10/10 experience for their chocolate bon bon making class. They were SO accommodating, patient, and sweet!! I can't recommend them enough for a fun activity. They have bakery and cooking classes of all types so look at their website for the options and dates. Their chocolate up front for sale is gorgeous and they have a lot of fun flavors. You can talk the chocolate made there on-site is made by hand and with care. Everything is clean and bright inside which makes you feel even better.

We went to a fabulous Halloween concha class that provided everything needed to make 5 delicious mini concha sweet breads. The owner will have the dough ready for you but will show you how to make it after you assemble your conchas. You'll be shown how to prepare and decorate the concha's step by step and have the freedom to get as creative as you want. I made an alien cookie out of my leftover topper dough. When preparing the topper dough, try to act fast because the dough will start to melt in your hands. We had so much fun and I look forward to trying a different class. We bought some amazing bon bon candies before we left. I appreciate that they had several Halloween themed options. I'll definitely be back.

Located at stone oak parkway and 1604, Chocolatl is a woman owned chocolate shop that offers unique hand crafted chocolates in flavors like churro Bailey's, raspberry rose and lemon cheesecake. The owner actually won pastry chef of the year by the Texas Culinary Association in 2024. The boxes come in different sizes and they even have a cute box that looks like a purse. The back has a classroom area where they offer group baking classes for kids and adults. Worth the drive for a class or to satisfy a chocolate craving.

I want to attend your bakery and pastry courses. I am a novice, and I would like to be in a small group or a one-on-one session that talks about bonbons and caramels? Are you dating on the weekends or evenings of this month?

Hi Alyssa! I don't have a bonbon class scheduled this month, but I can start one. Please send us a message at (210) 802- 7430 and we can start it!

This place is in a great spot for foot traffic because of all the other places next to it. When you walk in there are tons of chocolates, cakes, macarons;etc. I took a look around the whole shop just to see what they offer and I have to say the options seemed almost limitless. I did like that they had gifting chocolates already out. After walking around, I ended up just buying the Kanafeh & Pistachio Taco which was a whopping $14.00 ! I do have to say for the size of the taco, I don't believe it's worth that much. Don't get me wrong it was very delicious and can appreciate how much of the mixture they tried to put in it, but the chocolate ended up being too much for me. Now to talk about the service, this is where things were a little awkward since the 2 employees were having a conversation the female was loudly talking about how she was pissed that things had to be done a certain way and complaining about doing stickers or something to the male, when I tell you I heard the entire conversation.... I heard the entire thing. Just my 2 cents, if you're going to complain about anyone that has to do with the business maybe be a little quieter with customers around or wait until they leave.

I forgot the exact flavors I got, but I remember trying pistachio, Dubai chocolate, and one other flavor. They were all really good. Since I was hungry, I also grabbed a chocolate croissant, which was delicious as well. I forgot to ask them to heat it up, but it was still very enjoyable. On the side, I tried their ice cream, and it was honestly some of the best ice cream I've had in San Antonio. I believe I got pistachio, taro, and coffee on the bottom, and they were all great. At the end, I also got Turkish coffee just out of curiosity. It's not in the picture because I purchased it after I finished my dessert. The coffee was very strong, with a unique flavor that made it fun to try. One small suggestion: the coffee was very very hot and nearly overflowed the small cup, so it might be helpful to add a "cup sleeve", use a slightly bigger cup, or offer an option to make it a bit cooler (adding an ice or two). Overall, this is definitely a cool place to hang out, especially if you enjoy sweets, coffee, and trying different flavors. Highly recommended and will be back for more!

The first time I visited, the shop was completely empty with no customers or staff in sight. I waited for ten minutes during which time I snapped some really great photos of the place for Yelp, but ended up leaving when no one ever came out. The café was cute and had their monkey mascot everywhere from murals to plushies, the pastries in the case looked yummy, the dark chocolate samples from around the world were interesting to try, and I really liked the idea of making my own chocolate like they advertised so I decided to try again another day. Unfortunately, the café is a little more out of the way and free parking in the downtown area is limited so it made it difficult to return as soon as I'd hoped to. On the second visit there were two customers and a single manager in shop, and I finally got to order. I opted for their Matcha Latte with Hazelnut which was, at first, okay at best. It was pretty smooth for the first half of the drink or so but was grassy in flavor, and the Hazelnut was dark chocolate like the rest of their chocolates in shop, so beware if you like a milkier chocolate flavor. I would have been less harsh on this drink if it wasn't for the fast that towards the end I ended up sipping a HUGE clump of unblended matcha. It was so bad I ended up pouring out the last of the drink to assess the unmixed matcha situation and was even more appalled to see the bottom of the cup. A few matcha flecks? Fine. But I've NEVER had so much matcha caked down at the bottom of a drink before this one. It was insulting that the manager who made this drink thought this was okay. As an ex-barista, I've said this before and I'll say it again: If you don't know how to make a drink, it does not need to be on your menu. It doesn't matter if you specialize in coffee and chocolate, that does not give you a pass on the other things. If it's on your menu, you need to know how to make it. 5 Stars for aesthetic, 2 Stars for the second worst matcha beverage I've had in my life.

This shop sells fudge, truffles, candied apples, and - what I came for - ice cream! They had a lot of ice cream flavors to choose from, a least a couple dozen. The smiling young woman working behind the ice cream counter offered to give tastes, but I had already figured out which flavors I wanted. I chose two scoops in a cup, one of Cappucino Chip and the other Turtle Cheesecake. They have several tables to sit at, some along a hallway and more in a back room. I took a seat and was in awe of the huge scoops given. The Cappuccino Chip had a mild flavor (I prefer it stronger) but a fair number of tiny chocolate chips. The Turtle Cheesecake had an excellent cheesecake flavor with swirls of caramel, praline pecans, and caramel-filled mini turtles. I'm usually not fond of nuts in my ice cream but I actually enjoyed the pralines. In my humble opinion, there were too few turtles. But I still loved it. If you're in the mood for a cold, creamy treat while visiting the Alamo, you'll find this to be the perfect place to visit.
