By far this was the sweetest slice of cheesecake I've had. The filling was rich and creamy, the taste of cinnamon and caramel kept building up until about halfway through where I needed to take a break and sip on my coffee. It was just too sweet and I had yet to touch the frosting topping and cookie. After a bit of water I continued. I managed to finesse a piece of cookie, a sliver of frosting and a bit of cheesecake all onto one pile on my fork resulting in a rush of pleasure as I began to devour it. All that was followed by a loss in taste due to the surge in sugary goodness. It was delicious.

First, I scoffed at the idea of paying €16 (Yay! Found the keys for Euro signs!) for a cheesecake…read more Or to specify, a *mini* cheesecake. It was my only day in the so-called "arts" district, so I figured all the fancy presentation on these goods would have the flavor to back them up. I ordered the plain cake because the other option was Oreo (lol that's trashy for an expensive place), and grinned with delight as it was put in a box AND then a decorated bag, like I'd just gone shopping for something that would last more than five minutes. It was delicious, with a very hard, dry consistency that was not very sweet. A bit on the tart side, indicating they are liberal with the sour cream, while conservative with the sugar. Definitely a great base for a more complex cake, but even though simple is good, the flavor just wasn't appealing enough for me to give it a full five stars. If you want a taste that's a bit more complex, totally go for the cupcakes. Especially tiramisu!

Angelina, Paris, France -- April 12…read more Our family of four with kids ages 9 and 10 stopped here for lunch after visiting the Louvre, drawn in by its reputation for having the best hot chocolate in the world. We were looking for a place to relax and refuel, and the experience felt a bit mixed overall. Arrival and First Impressions The space is elegant with classic Parisian charm. The line moved quickly, and we were seated with a great view of the dining room. It felt refined but still comfortable. The Highlights The famous hot chocolate lived up to expectations, thick, rich, and almost more like a dessert than a drink. We also had French onion soup and an éclair, both of which were very good. The pastries were clearly well made and thoughtfully prepared. The kids had chicken tenders, which they enjoyed, even though the tomato sauce was a bit different from what they expected. The Challenges The biggest drawback was the price. The meal felt expensive for what we ordered, coming in at €154 for a fairly simple lunch. Service felt slightly rushed as they moved tables along quickly. Final Thoughts We would likely return if we were nearby and specifically craving the hot chocolate again. It is a classic Paris stop and worth trying once, but the value may not justify going out of your way unless that signature experience is high on your list.

It really tastes like melted chocolate with a bit of milk mixed in to make it more drinkable. We went at a bit of an off time, late morning and it wasn't overly busy. We saw our server once and I couldn't recall who he was when it came time to get the bill. I asked a hostess walking by for our check and she told me to ask our server while walking away. We were able to flag another server down eventually but the whole process just took too long. The tables for four have chairs that don't quite tuck in causing for a bit awkward seating. If you like really thick hot chocolate, give it a try but otherwise ok to miss this one. Plenty of good hot chocolate throughout the city.
