They let me take my time getting up to leave as I have POTS and mixed with dizziness from anesthesia wasn't fun but they took such amazing care of me and I can't thank them enough! The only rude person I came across was at check in downstairs there was a younger woman who was tall and thin who was extremely rude to us but literally everyone else we talked to were BEYOND kind! If I have to have surgery again I hope it's at Chesapeake!!! Thank you all again for a successful surgery and recovery!!

In the two building complex you'll find just about any (if not all) of Sentara's Medical practices. Most Sentara specialists practice at more than one, but not all, locations. So you may not find your favorite doctor at this medical complex. The location isn't convenient for me. But it's the only place my Sentara Foot Surgeon practices. My Sentara Cardiologist also practices at both this Medical Center & one on the Sentara Norfolk General Campus. I normally see him at the closer Norfolk location. But if I can get a quicker appointment, I have gone to his office in Chesapeake. The office personnel at all the practices I've seen at the Careplex have been friendly & pleasant. The availability of care from most types of specialists is quite convenient for those who live in Chesapeake and SW Virginia Beach. A Sentara Physical Therapy Center is located in the Careplex. There are also non Sentara practices in the center, including both Pediatrics & Family Practice. Both buildings are meticulously maintained & have large parking lots. Handicapped parking spaces are located near the entrance to each building. Shopping & eateries are in close proximity.

Once I passed the background check, I was given a parking pass valid for the next few days. I parked in the parking garage as instructed by my nieces husband. I got turned around the first time, and it took a little extra time to find the maternity ward. But the next time it was easier and I never got lost again lol. On one of my visits, I walked through the oldest structure on campus which was the original hospital built in 1827. This is the oldest military hospital in the US. It still had the original stone exterior (outsise of original hospital) which had been closed in with hallways surrounding it. I checked out some cool paintings throughout the hospital. I learned a lot of history by reading the captions of the paintings. This biulding was turned into an administrative building. The campus was huge! And very pretty as it sits on the bank of the Chesapeake Bay. There was lots of green space which was beautiful.

You need to be a dependent or other military ID card holder to be seen and it is on the base; past the front gate. If you need help deciding if you need to be seen there is a nurse advice line when you call the main number that can help you decide if you're in need of care. Parking is sometimes an issue but you can park in the attached garage and get to the ER via the interior of the main hospital easily for walk-in care. Patient parking lot near the ER entrance is also an option. This is a place to receive care for any military member or their family member who is experiencing a mental health crisis and needs to be kept safe.

But every (new) bill says......you guessed it....) Talked to their people on several separate occasions about this business practice........I could recite their standard spiel about ...."call us and we will be happy to send a detailed inventory of the charges"...... because you hear it multiple times when you try to reason with "customer service" ALL I WANT IS A BILL THAT SAYS WHERE OR WHEN............. Not.....Previous Balance..... And --- patient focused, right? These 8 bills we have thus far have 6 different account numbers........all for the same lady.

They have disconnected clients from auto-pay without notice to later present them a huge bill and a notice of cancellation. Clients have requested help with employee terminations or new enrollments, and Sentara has brushed them off, telling them to resolve their issues via the unfriendly Sentara Group portal. Clients perceive a sense of apathy from Sentara Healthcare.
