lost count of the number of times they have been late and I have needed to ring and chase them, sometimes i think they dont send a car until you ring and chase them. I think they should also take a contact number when you book a taxi as there has been one instance where i booked a taxi to the train station early in the morning and i stressed for it to be on time because i had to catch 2 trains and couldnt miss my connection. The taxi never showed up and after a few times of ringing they said the car that was taking me had broken down and there isnt another that can take me. I think that was really unprofessional and if you can find an alternative taxi company, use them.

I had to book a 2nd taxi after the first one failed to turn up despite me getting a text saying my taxi was outside. The 2nd one failed to turn up aswell. I walked to the firm right away and the guy operating the phone came out and with a disgusting attitude told me to "go somewhere else." I'll definitely be warning people against using this firm. The guy should be sacked.

Imagine my surprise when the lady that took my call told me I needed to book a Warrington cab because they were in Golborne. I knew this already because I was born and brought up in Lowton, and me and my family have been using Davron taxis for well over 30 years. Some of these journeys have involved trips to Culcheth (which is only 3 miles away from Golborne, for those of you that dont know), Warrington, and much further afield. I think I may even have been adventurous enough to go to Manchester Airport in a Davron taxi on more than one occasion. I am surprised that Davron now seems to restrict itself to Golborne, firstly because Golborne isnt actually that big (maybe they will still go as far as Lowton- I dont know), and secondly because we are currently in a recession and I mistakenly thought that local businesses needed all the help that they could get. And yes, I do consider Golborne to be local to me in Culcheth as it is only approximately 3 miles away, whereas Warrington is around 7. Its a shame that after all these years of loyalty to Davron, it is now no longer prepared to accept my custom and my money. Disappointed of Culcheth. p.s. I wished to rate this company 0, but that was not an option so I had to give it 1 star. It does not deserve this. p.p.s. I have no idea why my post states that I live in California. I recently booked and paid for an airport transfer both ways to Manchester airport about 3 weeks…read moreprior to flying i paid cash ( they will not take cards ) the driver picked us up and dropped us off ok the problem started when we came back to Manchester they had confirmed by text that they would pick us up at 8.40 PM but by 9.00 PM we had heard nothing so i rang Davron to find out what was going on the lady told me that they only had 1 driver working and could not give me a time of pick up when i asked her what we should do she told me to go and have a cup of tea ? i explained that we had been travelling all day were tired and wanted to get home as soon as possible and if they could not do it i would get a taxi from the airport to home and would expect them to give me the money back she told me she could not do that so i asked to speak to the owner but she would not give me his tel no but said she would contact him and and he would ring me i waited a while but heard nothing so we got a cab home that me cost £ 52 when i got home i rang Davron and told them i would bring the receipt in but she told me to ring the day after which i did and spoke to another lady who after some argument said i could have £34 back ( half the original fare ) i told her i wanted the £ 52 back i had paid out as it was not my fault that they had left us stranded at the airport she then said she was going the phone down and then did so i went to the office later that day and was given £ 34 i again asked to speak to the owner but was told he only comes in for an hour each week and cannot be contacted now i would like to add that i have used this company for the past 10 years 3 / 4 times a year for airport transfers + the odd local fare and have never before had a problem but sadly that reliable polite service seems to have gone and the way their very rude staff treat paying customers with contempt is disgraceful needless to say i will never use this company again and instead will spend my money with a more reliable taxi company
