Thus, they knew how to keep me on the straight and narrow and ensure that I knew what position to be in. What pleasantly surprised me was the fast play, superior driving range, and the totally pleasant and polite golf staff. For a municipal GC the playing grass, greens, bunkers, and playing experience is superior. Play the GC if you get a chance.

Course management/staff failed to mention a tournament was starting at 10:00am - the first group of the tournament caught us and the rest of the regular players pretty quickly, and proceeded to hit into us the rest of the round. After the turn, one of the starters asked if we were in the tournament, and told us the tournament never should have caught us due to a 30 minute gap between our tee time and the starting of the tourney. We were told to "stay on the ass of the group in front of us" to preserve the tournament's pace of play. Towards the end of the round, one of the players behind us bounced their ball off our cart as we were pulling onto the 18th tee box, and then hit just left of it as we approached the green of that hole. We spoke with staff after the round and were told the tournament started at 10:00am, meaning there was no 30 minute buffer. Our round ended at 1:46pm, being four minutes short of a 4 hour round. Staff in the pro shop couldn't have been more condescending about the situation, and scoffed at the idea of players being able to determine when tournaments were being held prior to booking out a tee time. Overall, the experience was horrible, and I would have appreciated a refund on the round. Maybe don't book out normal player tee times prior to a tournament that will have accelerated pace of play, and hone in on those customer service skills across the board. It's a drop in the bucket for them, but I won't be playing here again.

I would not recommend this golf course to anyone, especially on a busy Saturday morning. A group of…read morefriends and I decided to get together to try the course out before, a few of us had played before and some of us had not. We waited for 15 minutes at the start as there was lots of congestion due to it being busy. When it was finally our groups turn to go, each for of us took a turn and while we took our turns a group of men behind us yelled insults/complaints at us (I.e. telling us to get off the course, ask for our money back, hurry up) which was extremely distracting and made it hard for all of us to golf. I eventually told the man that we also had to wait and he needed to not criticize us as he could see some of us were new to the game. Once all 4 of us finished, we continued along. This group of men (8 men) left and apparently asked for a rain check because we were "holding up the course" when in reality the course was extremely busy and everyone had to wait at the start. The general manager came to us and yelled at us because we "caused" these men to leave. I felt the general manager, Ty, was extremely rude and disrespectful. I also feel as if we were being discriminated against because we were the only women on the course at the time. I'd recommend this course not be supported as it is not an inclusive space for all levels and some of the regulars seem to be very belligerent.

The building seems a bit run down from what I remember. Built in 1961 and designed by architects Floyd Farley and Tripp Davis, it offers a par-72 layout playing from 5,275 to 6,695 yards across four sets of tees, with a course rating of 72.1 and slope of 121. The course features well-groomed fairways and greens, providing challenging yet accessible play for golfers of all skill levels, along with scenic views. The fairways and greens along the north side are dealing with road construction and a bridge replacement so I gets a little noisy over there.

To keep in tune with new management's attitude they collectively decided not to mow anything except the greens. Some cover patches was 6 to 7 inches deep, good luck keeping pace of play with the only effing chace you have of finding your ball is to step on it. Manager has never been spotted anywhere other than behind the cash register, swiping credit cards and counting money could probably be left to a lower graded employee. Short staffed? Roll up those sleeves and do something! Who knew spring was coming? Today was absolute trash, your attitude matches but hell golf is all about consistency right?

Oak Tree Splendor in Southeast OKC…read more I love this course, however, don't be seduced by the short length and pastoral oak tree splendor. Trosper Park has teeth and claws. Well-managed and well-maintained, it is only 6,601 yards from the blue tees and 5,963 from the blancas - but these are simply numbers. With elevation changes and prevailing winds, you must hit golf shots. I have played this course countless times since the 60s (yes, I'm that old) and Trosper has always had exceptional green complexes. About 20 years ago they redesigned the course, rerouted a few holes and rebuilt the greens so they are undulating and sloped to challenge even the most confident short game guru. Should your approach miss you may find thick Bermuda rough shoulders and a pitch that requires your full attention. Trosper bunkers are somewhat problematic because, with every rain, many are washed out and unplayable (like aquatic ant farms). Strategic advice: avoid the bunkers. Maybe, to improve playability and reduce maintenance, management can bury some of them and plant grass? The opening and closing par 5s are not long, but they will eat your lunch. Set your ego aside and resist the temptation to "go for it" because that is the test you must pass. I trust, like me, you will enjoy the legacy of Trosper's subtle beauty and return with friends for many memorable rounds.

The curtains, the light fixtures, all had been thought out and made to make you feel like you really are in a palace. The beds were plush and the blankets were soft, I slept really well. There were robes and slippers awaiting us and I spent nearly the entire time in both. The slippers were plush and felt great on my feet. The robe was light and airy, made with material that felt nice on my skin. The bathroom was so nice I took several showers just because it was like being at a spa. Hands down the best breakfast I've had at a hotel. If I can give you a tip, splurge for a room with a balcony, there beautiful scenery and we watched baby deer run around and play from above.
